Sorry for the delay for this one. AEKMAN74 posted a good summary of the game which you can check out as well.

Well, my Father and I decided that since I only have half a year left in Greece before I, unfortunately, have to return to North America for university (don't get me wrong, I love North America, I just don't know how long I'll be able to stay away from AEK) we'd go up to Thessaloniki and watch this one so I could experience a proper away game.

AEK Athens could only manage a 0-0 draw with PAOK Saloniki today. Dusan Bajevic had this to say after the match:

We started well in the first 10 minutes and they only deserved the first half. We got the rhythm of PAOK and did nothing remarkable. In the second half we played better but we had no pace and we could not do anything.

MLSSoccer.com is now reporting that Johnson's injury might not prevent him from participating in the World Cup camp starting this weekend. Johnson's agent Richard Motzkin is quoted as saying: "He doesn't think it's going to be that long. As planned, he'll join the US team shortly, and he won't play any more matches for Aris.

Now, in my opinion we didn't play the best football we could have but, WHO CARES!!!! It was the last game of the season, what mattered most was the result. And, to top things off, Aris also won which mean Oly finishes fifth in the league! IM LOVING IT!!!!

Alright, as I mentioned in the post before Oly had a very depleted squad.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos, without a doubt one of the biggest prospects in Greek football, and former AEK defender, will soon seal the deal on a move to Italian giants AC Milan. He previously played for Genoa and had two very successful seasons with the club (he started often, was loved by the fans, and from what I saw gave some memorable performances).

AEK traveled to Scotland for the first leg of their Europa League qualification playoff tie and did enough. We were solid enough in defense, controlled the midfield for large parts of the game, and showed some creative flair up top. The only goal was created by Scocco who played the ball to Lago who ran the left flank and sent in a composed cross on the ground behind Dundee's back-line to Djebbour who cooly finished it off.

Well, all I can say is we were lucky. PAO had a few incredible chances to score a few goals but were either stopped by the post or Arabatzis. But, they never should have won in the first round against us so it's all good

We started without Makos which was great news. Our starting XI was Arabatzis, Araujo, Majstorovic, Geraldo, Karabelas, Manduca, Kafes, Jahic, Blanco, Scocco, and Djebbour.

Reports coming out of Greece suggest that the upcoming match with Levadeiakos has been fixed. Levadeiakos are in a fight for survival and currently only sit one point above the relegation zone and some are saying that AEK will let them win this match so they stay up. Many betting companies (both in Greece and abroad) have started giving some pretty crazy odds such as around 1.

We left Livadia last night with one point from a draw, enough to seal us fourth place as Aris fall 2-1 to Tripolis. Nothing spectacular really but a game worth commentating on regardless.

So, despite the 0-0 scoreline, both teams had some considerable chances to get a few in the net with the majority of them coming from Levadeiakos in the first half.

First of all, it's been a while since I lasted posted and quite a bit has happened since then.

Well, we beat Tripolis in our last regular season game, 2-0 at home. A rather eventful game in fact so I'll go through some of it here.

We started with a different line up than what was being predicted by most, the main reason for this being the fact that several players (Scocco, Blanco, Araujo, Arce, Saja, Roger, and others) were out partying two nights before the game until the early morning hours.

According to sites here in Greece, Liverpool have agree to allow Nemeth to stay with us for one more season. Fabulous news! All that remains is for Nemeth himself to agree, and while nothing official has been said, he has stated in the past that he would have no problem with staying for another year.

Guess what? We’ve been robbed!

Ok, we were terrible today. We did turn things up a bit in the second half which ended with Nemeth messing up a sitter. But aside from that, we were terrible, and lucky.

However, we scored a PERFECTLY LEGIT goal, scored by the Great Manolas yet for some reason (oh wait, there is a reason and we all know it), it was dissalowed by the ref.

So, we drew to PAOK and Lost to Oly. Things were looking very bad and people were wondering "what's wrong with the players???". Well, I don't know what was wrong with them but yesterday's 4-2 win against Aris saw a completely different team on the pitch. Sure, a little late to start playing some football but better late than never and to be honest we still have a chance of getting something worthwhile out of these playoffs if we keep this up.

So, we drew 1-1 with Aris in Thessaloniki while PAOK beat Olympiakos 1-0, in Karaiskaki! To be honest I only watched the final half hour of the match but from what I heard it was pretty uneventful, especially the first half which ended 0-0. I will say though that the football I saw from our team was not the same football we played five days before.

Yes, that's right, the beloved Number 33 has returned to the club where he was loved for years. He's 35 years old now and certainly not getting any younger but I will always be happy to welcome him back to our club, especially at a time when options seem limited. Hopefully we will see some signs of the Libe we all knew and loved.

I had little hopes for this Greece team before the World Cup actually started and now I have none. Despite terrible choices by Otto the players were sloppy and not until the final minutes showed much interest in scoring. We were outclassed and it was obvious early on. Un-inspirational play but it doesn't help that a Liverpool centre-back (Kyrgiakos) and a Serie-A starting centre-back (Papastathopoulos) don't start the match.
