Manchester's billboard wars escalate! Manchester City supporters have made the latest move in a
poster battle with United fans. A spoof email featuring the slogan 'Welcome to Stretford' and a
hobbling Michael Owen has been doing the email rounds. City started the war with a provocative
'Welcome to Manchester' advertisement featuring Carlos Tevez shortly after capturing the [.
Everyone saw them and if you didn't you are blind. I found myself looking at them more as the game
progressed, every moment that passed. Anything to take my mind off of the horrendous game I was
watching.
USA got beat up like the little fat kid that no one likes in the neighborhood. In the end not even
Landon Donovan's penalty kick could hide the damage that was done.
It's for an California-promoting advertisement. Gotta bring in those tourists.
I think it ends with Beckham boarding a plane in an AC Milan jersey, then turning to the camera and
saying:
"I'll be back."
Bonus coverage here, I saw this clip of Beckham responding to Shaq's twitter challenge:
Face of the Quakes: Huckerby features in new ads.
As their rivals to the south ponder whether to begin removing Beckham from promotions, the San Jose
Earthquakes are championing their slightly more affordable British import:

As players have mentioned to me many times, supporters groups and fans really do make a difference.
Not only do they motivate and lift players during a game, but they make the atmosphere of a game an
instant MLS advertisement for those who attend a soccer game for the first time. Recently, CBS
caught some tof he Angel City Brigade (click here for more info about the group) supporting their
LA Galaxy player, Landon Donovan, on his arrival back into the US.
Why does that remind us of this???
It seems that David Beckham will do anything these days to be in an advertisement. I would have
expected more underwear posters but this time it will be in a Star Trek outfit. Beckham and Noel
Gallagher of Oasis were seen at a London photoshoot dressed as undisclosed Start Treck
Characters.
It's still unknown what the commercial was for except that it will involve Beckham, Gallagher,
Ian Brown, Snoop Dogg, Agyness Deyn and Daft Punk.
Selamat Pagi! (Good Morning)Do you play Bola?Yes you must speak the language. If you don't learn
it, you will deny your$elf the rich cultural experience of fully communicating with tho$e from
another culture. This is a new United advertisement produced ahead of their Far East tour..How do
you say " I love soccer " in Bahasa Indonesia?
This is a soccer blog not a political blog, but for the record, I do not oppose the Israeli
cell-phone company Cellcom's controversial new commercial embedded above.
The piece ends with the voice over, "So what is it that we all want? Just a little fun. Cellcom
Media come on in."
I think the advertisement does not hurt or offend anyone, and in fact - it shows that we are all
humans - Jewish or Arab, Palestinian or Israeli.
This is a pretty funny picture, and no, it is not fake, found via Just-Football.com . The
Manchester City officials have bought advertisement around the city to make fun brag about the
signing of one of the most important players Manchester United had last season.
The 25 year old striker, bought for 29 million euros, might make a big difference at the City of
Manchester Stadium, and after the signing of Robinho last season from Real Madrid, Manchester City,
probably the richest club in the world after they were bought by Abu Dhabi United Group 12 months
ago, will be a threat for United from the ongoing season.

Classy! This is Luca Toni, an Italian footballer, who plays for a German club, selling German
sausages, in an Italian advertisement. And why would he ever do that? Well, the brand he's hawking
— Nürnberger Bratwürste — is that of a company (HoWe Wurstwaren) co-owned by Bayern Munich
chairman Uli Hoeness and .
Great work by Dirty Tackle here. The video posted above is the 'behind the scenes' viral ad with
the Brazilian playing some fake keepy-uppy for fun.
His dinosaur character is based on the real advertisement posted below.
I like the work.
Original. Unique. And keeping a legend busy.
[France WCB] I think we've decided Nike are currently reigning supreme in the world of football
advertisements - at least those which don't involve Luis Fabiano and a bee suit. They're also
testing the bounds of conventional advertisement, as a bunch of naked Germans will tell you. Not
wanting to fall behind, they've continued their dive [.

Ok, so that last video had nothing to do with Seattle, Scarfs or the Sounders but it came up when
we typed "Scarfafied" into Youtube and who doesn't love dudes in space suits playing 80s
Hair Metal?
On to the pictures:

Chivas USA 2 (7-2-3) Chicago Fire 3 (5-0-6)
A stupid push in the back by Chivas USA right back Mariano Trujillo on Brian McBride in the box
just moments before the game ended gave Cuauhtemoc Blanco the opportunity to convert his second PK
of the night and extend the Fire's undefeated streak to eleven.

The other day I was watching television and saw an advertisement for something called Aciphex. As
far as I can tell, it's a medication for acid reflux. I'm sure it's a fine product full of wondrous
medicinal properties, but I can't help but think that the people who named it are off snickering to
themselves right now.
If there was ever a doubt that the Premier League is the greatest league in the world, then tell
the non-believers to watch today's Manchester derby. What a game. What a game!
The match is an instant classic and a brilliant advertisement for football and the Premier
League. Played at a blistering pace at times and with plenty of sensational goals, this game had
everything.

We received the following just moments ago by email from our good friend Dave who writes for the
Examiner.
Kyle the guy who is behind this ad campaign wrote the following to him:
Greetings!
Since we have shown you the excellent Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders FC, Houston's Dynamo Debut
and a really poorly done Red Bull New York ads we now give you the Revs entry into the fray:
Have you seen any new ads for your club? What are they like? Let us know in the comments.
Now that we've seen some of the clubs ads we can take a look at the league's own promo.
NOTICE: I would like to state it clearly before-handed that it is never my intention to make use of
the gentlemen depicted below as any form of advertisement or whatsoever for the BOCAP. As the caps
were given to them as a memento and keepsake out of my own will... Thank You.
"Hope you find this cap (BOCAP) handy" I told Robbie Fowler (above) as handing over the cap to him
while he was about to make his way of the football clinic last Saturday.
Alright, queue the hatred for Seattle but this ad is well done:
Sounders Advert from MLS Rumors on Vimeo.
It has been a curious summer for the "club across the water". Tranmere Rovers, just over the
River Mersey from Liverpool and Everton, ended last season having just missed out on a play-off
place in League One after dropping two points at home to Scunthorpe United on the final day season.
They sacked manager Ronnie Moore at the start of June and replaced him with John Barnes, and one
might have expected them to have had a quiet summer working on how they could improve on their
league position this time around.
Classic video advert by EA Sports I can't remember so many footballers in one common
advertisement...

The Chicago Fire and Best Buy helped launch the anticipated release of FIFA 2010 on Monday night
with hundreds of soccer, Fire, and Blanco fans in attendance.
A line of patient fans snaked out the door at 875 N. Michigan Avenue on a perfect Monday night.
Fans were able to meet Cuathemoc Blanco, Baggio Husidic, Patrick Nyarko, Wilman Conde, and Jon

Sorry it has been a while, leaves on the line or something. This isn't a proper match report as I
only watched on the TV, but I can safely say that this was a cracking match that I think made a
decent advertisement for football at this level. The stoppage-time equaliser by Lewis McGugan will

Phil Gregory got the score against Hull absolutely right, following on the overwhelmingly brilliant
prediction here for the Liverpool game. Indeed we also got the Burnley match absolutely right
apart from the score and the result. So here we go again with Phil's preview and prediction. Oh
and don't forget the excitingly stunning advertisement for "Making [.
My favorite World Cup advertisement is the Nike Secret Tournament. The 'short film' ad was filmed
in correlation with the 2002 World Cup in Japan. The premise of the ad is taking 24 of the world's
best players (at the time) and have them compete in a secret caged football match in the belly of a
cargo ship.
