I don't know how many of y'all mess with The Knife's weird Swedish asses but for some reason I've got "Silent Shout" stuck in my head this a.m. I know it's entirely too early in the day —and the week for that matter— for claustrophobic, neo-goth drug music but this is a classic. Eren Derdiyok scored a simply sublime goal this past weekend for Bayer Leverkusen against Wolfsburg. It was the type of goal that you'll have to watch more than once to marvel at what the Swiss striker of Kurdish descent actually did.

The Fire knew that Sunday's match was a must win. Instead of winning though, the team had their worst performance of the season, losing 4-2 in a game full of mistakes from both teams. The match was a terrible advertisement for MLS with dozens of misplaced passes, terrible refereeing decisions, and little creative play.

Japan are the newest World Champions of women's football after defeating the USA 3-1 on penalties after a 2-2 extra time draw in the Women's World Cup final. It was the best World Cup final that I have ever seen in either gender, and a fantastic advertisement for the women's version of the game. It was a just reward for a team devoted to an attractive style of play, and a morale boost for a country that experienced a horrific natural disaster four months before.

Rodolfo Borrell will take his Liverpool reserve side to Ireland next month for a pre-season friendly against Bray Wanderers.

I think every poker game has one of these guys the fat man victory dance! This is the latest very humorous advertisement from PokerStars.

The story behind the commercials is PokerStars latest project Home Games, which allows poker players to compete against friends in private games online.
