A completely new radio station hits the airwaves in Southend on Friday. Southend Radio fought off competition from three other bids two years ago. Now, after all the planning and hard work the station will start broadcasting from 8am.
The station has been funded by Phillip Miller - owner of Adventure Island - a man who has put a lot of effort into regenerating the seafront and invested a great deal of time in the town.
