Well, this is pretty cool. I sent out a couple of tweets from Coach Jon Leamy when he attended an indoor adult men's tournament in St Louis recently that included a team made up of Missouri State Bear's men's soccer alumni. Well, check out the latest note from Coach Leamy:

It is with both a great deal of pride and pleasure that I am announcing that a generous gift has been made to our Missouri State University Soccer Program.

The Croatian Eagles will have a major presence at next month's U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II Championships.

Three more teams from the club qualified for the event on Saturday, with the men's Major, men's Under-23 and women's teams joining the men's Under-20 side in earning spots at the tournament June 18 to 20 at Gaelic Park in Chicago.

They've been saying it for years. Someday with all the kids playing soccer in the US, it will surpass all the other major sports. But year after year that didn't happen. In fact there was a definite disconnect between the youth soccer player and the young adult soccer watcher who somewhere in the years from 16-25 totally loose touch with the game and become ambivalent.

Missouri Southern are again hosting a 7v7 tourney on the turf. So rain or shine, we will have good field conditions. We hope to have ten teams for the men's and women's dates, meaning a minimum of four 25 minute games for each team.

Hialeah, FL (February 17, 2010). On Tuesday, February 16, 2010, El Nuevo Herald Copa Latina held its tournament draw at the Rusty Pelican restaurant in Key Biscayne. Using the same format as the World Cup Draw, all 32 teams selected to compete in this year's tournament were seeded, and the first-round schedule was announced.

Once again after waiting and hoping on pins and needles about the dates and the format of US Soccer's version on England's FA Cup, we can all breath again and get ready for this season's tournament. Since 1914 the second oldest cup competition in the game will begin its 96th season on June 15th.

The seeds held in the semifinals of the Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League playoffs Saturday.

Top-seeded Croatian Eagles cruised past No. 4 seed United Serbians 4-1, while the second-seeded Milwaukee Kickers got past Milwaukee Sport Club 3-2 to advance to next Sunday's final.

Stadler had two more goals, taking his season total to 11 in seven games, as the Eagles cruised past Milwaukee Brewers FC 5-1 in a Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League match Sunday afternoon at Brown Deer High School.

2010 Thunderdome InvitationGentlemen: Crowder College is proud to present Thunderdome XXVIII on Friday February 19, Saturday February 20 and Sunday February 21, 2010 in the Bob Sneller Gymnasium. Thunderdome is the longest running indoor tournament in the country and follows a modified Futsal format.

With a week off before the Major Indoor Soccer League championship game, the Milwaukee Wave will stay sharp by playing an exhibition match March 27 at Keva Sports Center in Middleton.

The Wave, who have clinched the MISL regular-season title heading into Saturday's finale against the Philadelphia KiXX at the U.

Madison United manager Raj Rajani has nearly finalized the 13-player roster for his team's match against the Major Indoor Soccer League regular-season champion Milwaukee Wave.

United, which won the Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League outdoor title last spring, will play the Wave in an exhibition game Saturday night at Keva Sports Center in Middleton.

The Kansas City Wizards will play fellow MLS side Colorado Rapids on Tuesday, April 13th at 7:30 p.m. CT in a qualifying game for the 2010 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. The game will take place at the Stanley H. Durwood Stadium on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, which is located at the intersection of Cherry Street and East 51st Street.

Under the category of 'time flies' it's once again time to reach out to Springfield's professional representative, Jack Jewsbury. The new Major League Soccer website is as bad as you've heard, there is not a roster link on the KC Wizard's website to point you to.

Just one game into the spring portion of the Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League season, Madison United already has matched its victory total from the fall.

Dave Martinez (UW) scored twice and Royston Ngwayah added a goal in his return to the team as United knocked off Club Latino 3-1 on a wet, windy and brisk Sunday afternoon at Grant Park in South Milwaukee.

The first-round pairings are set for the Wisconsin Men's Amateur Cup, with four Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League teams shooting for the state's berth in the U.S. Adult Soccer Association Region II tournament.

A draw Tuesday night determined that Madison United will play host to Bavarian SC and United Serbians will entertain Croatian Eagles in the opening round, with matches to be completed by May 31.

The Show-Me State Games, which includes soccer for teams ranging from 2010 Age Groups
U 6 (Born on or after 8/1/03) up to U18 (Born on or after 8/1/91) as well as Over 30 Men, Over 40 Men and Over 50 Men have moved the Adult Open portion of the competition from the traditional August dates to the June 11-13 dates.

As reported at IMS several weeks ago, Minnesota will have 2-teams competing this year for a spot in the US Open Cup Tournament. The USOC is the oldest sports tournament in the US. Teams from all levels can compete in the tournament but they must first qualify while all 2nd Division teams like the NSC Stars are automatically entered into the tournament.

Marco Vidal's journey has been like that of many Mexican-American youth pursuing the dream of playing professional soccer.

United German Hungarians (UGH) have one of the longest histories of any soccer team in Philadelphia. This weekend they celebrate their 100th anniversary by hosting the United States Adult Soccer Association's National Cup final. UGH have won the competition twice, in 1965 and 1999, having played in the final five times.

The state's top men's amateur league, the Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League, starts its 2010-11 season next weekend.

The league includes 10 teams this season, two more than in recent years, with the additions of Milwaukee Brewers FC and USA Palermo. Those teams played in the WASA Reserve League last season, with the Brewers going 12-1-5 and winning the regular-season title before being upset in the playoffs.

Like many soccer clubs in their area, Milwaukee Brewers FC has a storied history.

Just not in the past few decades.

Brewers FC, founded by employees of the Schlitz Brewery in 1947, played friendlies against top-flight German clubs FC Nuremburg and Hertha Berlin in the 1950s and '60s.

Only one of the five Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League openers scheduled for Sunday was played, with the others postponed due to several teams having problems getting players registered for the 2010-11 season.

In the day's lone match, the Croatian Eagles opened their title defense with a 10-0 rout of league newcomer USA Palermo in Franklin.

Steve Sperl scored in the 85th minute to give Milwaukee Sport Club a 1-1 draw with host Bavarian SC in a Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League amateur men's match Sunday afternoon.

The Milwaukee sides were scoreless until Giovanni Luna put Bavarian (0-0-2) ahead in the 70th minute, but Sperl's late goal gave Sport Club (0-0-1) a point and extended their unbeaten streak – they're 7-0-2 in their past nine regular-season league matches.

Andy Stadler had a hat trick as defending champion Croatian Eagles routed perennial power Bavarian SC 6-0 in a Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League men's amateur match Sunday afternoon at Croatian Park in Franklin.

Jason Willan, Ramon "Choko" Alvarado and newcomer Papi also scored as Croatians extended their regular-season Majors unbeaten streak to eight (7-0-1).

The KC Jaguars FC of the National Star Soccer League were crowned North Central Conference champions on Saturday at CommunityAmerica Ballpark with a dramatic 2-0 victory over Emporia Pumas FC. Striker Jonny Rueda scored both goals for the Jaguars, including the championship-clinching goal with less than five minutes remaining.

Steve Sperl's diving header in the final seconds gave host Milwaukee Sport Club a thrilling 1-0 victory over Club Latino in a battle of Wisconsin Adult Soccer Association Major League unbeatens Sunday afternoon.

Sport Club improved to 2-0-1 and remained right behind the league-leading Croatian Eagles (3-0-1) and United Serbians (3-0-0), while Club Latino lost for the first time after drawing their first three games of the season.

Sounders Celebrate 2009 Open Cup Win

The Seattle Sounders will host the Columbus Crew tonight at Qwest Field in the 97th US Open Cup Final. The game is being shown live on Fox Soccer Channel and it kicks off at 9pm. Both teams are aiming for their second Open Cup championship in team history, with the Crew winning in 2002, and the Sounders capturing it in 2009.
