I just wanted to include a link and comment on this article by Kartik Krishnaiyer on the Major
League Soccer Talk blog about Sven Goran Eriksson's early success with the Mexican national team
and how the U.S. National Team could learn from that. I essentially agree that Eriksson has done a
good job with Mexico and that I too was somewhat skeptical about this appointment when it was made.
This article from the New York Times where John Harkes outlines his concerns about the U.S National
Team is very interesting, and also happens to echo a lot of the same things that I've been writing
about. Basically the premise is that while the U.S. has gotten the results that it had needed, they
still is room for improvement, especially in attack.
Well, it wasn't pretty, but we ground out another win on the road and this time around I think
there were a few more positives trickled through the match. Sure, our lineup still lacked the
youth and excitement that so many of us dream of (Jozy, Cooper, Adu), but there were some strong
performances on [.
I have to hand it to Bob Bradley and the U.S. National Team, they really came through and took care
of business with the 3-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago. We even got to see a goal from Brian Ching
so you know it was a terrific night. Clint Dempsey got his 4th goal in 4 matches. The defense
looked really solid and Michael Bradley took his European success and showed what the hype was all
about with a nice goal.
