Brazil take on Italy tonight in London and a capacity crowd of around 60,000 are expected in the
Emirates Stadium. This is the fourth time Brazil have played at Arsenal's home ground.
Kaká, Dunga and Adriano ponder tonight's clash with Argentina
Brazil head to Argentina today knowing that a win could see them qualify for next year's World
Cup in South Africa. Dunga's men need the three points in the estádio Gigante in Rosario and
require Colombia to beat Ecuador in Medellin earlier in the day.
The matches to watch after you realize that life back in Brazil is treating Adriano pretty
friggin good. (Her name is Cassia Menega and she's a 22-year-old university student.)

Chelsea v Blackburn at Stamford Bridge Carlo Ancelotti may not be in the dugout for
this one, as he returned to Italy this week to tend to his ill 86-year-old father.
The 2008 Campeonato Brasileiro came to an end a mere six weeks ago. But professional football has
returned to Brazil with the start of the 27 state championships. But as ever, we on Brazilian
football will be focusing on the oldest and most competitive tournament: São Paulo's
Campeonato Paulista.
Adriano: They call me mellow yellow
Dunga has called up 22 players for the World Cup qualifying clashes against Argentina in Rosario
on September 5th and Chile in Salvador four days later.
Flamengo forward, Adriano, is the name that stands out. The player is one of the top scorers in
the Campeonato Brasileiro with ten goals to his name.

Adriano has been doing really well since returning to Brazil and getting his head back together.
So well, in fact, that people are even using his image on their products. Unfortunately, those
products are drugs.
From the Corriere dello Sport:
Now that Adriano is back in Rio de Janeiro and is the top scorer in the Brazilian championship
with Flamengo, he's so popular that his picture is even selling packets of drugs.
The meeting of one great footballing mind and Dunga
Brazil take on England in Doho, Qatar, for the first of three international friendlies before
the World Cup finals in South Africa next year.
Dunga's men see the England game as a real test against one of their main contenders in the
competition in 2010.
So one of the major stories after the international break was that Adriano never returned to
Italy. Inter were expecting him to be in Milan the Tuesday after the international break, and he
never showed up. Early reports were he had simply missed his flight after a party, but as the days
passed and he still failed to show up reports were something was wrong.
Neymar and Ronaldo: just two of the big stars in this year's Brasileiro
The dust has barely settled on the major state championships, but already it's time to focus on
Brazil's national league – the Campeonato Brasileiro.
The 2008 competition was one of the closest for years but this season could be even tighter.
En lo que fue el segundo partido de pretemporada los Dorados de
Sinaloa ganaron a su filial de Dorados Mochis 3-1 en cotejo celebrado este miércoles en las

Placar magazine, the most traditional and popular soccer magazine in Brazil, put together in its
June issue a ranking with the biggest salaries in Brazilian football. The leader? Ronaldo,
obviously. And as a reminder: Nowadays, US$1 = R$2.05.
1°- Ronaldo* (Corinthians) = R$ 1.133.000
2°- Adriano** (Flamengo) = R$ 362.
Clube de Regatas do Flamengo is a Brazilian multisport club located in Rio de Janeiro. Flamengo's
football/soccer team is one of the most popular club in Brazil with an estimated 35 million
supporters and placed 9th in the FIFA Clubs of the 20th Century ranking. Other nicknames used by
fans for Flamengo include "Fla", "Mengo", and "Mengão" [.
Hulk, Michel Bastos, Fábio Aurélio, Carlos Eduardo
Dunga has called up 24 players to face England on November 14th in Doha, Qatar, and Oman three
days later in Muscat.
The squad includes Liverpool's Lucas and Fábio Aurélio plus Manchester City's Robinho. Porto
frontman, Givanildo Vieira de Souza (Hulk), gets his first call-up.
Let's divert our attention away from South American football, shall we, and take a closer look at
something else that's taking place in the region... Carnaval in Brazil! For the unaware, Carnaval
is celebrated in Brazil four days before Ash Wednesday (yeah, don't give me that look amigos).
Modern carnival originated in Rio in 1641.

When Adriano first signed with Flamengo, his kit featured a question mark on the back instead of
an actual number a symbol which not only foreshadowed his sporadic disappearances, but the
ever-changing digits that occupy that very space on his shirt.
For a while, Adriano wore #29, but he has apparently taken things to a new level, as he wore
#100 in yesterday's match against Fluminese.

omission is the red-hot Juventus striker, Amauri who [.

There have been many occasions in recent years where the genius of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger
has been brought into question. After all, the trophy cabinet has been empty for four years and
everyone, from skipper Cesc Fabregas to that little child in the upper tier at the
Emirates, is becoming increasingly restless with the club's underachievements.
Remember if you have any questions for the players or coaches, post here before
halftime and I will do what I can.

PRE-GAME:

time.
Luisão heads home for Brazil
A headed goal by Luisão and a brace from Luís Fabiano earned Brazil a deserved 3-1 against
Argentina in Rosario. Dátolo scored Argentina's consolation goal. This was Argentina's first home
defeat in 41 matches. The result ensured Dunga's team a place in the World Cup finals in South
Africa next year with three rounds to spare.
Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan held on for a victory which took them 11 clear of
third-placed Milan. Adriano dubiously used an arm to convert Maicon's cross on 28 minutes. Dejan
Stankovic then capitalized on an Inter defe3nsive blunder three minutes before the break to put the
champions 2-0 up.
Brazil coach Dunga has named his following squad for the COMNEBOL FIFA World Cup 2010
qualifiers away to Ecuador on March 29 and at home to Peru on April 1. It is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Doni (AS Roma) Defenders: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Maicon
(Inter Milan), Lucio (Bayern Munich), Miranda (Sao Paulo), Thiago Silva (AC [.
Inter's Brazilian striker Adriano has stunned the football world by declaring that he wants to quit
football for the time being, allowing himself to sort his own personal issues out.
Where have all the players gone?
Petulance, stupidity and immaturity are words that are used in conjunction with Premier League
footballers, by pundits, journalists and fans, but this season we've seen a new so called wave of
prima- donna behaviour from highly paid football stars. Starting at the bottom of the pile we have
the case of Amir Zaki, whose loan spell at Wigan this season has certainly brought to attention
some of footballs biggest clubs (following enquiries from Bayern Munich and Manchester City in
January) after making a brilliant start to his season scoring 7 goals in his first 8 games.

Mercurial Brazilian striker Adriano has signed with Brazilian giants Flamengo. The club unveiled
the sometime Brazilian national team hitman at a press conference yesterday evening. The
27-year-old returns to the Rio de Janeiro side where he made his playing debut in 2000. A year
later he moved to Italy's Inter Milan.
In the end it lasted no more than two months. No sooner had Adriano torn up his contract, seemingly
out of love with football, than he was back in the headlines scoring goals. For this past weekend...
Gimenez, Mauro Gerk e inclusive Lucas Siva y Héctor Hurtado.
Atlético Mineiro go top
Celso Roth's revitalization of Atlético Mineiro continued on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over
Náutico in Belo Horizonte. The win, plus Internacional's 0-0 draw at home to Vitória, was enough
to lift Atlético into pole position on goal difference. Júnior, Diego Tardelli and Márcio
Araújo did the damage.
Atlético Mineiro's Carlos Alberto celebrates against Santos
League leaders Atlético Mineiro had to come from behind to beat Santos 3-2 in the Vila Belmiro.
And with Internacional slipping up away at Flamengo, Celso Roth's team were able to open up a three
point gap at the top.
Neymar scored his first goal in the Brasileiro for Santos on the stroke of half-time.
After the 10th round of Campeonato Brasileiro, Atletico-MG returned to the top after the 3-0
victory in the Belo Horizonte derby. Besides the pathetic red card by Cruzeiro's Ze Carlos, the men
of the match were veteran Junior and forward Eder Luis - even though in his goal goalie Andrey gave
a big help.

Adriano celebrates against Corinthians
"O campeão voltou" or ‘the champions are back" was the cry coming from the 28,000 or so who
were in the estádio Morumbi to see São Paulo beat an in-form Goiás 3-1.
For most of this season, São Paulo have languished in the wrong half of the table.

So it's Day 2 of the Soldados Bootcamp and they're already bullying Robinho! Anyway, the
manos did field work yesterday while Daniel Alves, Luisão, Ramires and
Elano were immediately sent to the gym upon arrival. Muito grave, indeed!
For training, Dopey divided the squad into two teams- Julio Cesar, Maicon,
Lúcio, Miranda, André Santos; Gilberto Silva, Felipe Melo, Julio Baptista, Kaká; Robinho and
Luís Fabiano formed one side while Victor, Cristian, Gérson, Juan and Filipe; Sandro, Lucas,
João Pedro and Wellington; Nilmar and Adriano made up the other.
Blue is the colour
For their penultimate game in the WC qualifiers, Brazil take on Bolivia in La Paz and Dunga is
expected to make changes from his regular starting line-up. With Kaká, Gilberto Silva and Luis
Fabiano all rested, the coach could test Josué, Miranda, and Diego Souza. The latter two have had
good seasons for São Paulo and Palmeiras respectively but have yet to secure a place in the squad
for next year's finals.
