It was a Saturday of spankings in Major League Soccer. Four of the seven matches were decided by
three goals or more, as teams from New York, Philadelphia and Seattle turned in lackluster (or
worse) performances. The LA Galaxy continued their dominance in the latest sign that maybe, just
maybe, MLS' culture of parity is coming undone a bit.
Poor Chivas USA just can't get a break when it comes to playing the Houston Dynamo. Last month,
Chivas USA came to Houston looking to kick the Dynamo, who had just lost 0-2 at home to the L.A.
Galaxy, while they were down. Unfortunately for Chivas, the Dynamo bounced back with a solid 3-0
victory.
HOUSTON, Tex Team icon Brian Ching, fellow 2010 MLS All-Star Brad Davis and talented, young
midfielder Geoff Cameron highlight the list of 11 players the Dynamo will protect during
Wednesday's expansion draft. The Dynamo could protect 11 players, and they chose to protect Ching,
Davis, Cameron, Lovel Palmer, Bobby Boswell, Colin Clark, Mike Chabala, [.
The fat, yawning kid is far less likely to give away that ball than Nick Garcia
Every TFC promo since the beginning of the season has been touting the beginning of a "new era"
under Preki. This fresh start is apparently the change we've been waiting for. Much like the new
era that started under John Carver - but with less likeable players.
What a fantastic match this was down at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas. The action was hot
and heavy along with the terrible weather this time of the season and of course the first league
match for Thierry Henry with the New York Red Bulls facing the Dynamo.
The action got started in the first ten minutes of the match when Carlos Mendes made a quick
pass to Henry and attacked down the near side.
Just saw this on the WV Hooligan blog that Dynamo just traded to get the rights to Adrian Serioux.
(And click here for the Toronto Sun's story on the deal.)
Personally, I think this is a great move as it really shores up the Route 1 defense while Geoff
Cameron finds his footing in the CAM role.
Defender/midfielder Adrian Serioux is once again a member of the Houston Dynamo, after the club
traded a third-round 2011 SuperDraft pick to Toronto. Houston originally traded Serioux to Dalas,
where he spent two seasons. He joined Toronto in 2009.
The Chicago Fire's lengthy courtship of striker Collins John has finally concluded with a
contract that will make the former Fulham standout the Fire's newest attacking weapon.
John will be called on to help pick off the offensive slack left by the departures of
Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Chris Rolfe this winter and the strong target striker should former a good
partnership with veteran Brian McBride, his former strike partner at Fulham.

Mo Johnston isn't accustomed to sitting still in the days leading up to the annual MLS SuperDraft.
Indeed, his tendency to move players and draft picks around like chess pieces has earned Johnston
the nickname ‘Trader Mo' from some around the league. With the club having just two picks in this
year's draft (and none in the first round), it was expected that the club would wheel and deal in
an effort to move up the list.

With BMO Field selected as the 2010 MLS Cup host, Toronto F.C. has a bit more motivation at
reaching the promised land.
The only problem is, the team doesn't quite have the horses to get there.
Preki enters his first season as Toronto coach with a lot of work to do.
When Toronto FC ended the 2009 season by being destroyed 5-0 at the hands of a mediocre New York
Red Bulls, the feelings of shock and anger looked destined to be the catalyst for real and
significant change. Immediately, the interim manager was dispatched and surprisingly quickly was
replaced with MLS stalwart Preki.
Apologies for the long absence, but it's been a busy time for me at my day job, but with the 2010
Major League Soccer season about to begin, thanks to a new Collective Bargaining Agreement, it's
time for me to get y'all some information.
First of all, the big news is that on Saturday MLS and the MLS Players Union announced they have
reached a new 5 year CBA.

CARSON, CALIF- Goals from Brad Davis and Adrian Serioux in the first ten minutes of the match
helped the Houston Dynamo beat Chivas USA, 2-0, at the Home Depot Center on Saturday night.
Wow! Brad Davis with the acrobatic goal! Adrian Serioux adds the insurance goal in only the 8th
minute.

Marx: "Up The Reds"
The first Monday of September isn't just the last day you are legally allowed to drink beer in
sandals, it is also Labour Day (yes, spelled with a "u" up here our Yankee pals) - the day where
workers of the world are celebrated. It is a day to honour ("u" again!) the hard working men and
women toiling in all kinds of conditions in such places as football scarf knitting sweatshops, chip
butty assembly lines and novelty vuvuzela factories.

First of all my apologies to our readers who are still waking up from
the migraine caused by one of Toronto FC's all-time gutless performances, losing 1-0 at home to DC
United yesterday. I'd love to tell you there's a silver lining - but this is TFC we're talking
about.
Fall is officially in the air this morning. And you know what that means: the playoff hunt is
in full effect.
One team that came closer to realizing its postseason dream was Kansas City,
who overcame a two goal-deficit at the half to beat Houston 4-3 at
CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

Josh Wolff picked an appropriate time for his second goal of the 2010 season. The former USMNT
forward capped off a second half rally with a 96th minute winner, as Kansas City erased a two-goal
deficit, defeating the Houston Dynamo 4-3 and keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Here is a look at the 2010-11 off-season calender for the Dynamo. Not all dates and events are
set in stone, but I'll be keeping you updated all through the winter on all these events.
First up, the Expansion Draft and the release of the Dynamo's protected list. I'll be
speculating on who the Dynamo might protect and who they could expose for potential selection by
the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps.
"If this is it, please let me know" -Huey Lewis
Well, this is it and I'm letting you know. The 2010 Houston Dynamo season comes to a close this
afternoon as the playoff bound Seattle Sounders come to town. Once the referee blows the final
whistle somewhere in the vicinity of 5:00pm, the book will close on what has been a long and
frustrating season for the Dynamo.

"Does this beard look too interim-y?"
Earl Cochrane took a step forward in becoming a "real boy" today by acting like all the other
non-interim MLS GMs and Directors and passing on the Stage 1 Re-Entry Draft. Despite the available
talent, the wage and transaction restrictions in Stage 1 made most MLS clubs, apart from Columbus
and DC United, stay dormant, preferring for the added freedom that Stage 2 presents next week.
