A statement said traces of anti-obesity drug sibutramine were found in a sample after a Serie A match between his Fiorentina side and Bari on 10 January.

The Romanian international, Mutu, has been linked with a move away from current club Fiorentina in the winter transfer window. The once world class striker has a history of off field issues.

"I will be in Italy for the final week of the transfer market," the player's agent, Giovanni Becali, said. "There are several clubs interested in Mutu, clubs that would definitely allow him to increase his wages. There are clubs keen on the player from Russia, Turkey but especially England.

UPDATE: According to ESPN Soccernet, Adrian Mutu is unlikely to join Manchester City. Mutu told prosport.ro,

"Will I go to Manchester City? I don't think so ... At the moment, I just want to have a successful second half of the season with Fiorentina .

The world of Drugs was rocked yesterday by reports that traces of Adrian Mutu had been found in a random test. Though Drugs has denied the charge, this is believed to be the second time that it has tested positive for the Fiorentina striker.
