Roberto Donadoni's head is on the chopping block in this live online and radio commentary Euro 2008
group match between Italy and Romania live and he needs to come up with a perfect solution to the
world champion's woes or risk being sacked. There might be a complete change in formation and line
up for them in this live online streaming match with the team moving towards a more attacking
strategy with players who can score.
After a few days of training with Bayern Munich this week, the LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan seems to
have made a believer out of Bayern general manager Uli Hoeness who after watching him in practice
told the Rheinischer Post "He can play."
But even though Bayern coach Juergen Klinsmann was already sold on the 26 year-old American and
Hoeness now appears to be a believer, its still not clear if a deal will be in the offing.
As compiled Ali Martin writing in the Sun - in order of increasing floppiness.

I had the privilege of being a guest on World Soccer Daily yesterday and talked with hosts Steven
Cohen and Kenny Hassan on the approaching Serie A season as well as potential transfers
and finally FIFA's decision to fine Adrian Mutu £13.68 million. Audio Segment For those of you

Unfortunately for fans of the Azzurri, Italy´s EURO 2008 campaign is now little more than a
distant and shabby memory. While the nation licks its wounds, our resident Italian football
correspondant Henry N. consoles himself by taking one last look back at the 2007/2008 Serie A
campaign and compiling his Team of the Season: GK: Sebastian FREY (Fiorentina)
Crikey, as we say in England. The reasons why Robinho was willing to relocate to Manchester
suddenly become clear:
The 24-year-old has agreed a four-year contract that makes him the highest-paid
footballer in the history of the game, with a weekly salary of £160,000.
For those of you not used to the quaint habit that British newspapers have of expressing
multi-million pound salaries in a working-class "weekly wage" fashion, let's put it this
way: that amounts to about $15 million a year.
Shalke have fined their right back Rafinha $1,000,000. His crime? Going AWOL from club duty to
represent Brazil at the Olympics. Rafinha is basically a victim of the CAS ruling that clubs didn't
have to release under-23 players for Olympic duty. But still, one million dollars? That's a hefty
sum even for a top flight footballer.
You look devine in purple What is it with these Italian clubs and Champions League football? It
makes them want to show their team-mates a real good time. Here is Felipe Melo offering Fiorentina
team-mate Adrian Mutu his congratulations on a nice goal.
It's been a turbulent decade for Fiorentina, but it's happy times in Florence again, as the Viola
are winning both domestically and continentally. Along with challenging for a place in next
season's UEFA Champions League, Cesare Prandelli's side are set to face three-time defending Dutch
champions PSV in the quarterfinals of the UEFA [.
In times of financial crisis like these, who do you feel most sorry for? Roman Abramovich and
Chelsea FC, undoubtedly. If anyone needs money, it's clearly them. First forcing Adrian Mutu into a
McDonald's drive-thru window once his playing days are over to do penance for his sins, now going
after little Norwegian club Lyn [.
Italy 2, France 0
Holland 2, Romania 0
What was expected to be one of the tournament's signature matches was a bit of a letdown, but you
won't hear Italian fans complaining. The Azurri earned a spot in the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win
over France, combined with Romania's 2-0 loss to Holland.
By now, if you're like me, the on again, off again story of where Adrian Mutu will be playing next
season is turning into one of those irritating rumour mills. Seemingly in a perfect playing
environment at Fiorentina and well respected by management, the initial clatter of his movement
seemed
1 - 0 Adrian Mutu 3'
2 - 0 Alberto Gilardino 58'

Adrian Mutu gets credit for this beauty in a Champions League third-round match with Slavia
Prague.
It can't get much better than that...
It's Barcelona's to lose. Even the four one seeds teams who find themselves as potential opponents
(Chelsea, Arsenal, Lyon & Inter - and they're Barca's only potential opponents) are desperately
hoping to avoid the Barcelona lottery. The Catalans are simply, undeniably playing the best
football on the planet right now.
Gianluigi Buffon, world class keeper ... and apparently Wild West bank robber, as well. For the
time being, Buffon nudges ahead of Casillas and Cech for the mantle of World's Best Keeper, until
the inevitable Texas Tornado ladder match in a couple weeks in front of the International Court of
Justice in The Hauge.
They say as a goalkeeper ages he becomes greater at his craft. I believe that the statement is
true. How can you fault Gianluigi Buffon, with such a repertoire in between the sticks, the man
commands respect for his ability, and is rightly so rated the best goalkeeper on the planet.
I won't go into the details here as both Steve and Liviu's coverage of Euro 2008 pretty much
sums up the save you are about to witness again (if you have not seen it already, be ready to gasp
in awe).
It has been reported by Luca Fallica in Il Tempo that Adrian Mutu's agent Alessandro Moggi and
Roma's Daniele Pradè have met and come to terms after significant difficulties with Adrian's
contract demands in Fiorentina. However before you go out and pick up your new Roma kit with

After weeks of speculation, Fiorentina has announced it has received a formal offer by Roma for
Adrian Mutu. Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is expected the offer is in the €20m range.
Updates to follow as more information becomes available.
ROMA - La doccia gelata, in casa Roma,
Self-explanatory, eh? Adrian Mutu: Fiorentina v Slavia. Christian Pander: Schalke v Atletico.
Alessandro Del Piero: Juventus v Artmedia. Hatem Ben Arfa & Benoit Cheyrou: Marseille v Brann.
Simao: Panathinaikos v Sparta. Goal of the Matchday? ( polls) Thanks to 101GreatGoals.com for the

And with the season upon us, it's time for more predictions which will almost certainly not come
true because my crystal ball is dirty and unreliable. Just like Man City's ownership. The Big

moneyed foursome clotting the top of [.
At the time, somehow it slipped quite under the radar that back in June the FIFA powers-that-be
ruled that Adrian Mutu owed Chelsea the princely sum of £9.6million for the whole cocaine
debacle that led to the termination of his contract and subsequent free move abroad to Juventus.
Now though, after a further two months of appeals, FIFA's pompously-titled Disputes Resolution
Chamber has decided that close to £10million was clearly just a ridiculous sum for an
individual to pay, even a footballer.

Victor Piţurcă named Romania's squad the starts World Cup qualifying this Saturday in
Cluj against Lithuania. Injuries have hit the Tricolorii hard as they will be without Cristian
Chivu, Adrian Mutu, Razvan Rat, Florentin Petre, who has been playing brilliantly for Terek Grozny
in the Russian Premier League and Steaua
Simple and straight-forward, "disaster" is the only way I can describe the unexpected
collapse as Lithuania defeated Romania 3-0 in Cluj. The absence of Cristian Chivu, Adrian Mutu,
Razvan Rat and Florentin Petre was obviously too much for Victor Piţurcă's squad to deal
with as the visitors completely dominated play.
Italy 1-1 Romania. The Azzurri ain't out of Euro 2008 just yet, but there's not much keeping them
in. Their defence is still shaky, the midfield looked a little better but quickly ran out of ideas
(especially Pirlo), and Luca Toni still cruelly remains goalless. Well... to be honest he did score
today, but the [.
Italy 1, Romania 1
Holland 4, France 1
Any questions? Holland continued their dream run through the Group of Death with a 4-1 win over
France. The win clinches the top spot in Group C for Marco Van Basten's men after a sweep of the
finalists from the 2006 World Cup. As they did in their opener, Holland took the early lead but
never let up on the pressure.
Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring as Holland continued their impressive start to Euro 2008
by defeating France 4-1 on Friday night. Kuyt headed home from a corner inside 20 minutes to give
Marco Van Basten's side the lead.
Holland, who defeated World Champions Italy 3-1 in their opening game, were impressive again with
Kuyt replaced at half time allowing Arjen Robben and Robin Van Persie to combine to make it 2-0.
Italy 1-1 Romania
I know there were some people out there who picked Romania as the dark horse candidates for this
tournament -- not me, sadly, but it looks like those people were pretty smart.
After the embarrassment of their defeat against the Netherlands, Roberto Donadoni made a number of
changes to the Italian lineup, bringing Daniele de Rossi and Simone Perrotta into midfield
alongside Andrea Pirlo, giving Alessandro del Piero a start and rejigging the back line with Fabio
Grosso and Giorgio Chiellini.
Marcos Senna is being celebrated as a find, a player finally giving teeth to the much maligned
Spanish defence, a noteworthy ally in its potent attack. But he is in a minority because this Euro
shone a spotlight on the number of flatfooted defenses which became red meat for swift counter
attacks.
Luca Toni's topping the charts again... only this time, it isn't very flattering. English tabloid
The Sun just dished out another Top 10 list, regrouping the "Biggest flops" of this
Summer's Euro championship tournament. The Italy striker tops the list, despite receiving a pat on
the back from Bayern Munich chairman Karl Heinz Rummenigge.

alternativo, magari quello
ad albero di natale che avrebbe il
vantaggio di garantire una maglia
da titolare ad Alberto Aquilani
e a Totti, confermatissimo
nel ruolo di centravanti, di avere
alle spalle (o davanti) due punti
di riferimento con cui puntare alla
porta avversaria.
