Ruud Gullit's failure as the head coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer was
another example of a foreign-based manager not taking the time to learn the system of MLS or to get
a handle on being able to identify the American player.
In reading Andrea Canales' column on Goal.
Everton lost 2-1 to Tottenham this past weekend despite absolutely dominating play in the second
half. On loan US Men's National Team star Landon Donovan missed a wide open goal (the sitter of the
season) late in the second half.
Donovan has since apologized to his teammates. After an adrenaline-fueled first 4 weeks in England
playing out of his skin, Donovan has come to back earth in his last few outings and is set to
return to the US soon.

Sitting would be a good idea for Rooney right now...
Fabio Capello was on hand to see United win the Carling Cup on Sunday. I suppose it would have
been much less interesting if Wayne Rooney hadn't come in as a sub, with an injured knee, and won
the Cup for United, but Rooney worked through the pain and played the role of Superman beautifully
against Aston Villa.
Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates his goal against Valencia (AP)
It was a weekend for defenses in La Liga as only 17 goals were scored, making it one of the
lowest scoring rounds of the season so far.
Barcelona's lead over Real Madrid eroded this weekend after they drew with Espanyol in the
first-ever derby held at Cornell - El Prat.
Fifa World Cup is around the corner Gooners, it's time we got into the groove. 11G brings before
you 3 videos which'll get your adrenaline rushing for sure!
First up we have this wonderful video song by K'naan. It is also the
unofficial theme for the tourney (being Coca-Cola's official song for the tournament though).
This is a classic! I love the Ninja moves!
Players from my Jared Montz Pro Soccer Camp in Mandeville, Louisiana June 7-11, 2010 perform
their best "goal celebrations" for MontzTV! Some of the kids get real creative and some of them
just let the adrenaline take over, whatever they do it's all good!
Suspected rib injury sustained as Emile Heskey slid into him in the 30th minute.
Unsure whether these are soft tissue injuries/ bone bruises or something more sinister like
cracked ribs. Howard may need X-rays or scans to establish a diagnosis. A combination of cortisone
and adrenaline kept him in the game and he continued his brilliant form.
Michael Owen has claimed that he hopes to retire at Manchester United, with the plan of lasting
another five years like red legends Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville.
"I'd love this to be my last club," said Owen. "You look at Ryan Giggs and Gary
Neville and you like to think you have five more years in the game.
Well that was crazy wasn't it? I mean from the joy of watching United storm into a two goal lead
to the despair of watching Liverpool pull two goals back in the space of six minutes to the sheer
ecstasy of Dimitar rising high to head United 3-2 in front, and with lessons learnt from Fulham and
Everton and earlier in this game, United were never going to throw it away!
Dean Windass, who turned forty-one earlier this year, signed up to play for Scarborough Athletic
in the Northern Counties East League and should be playing for them on a game-by-game contract
soon. Some might regard this as a fall from grace, but the urge to keep playing is obvious and it
is to be hoped that Windass can do a job for The Seadogs this season.
Practically every weekend of the Premier League is filled with so much emotion, wonderful skills
and excitement that you have to wonder whether it's better than sex at times?
Consider other entertainment mediums. Books are great but no matter how suspenseful they are
they're already pre-written.
There are stories all over the web and in the press this morning that John Terry is fearing the
worst about the nerve problem he has in his right leg and it could keep him out for "months".
In the
Daily Mail the article includes an interview with Terry and he says:
‘I have been struggling with a nerve pain coming from the top of my leg down to my
hamstring and to the outside of my calf.
There are many games against Man United I remember for the right reasons.
Arsenal would play like my five-a-side team back home for most of the season, but would always
come into their own against United for some reason. Adrenaline rushes, Gatorade overdoses, pieces
of individual brilliance and downright miracles like offensive Henry headers and defensive
Sylvestre ones contributed to Arsenal having a better head-to-head record against the Red Devils
than most.
One of the major concerns, if not the major concern, of the World Cup in Qatar has been that
pesky issue of its location a very, very warm location. The summers are scorching and though their
big promise to world football was air conditioned stadiums, as many have said: you can't air
condition Qatar.
