In which, finding themselves 1-0 up over Montevideo Wanderers in the last few minutes of their
Uruguayan Premier League tie a week or so ago, a couple of Danubio players attempt to run the clock
down in the corner.
Taking umbrage at the time-wasting, irate Montevideo left-back Diogo takes a sly swipe at his
opponent on the touchline and is duly (and quite rightly) red-carded by the referee at the behest
of the linesman, who was standing a couple of feet away.
In light of Patrice Evra's allegations of racism against Luis Suarez in our draw with Liverpool
last weekend, John Terry has been accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand in Chelsea's defeat
to QPR today.
Footage circulated on the internet with the claim that Terry had called Ferdinand a "black
cunt".
Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs: where will Scott Parker end up? - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
Scott Parker's admission that he wants to leave West Ham for the Premier League will have piqued
the interest of many top clubs. The three sides thought to be heading the queue are Arsenal,
Liverpool and Tottenham, so here are the cases for and against the England midfielder joining each
of them.
I must admit something here that it just make me flare up whenever there is always such suggestions
from some quarters of the fans pleading the league authority to bring back the likes of Tanjong
Pagar United (which happened this year), Sembawang Rangers and Jurong FC back to the S.League.
Not because I don't support the idea of having these "sit-out" clubs back to the foray, nor I'm
whole-heartedly for the idea of having foreigner-based sides in our league (unless they have really
something positive to contribute).
The true Bundesliga opened today none of that Super Cup nonsense kicked off today in style today
as Borussia Dortmund, kiddie champions, set about picking right up from where they left off: as the
high-flying demolition unit which won last year's title.
This crop of youngsters is both extraordinary and very much the real deal.
By his own admission, Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson prefers playing in central midfield,
but since arriving at Anfield, he's been deployed on the right most of the time. Henderson is clear
about his best position, but unfortunately for him, his manager, Kenny Dalglish, is not.
In his press conference yesterday at Anfield, Dalglish was asked whether he knew what Henderson's
best position for Liverpool was yet.

It seems that in the interest of improving league broadcasts, Major League Soccer's broadcasting
department has set up a Twitter account specifically for TV-related feedback. Under the name
@MLSonTV, the account appeared yesterday with a call for any and all opinions fans might have on
the way the league is presented on the magic box - from announcers to the use of replay.
I would say that this season has probably seen me watch less football than I have done for quite a
while. First an admission. I got engaged, started a new job and started the process of moving
house. And yet I feel more passionate about the game now...

Bah, the sun is gone. So long summer, it was nice while it lasted.
A Sunday round-up for you begins with the Mirror saying Arsene Wenger has cut short his holiday
to deal with the futures of Cesc, Nasri and Arshavin, all of whom could leave the club this summer.
There's a shock. I had no idea their futures were in doubt at all.
Last week we looked at the prospect of Phil Jones coming to help in defence at Spurs. Of course,
this week saw him leave Blackburn for Manchester United but maybe that isn't the end of the trail
as far as Tottenham are concerned.
What has been notable in this transfer window is the admission and allegations of bids from
Tottenham that we weren't previously aware of and it's been suggested that we have made previous
offers for several players including Moussa Dembele and Serda Tasci.
The Madison men's Over-30 championship will be determined Friday night, as Madison United faces
Mad City FC in the Keva Sports Center league final at Firefighters Park Stadium in Middleton.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. and admission is free.
Madison United (9-6-2) had the best record in the six-team league during the spring portion of
the season (6-1-2), and avenged its lone loss with a 5-1 rout of second-seeded Europa in the
semifinals Monday night.
Liverpool reportedly wishes to wrap up a move for Aston Villa winger Stewart Downing by the end of
the week.
The left-sided player has been linked with a transfer away from the Birmingham-based club for some
time now, with his recent admission of wanting to play in Europe only fuelling the flames of
speculation.
We continue a great new feature on the Free Beer Movement site. In collaboration with the quality
soccer site, "The Other 87 Minutes" we present the "Tuesday XI" (and sometimes the "Tuesday Ten")
a thoughtful list on a variety of topics in the world of soccer.
What is this new site we're exposing you too?
It was a strange night of soccer Tuesday at Breese Stevens Field. And in the end, not very much
soccer.
The Madison 56ers and the Chicago Fire's Premier Development League played just more than 17
minutes of their second-round U.S. Open Cup match before the game was halted by lightning with the
Fire ahead 1-0.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has admitted that defender Jose Enrique is keen to quit the club and
move to one that will offer him Champions League football.
Enrique has been one of the club's best players over past seasons and Liverpool and Arsenal are
believed to be in the market for a left-back of his class.
They escaped by the skin of their teeth last season, but for Wigan Athletic there has been
little to get excited about this summer and there remains the distinct possibility of another long,
hard winter ahead for a club that has, over the last few seasons, battled against all odds to keep
hold of this most unexpected of Premier League places.
Not that there was ever any doubt, but we can finally tell you not that you don't already know
that Romelu Lukaku is officially a Chelsea player. Most triumphant.
Lukaku signed a five-year contract with the club, and will, as was reported yesterday, wear the
No. 18 shirt.
Liverpool pushed Andy Carroll too hard last term, says Kenny Dalglish
• 'Andy's fitness is an improvement' says Kenny Dalglish • Kyrgiakos departs, Cole and
Aquilani near exit door Kenny Dalglish has claimed Liverpool put too much pressure on Andy Carroll
to return from injury last season but will witness a marked improvement in the £35m striker now
that his fitness levels have increased.

A couple of other stories going on today, after the jump:
First, Bacary Sagna has admitted to feeling "hatred" for Pablo Zabaleta after the incident last
week which saw both men red-carded. Sagna is quoted as saying:
"I have been having to take kicks from opponents for a good many weeks without referees cracking
down on them.
Theo 'fesses up Theo Walcott's admission that he dived to try and win a penalty will sadly take the
shine off Arsenal's heroic draw against financially crippled Championship side Leeds United. For
us, Theo's post-match interview was as unnecessary as waxing your pecs – sure you get something
off your chest, but your left with [.
Whether mis-quoted or not (and I'm fairly sure he was) Denilson has made a valid point about the
lack of leaders in the Arsenal side.
True his actual quotes were taken from an interview meant only for the Arseblog and Arsenal Brazil
websites by a third party, sold to the sun and then put through their trashy, tabloid story spinner
in order to make dramatic if mis-leading headlines.

Kempston was once known as the largest village in England but is now a town. Until the 19th century
Kempston was a mainly rural parish. It was one of the largest in Bedfordshire with an area of 5,025
acres at the time of enclosure in 1804, and was in Redbournestoke Hundred.
Like most non-league football clubs, Bath City of the Blue Square Premier live a hand to mouth
existence. Indeed, Bath are in what could easily be described as a uniquely devilish position. Not
only are they a semi-professional club playing in a league in which the majority of clubs are now
full-time, but the city of Bath itself may also be considered something of a rugby stronghold.

Before the game between SAFFC and Etoile at Jalan Besar Stadium, I met someone I know just outside
the ground, along King George Avenue and had this brief conversation (as below).
Acquaintance: "Do you have free ticket?" as he's aware of my involvement in the scene.
Me: "Nope, I don't have it"
Acquaintance: "Cannot be, last time my who work as a photographer, always have free tickets to
matches"
Me: "Time changes as different people are 'calling the shots' now.

Having drunk from the soothing elixir of victory (and Guinness) this weekend, the Gooner nation
feels like a slightly lighter, breezier place this week. Facial muscles have relaxed, fists have
unfurled themselves and the grey matter feels as though it has been lubricated. A bit like that
feeling you get when you've had exactly 2 pints in the afternoon.
This Wednesday March 23, at 7.PM. the Fort Lauderdale Strikers will play in an exhibition match
against World tennis stars such as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokic, David Ferrer and more! (See the

match will be held at Ransom Everglades High School 3575 Main Highway Miami, FL 33133, admission is
free with requested donations to the Red Cross.
So the comments from Denilson are unsurprising, the admission that he has been wanting to leave
for the greater majority of the season have been replicated in his less than inspiring
performances. For me he typifies Arsene's philosophy so far.. big potential, an encouraging start
but then complacency slips in, laziness follows and the potential is not realised.
Which scenario will pan out?
Am attempting to start on the season review but still gathering my thoughts about it. Instead,
let's look at the Arsenal related news that has been going around.
Arsene Wenger is still sorting out contract talks with Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy. Both players
are entering the final year in their contract and are able to leave on a free next year if we don't
tie them up soon.
Martin Skrtel claims the changes he has witnessed at Anfield over recent months give him every
reason to believe 2011-12 can end in glory.
Few are in a better position to assess Liverpool's development over the last year than Skrtel, who
was involved in every minute of his club's league campaign this term.

Valencia President Slams Door on Mata Speculation
Valencia president Manuel Llorente has recently put to bed any notions that Juan Mata may leave
the club after the Spaniard insisted that the player is ‘not for sale at any price'. Liverpool
were among the suitors vying for the player's signature, but will now have to look elsewhere after
the latest admission.
