I had
my rant after the game here which created a bit of a stir (rightly so, and
have had some time to think. As a result, I want to focus on the ONLY positive that came out of the
defeat at Everton and that was AVB's admission he got it wrong.
Now like I said in my rant, I have been a supporter of AVB from the moment we was announced as our
manager right up to the game yesterday, but as we all know, what I witnessed has changed my
opinion.
In the wake of decision to suspend the 2012 WPS season, the Boston Breakers announced that they
exploring "other options" for fielding a team this year.
On Monday, the team issued a statement on its home page that while the organization remains
committed to restarting WPS, they would not rule out the possibility of entering the team into the
Women's Premier Soccer League of the USL-sponsored W-League for 2012.
Suarez bans himself from saying "negro" on English pitches Liverpool have gone some way towards
repairing the damage done by their mismanagement of the Luis Suarez racism controversy after their
star striker issued an apology. Only yesterday, manager Kenny Dalglish was sticking to his guns as
the club continued to claim they were being victimised [.

Morning all,
the good thing about the festive period is that if you stumble you've got a chance to make up
for it very quickly. The bad thing is that so much football in such a short period of time means
the possibility of stumbling is increased. We now have to wait until Monday to play again, this
time in the FA Cup, and it'll be a game in which we'll as many players as possible rested.
The FA has today published the reasons behind Luis Suarez's 8 match ban, after he was found
guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra.
Liverpool FC released a statement following the decision to ban Evra, falsely claiming that he
had made unfounded accusations of racism before. They also falsely claimed the FA had ruled simply
on the basis of one player's word against the other, when in fact video footage and Suarez's own
admission helped prove he was guilty.
Sir Alex Ferguson, the esteemed manager of Manchester United, has broken his silence on the
racism saga engulfing Liverpool Football Club and his own club. The two players involved, Luis
Suarez of Uruguay and Liverpool and Patrice Evra of France and Manchester United, had up until now
also kept a reserved silence, deciding to leave the entire affair in the hands of the British
football regulatory authorities, the FA.
World Cup winning defender Frank Laboeuf has admitted that he still can't see the logic behind Andy
Carroll's move to Liverpool.
The former Chelsea and France player, who famously man-marked Brazil's Ronaldo out of the game in
the 1998 World Cup final, argued:
"I always wondered why Carroll wanted to come to Liverpool, and why they asked him to come.

Full-time in Chelsea's last-minute loss in Leverkusen brought Pies' Heineken Star Player mini
league challenge to a close, with one lucky so-and-so (by his own admission!) winning a pair of
tickets to Manchester City's must-win final Champions League group game against Bayern Munich at
the Etihad on December 7th.
Not many of us will have experienced anything like it. There are 100,000 people in the stadium
urging you on while tens of millions round the country will have their fists clenched on the edge
of their seats in homes and warungs. Despite everyone being behind you it must be the loneliest
walks ever.
If it was up to the fans, Steven Gerrard would continue playing forever. Unfortunately, Liverpool's
captain is in the twilight of his career, and his retirement from the game will come sooner rather
than later. When is that likely to be though? Gerrard may have already revealed the answer.
According to Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas, Liverpool FC are genuine title contenders this
season. Given the club's patchy home form and continuing problems in front of goal, this doesn't
seem very likely, but you never know in football. Is AVB right?
Villas-Boas made his surprising admission during a press conference on Friday, arguing:
"I think Daglish has made the necessary changes for Liverpool to be considered title contenders
this year.

With a return to 4-5-1 inevitable, the consensus among Wolves fans was that Nenad Milijas, with
impressive performances as a substitute against Swansea and midweek against Man City, had done
enough to earn his second start of the season at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Instead, Milijas
was dropped from the match day squad.
In light of Patrice Evra's allegations of racism against Luis Suarez in our draw with Liverpool
last weekend, John Terry has been accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand in Chelsea's defeat
to QPR today.
Footage circulated on the internet with the claim that Terry had called Ferdinand a "black
cunt".
Enrique's Norwich admission
Jose Enrique admitted Liverpool had paid the price for their profligacy following Saturday's 1-1
draw with Norwich City.

By his own admission, Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson prefers playing in central midfield,
but since arriving at Anfield, he's been deployed on the right most of the time. Henderson is clear
about his best position, but unfortunately for him, his manager, Kenny Dalglish, is not.
In his press conference yesterday at Anfield, Dalglish was asked whether he knew what Henderson's
best position for Liverpool was yet.
Morning all,
the last time Arsenal went this far north for a game it ended up quite badly. The circumstances
that day were very different though. It was a team, and possibly a manager, overwhelmed by quality
opposition after the most trying of summers. Since then we've added to the squad, restored a bit of
pride and got ourselves somewhat back on track.
The word "stability" is probably never exist in the dictionary of the league authority with the
latest news that broke out this morning (screen-grab below) that suggested the possibility of
2009's League Cup winners DPMM of Brunei of rejoining the league.
I guess we shouldn't be too surprise of this latest development.

Liverpool lip-service shows Everton signing is no Carlos Tevez and no mug
either
Everton's Argentinian loan-signing Denis Stracqualursi has attempted to quell any fears that he
is a home-sick carbon copy of his compatriot Carlos Tevez. "I know all about Tevez's problems in
Manchester but I don't think I'll have them here," he said.
Stewart Downing claims Kenny Dalglish has given him the confidence to become an England hero.
By his own admission, the winger has had an up and down England career, but he is now aiming to
follow former Aston Villa teammate Ashley Young in becoming a regular for Fabio Capello.
Like Young at Manchester United, Downing has been on top form since swapping clubs in the summer -
and our new No.

In which, finding themselves 1-0 up over Montevideo Wanderers in the last few minutes of their
Uruguayan Premier League tie a week or so ago, a couple of Danubio players attempt to run the clock
down in the corner.
Taking umbrage at the time-wasting, irate Montevideo left-back Diogo takes a sly swipe at his
opponent on the touchline and is duly (and quite rightly) red-carded by the referee at the behest
of the linesman, who was standing a couple of feet away.
Kenny Dalglish has claimed Liverpool put too much pressure on Andy Carroll to return from injury
last season but will witness a marked improvement in the £35m striker now that his fitness levels
have increased.
Carroll has made a slow start to his Liverpool career since becoming the most expensive British
transfer in January, scoring twice in nine appearances last term following his move from Newcastle
United and being withdrawn in the 71st minute of Saturday's win at Arsenal as Dalglish capitalized
on the dismissal of Emmanuel Frimpong by introducing Luis Suárez from the bench.

Not that there was ever any doubt, but we can finally tell you not that you don't already know
that Romelu Lukaku is officially a Chelsea player. Most triumphant.
Lukaku signed a five-year contract with the club, and will, as was reported yesterday, wear the
No. 18 shirt.
They escaped by the skin of their teeth last season, but for Wigan Athletic there has been
little to get excited about this summer and there remains the distinct possibility of another long,
hard winter ahead for a club that has, over the last few seasons, battled against all odds to keep
hold of this most unexpected of Premier League places.

high-flying demolition unit which won last year's title.

Valencia President Slams Door on Mata Speculation
Valencia president Manuel Llorente has recently put to bed any notions that Juan Mata may leave
the club after the Spaniard insisted that the player is ‘not for sale at any price'. Liverpool
were among the suitors vying for the player's signature, but will now have to look elsewhere after
the latest admission.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has admitted that defender Jose Enrique is keen to quit the club and
move to one that will offer him Champions League football.
Enrique has been one of the club's best players over past seasons and Liverpool and Arsenal are
believed to be in the market for a left-back of his class.
It was a strange night of soccer Tuesday at Breese Stevens Field. And in the end, not very much
soccer.
The Madison 56ers and the Chicago Fire's Premier Development League played just more than 17
minutes of their second-round U.S. Open Cup match before the game was halted by lightning with the
Fire ahead 1-0.
