...this blog debuted. I've made a lot of great connections as a result of the work I've done
here, and I look forward to more in the future. My thanks to everybody who has read, commented,
linked, downloaded the podcast, or re-tweeted in all this time.

This is another one of those
there's-too-little-going-on-but-if-I-combine-everything-and-throw-in-some-gratuitous-filler-then-I-have-a-blog-post
post. So here goes;
- Only a few days until Vegas! For those of you who won't be able to make the Vegas
Podcast-A-Palooza, which I will be hosting, you can watch the video stream here beginning at 6:45
PM Eastern on Saturday.

It took over a year for it to happen (mostly due to my own delays), but Jason, Jeff and I
finally got our act together and figured out the best way to do this. We're going to do this every
month, and eventually bring in other members of the Popdose staff. But for now, it's just the three
of us being jerks.

First off, September has been the busiest month in terms of traffic here at WFW. Both of the
previous two weeks have resulted in new records for hits (beginning with the host switch in July
2008), and I want to thank everybody who has linked or retweeted my posts in this time. For those
of you who have discovered this site because of the Springsteen-related content, welcome, and,
although this blog isn't entirely dedicated to Springsteen, I do hope you'll become a regular
reader and commenter.

A few days after the death of Michael Jackson, I was contacted again by Whitman Publishing to
work on another of their excellent limited-edition Vaults, and I am proud to see that it is now
available!.
This was a collaborative effort. I wrote the biography text and the foreword, about 15K words in
total.

After three years and 61 episodes, I've decided to call an end to the podcast. I arrived at this
decision yesterday after realizing I could no longer motivate myself to put forth the effort
necessary to do the show every two weeks. As I said on the last episode, I had some ideas but I
couldn't bring them to fruition.

No major reason for the delay time, I've just been lazy. I've had a couple of ideas floating
around my head for the past week, but every time I've thought about developing one of them, I got
distracted by something shiny. Most of the time, it's been the sun. We've had some absolutely
beautiful weather here this past week.

Once again, I was all set to begin work on the next episode of the podcast when, last night, I
was contacted to work on another book. I don't know how many details I can give out, but it will
require pretty much all my time and energy over the next week, so I won't be able to do any work on
Episode 60 until I'm all done with this project.

I felt it was time to change the theme of WFW. The main reason for this is that the old theme
wasn't suited for Firefox and the right sidebar was always below the blog entries. What's the point
of having a blogroll if nobody sees it, right?
So I've abandoned the black and red color scheme that had been in place since the blog was first
launched in December 2005 in favor of blue.

The other day on Twitter, my buddy Jeff Giles of Popdose (who have a fantastic St. Patrick's Day
mixtape for you to download) publicly shamed me into getting back to work on the podcast. So I
spent Sunday night working on the script for the first time in two months. I got about 2/3rds done
with it, and I was looking forward to recording it in the next few days.

Last week, I finally began working on getting the podcast up and running again. It's been more
than five months since I suspended production and I felt it was time to re-launch it. I had some
trouble getting back into the flow of it, but by Friday I had about half of the script done. I was
on track to have it ready for release this morning.
