This weekend's headlines were stolen by Emmauel Adebayor even before a ball was
kicked. Saturday morning, Adebayor finally lashed out at his former club Arsenal,
moments before the Gunners kicked-off a challenging visit to the
Eastlands.
This past week Manchester United announced the signing of Zoran Tosic, the Serbian winger from
Partizan Belgrade. The signing signals more competition amongst Manchester United's wingers, and
potentially could see the exit of someone like Ji-Sung Park. Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that it
also means a lot to the future of Wayne Rooney.
The trouble with making jokes about potential disasters is that when they come true, you're torn
between the urge to shout 'I told you so' and, depending on your social stereotype, the
urge to cry / pray / drink / blow yourself up.
At Manchester United, by no means are we near any financial disasters, but that will be the talk
of the town after United backed out of the Adem Ljajic deal.
We have written about Serbian Kaka, Adem Ljajic, 17 years old kid that has signed for Manchester
United in package deal with Zoran Tosic not long ago, but stayed with Partizan until January.
After that signing, Ljajic's performances have not been that great and even Partizan's fans
started to turn against him (they said that he is keeping his best for United).
With the arrival of the weekend, football fans across the world are returning to following their
respective teams in another series of cracking fixtures. However, excitement is going to reach a
whole different level next weekend, when the much awaited FIFA 10 releases in Australia (October 1)
and Europe (October 2).
Back in November Premiership Talk announced that Manchester United had signed Partizan Belgrade
winger Zoran Tosic. The news never caught the major media as the terms were unclear. Today,
Manchester United officially unveiled the signing of Zoran Tosic for an undisclosed fee. In
addition, United have wrapped up a deal for Tosic's club and national teammate Adem Ljajic.
The worldwide credit crunch is taking its toll on football clubs around the world, and it has
prompted Spanish side Valencia to admit that they may have to part ways with David Villa.
"Whatever offer comes in we will have to study it although the idea is not to have to sell
David Villa or David Silva," said Valencia's sporting vice-president Fernando Gomez Colomer.

Sunday will see a truly bizarre sight. If tradition is followed, Hull will come out onto the
field and form a guard of honour for Manchester United.
Milking the applause, in amongst, will be Zoran Tosic, Corry Evans and Lee Martin.
However, I'm frankly amazed at the backlash Fergie is getting this week for suggesting he'd
field a "squad" team against Hull.
Last week's biggest headline was the announcement that Chelsea have been handed a transfer ban.
The Blues are accused of illegally tapping up former Lens youngster Gael Kakuta, and the ruling has
sparked controversy all around the world of football. Manchester United appear to be the next club
on the chopping block as French club Le Havre are accusing the Premiership champions of tapping up
16 year old Paul Pogba.
Barcelona may be the treble winners last season. In addition, they may also be the side with
arguably the most potent attack in Europe, comprising of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry
Henry, Bojan Krkic, and FIFA World Player of the Year hopeful Lionel Messi. On top of that, they
also possess one of the most powerful midfield combinations in the continent in the form of Andres
Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.
News broke last week that Manchester United's deal with Partizan Belgrade for up-and-coming star
Adem Ljajic had collapsed.
The press quickly latched on to it and claim it was down to lack of funds at our club, thanks to
the massive debt given to us by the Glazers.
However, Ljajic today claims the reason he won't be joining United in January is because he
couldn't get a work permit.
According to Manchester United's official website, Manchester United will not
pursue the option to purchase Partizan Belgrade midfielder Adem
Ljajic. A club spokesman said,
"We had an option to buy the player but, having closely monitored his development over past 12
months, and taken into the consideration the young players emerging through the ranks, we have
chosen not to pursue the transfer.
