If you have played at the top in front of the Kop when you return home you want to have some passion, some feeling from a large crowd.
And what better team to sign for than the one with the biggest fanbase.
The Victory are already popular on the road - but the Derbies, Adelaide and Sydney games have just gone up a notch.

I think it's safe to say that everyone who is a fan of the round ball game would have been relieved the season has finally started.
They say that idle hands are the devil's playthings, so with six months of nothing you can imagine the crap that has happened.
At least we can now focus on the football.

Check out the video and you'll know how to stop the Roar!
If you watched the recent Wellington Roar game you'll have seen Ivan Franjic played in time and time again a la the above video training drill. Four men in the box, the ball played back or across to a Roar player.
In the drill there were only defenders - against Wellington and Victory there were 7 or 8!

Aussie football is dead, long live Aussie football.
Australia produced a performance at the Asia Cup, good enough, just to sneak into the Asia Cup Semi Finals for the first time.
Sure it was close but Matt McKay, Sas Ognenovski, David Carney, Mile Jedinak and Nathan Burns were a few of the A-League made players who are not comfortable in the Green and Gold.

Despite being backed by the deep pockets of one of Indonesia's richest and most influential families Pelita Jaya have been a lame duck for many, many years. Back in the semi professional years they were the big boys, winning trophies and signing players like Mario Kempes and Roger Milla.
Recently though, and especially under previous coach Fandi Ahmad, they have concentrated on spending as little as possible and nurturing youth.

So you aren't allowed to have a Youth team - because of FFA paranoia, finances, rules, whatever - and yet you play professional football against other clubs, ten of them, most who have a Youth team and after six years of football - we're seeing heaps and heaps of young players filling in as your stars get injured or are out of form.

Flowing football at its best, Brazil, to Argentinean, to Dutch slotted by an AUSSIE!

Why has Ricky Dicky Coolen given us Mr Slory.

First Wellington Phoenix slumped out of the finals series as the Dylan McAllister led forward line couldn't score in the proverbial brothel despite putting in a strong performance in Adelaide on Friday.
Then they have to watch as their former young gun Kosta Barbarouses single-handedly delivers a fantastic semi-final opener, only to supply the Grand Final home ground second goal against the Mariners.

Violence in football on and off the field is not acceptable, and I love my Old Firms Derbies, just not the violence that surrounds it - Of course in AFL, League or Union the more violence the better but that's another story.
But I'm not interested in which set of fans are more violent, we know in Australia it will be football, its flares and fans that will come under the most biased scrutiny from the media.

This report ended up being false, at least according to its time table. Yesterday a fresh report popped up on Adelaide Now (Adelaide's newspaper) that the Timbers might be interested in him.

Sydney were value in the first half, pushing hard mainly via Emerton on the left. The ground was wet and at times it seemed to be raining, leading to spectacles like 2 Roar foul throws in a row. However, in the second half Brisbane kept the ball clear of Emerton, and Sydney ran out of steam. The last 30 minutes of the game were not even close as Roar's possession pushed up to 80%.
