The 2009-10 Atletico Madrid home and away football kits have been revealed. The new strips have
been made by Nike, and KIA Motors are the shirt sponsors. The home shirt remains red and white, but
the number of vertical stripes have increased. The jersey is accompanied by blue shorts with a red
stripe running down the [.
Manchester United have opted for a black and blue combination for their 2009-10 Away Kit. The
design is quite similar to the new home strip's. The shirt is primarily black in colour, with a
blue coloured chevron across the chest. The away shirt, unlike the home shirt, uses the primary
colour of the shirt for [.
Premier League champions Manchester United have officially unveiled photos of their new home kit
for the 2009-10 season. The new shirt, manufactured by Nike, celebrates the 100th year of
Manchester United's home ground, Old Trafford. The stadium was opened in the 1909-10 season. The
shirt is primarily red, with a large chevron across the chest.
Looks and sounds like the Mariners will bring two A-League games to Canberra. V Adelaide and Perth
Glory.
And if Perth Glory sign Denilson or Alvaro Recoba as rumoured we'll be in for a treat like never
before.
These are not pre-season games but regular competitive fixtures.
First the Socceroos now A-League.
If Canberra were in the league we'd have:
Jason Culina, leading Gold Coast United to play at the Canberra Stadium. A Socceroo. Still only 29
would we ever have a fitter, younger, better credentialed Australian playing football in Canberra
at his peak?
Robbie Fowler would be in Canberra to play for Townsville.
Thursday 6 August - Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners.
Friday 7 August - Adelaide United v Perth Glory
Saturday 8 August - 'Brisbane-based Roar' v Gold Coast
North Queensland Fury v Sydney FC (Fowler v Aloisi)
Sunday 9 August - Newcastle Jets v Wellington Phoenix
Dutch giants Feyenoord Rotterdam's shirts for the 2009-10 Eredivisie season have officially been
released. Feyenoord, one of the big three of Dutch football along with PSV and Ajax, finished
seventh in the 2008-09 season of the Eredivisie. The new Feyenoord shirts are made by Puma, who
return as the club's kit makers after a gap of [.
Scottish Premier League side, St.Mirren FC, who finished 11th in the league last season, have
officially put their home and away kits for the 2009-10 season on sale. As mentioned in the title,
the new strips are made by Hummel. The sponsors of the new Saint Mirren shirts are Braehead
Shopping centre.
The Pissants are talking about me, and Bill is preparing a new Adelaide fanzine, Bill will write
for the new Aussie fanzine Half-Time Heroes and The FootballTragic will bring great quality as
well.
And I'm working on my next book. My last one, well my only one, Father and Me, explored the
wonderful ways a Catholic Priest can abuse one boy.
Foxsports - Glory coach David Mitchell describes Adelaide's tactics as 'English football':...
Well Foxtel didn't happen last night. According to their local office the service was out for
Brisbane. So much for Robby Fowler scoring a great goal from his own build up play. And a fabulous
3-3 draw between Adelaide and the Fury. So much for Perth's new players firing and winning 2-1 over
Melbourne.
They Think It's All Over... is well and truly pissed that the referee denied Wellington Phoenix a
win against Adelaide, but can draw some consolation from the performance of the Kiwi side.
Round 5 Review
Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets 1-1
Etihad Stadium 15,168
Despite being able to sustain a high crowd, Melbourne weren't able to replicate that luck on the
pitch, following another disappointing result, the defending champions sit 7th on the A-League
ladder.
Adelaide United vs Melbourne Victory
Hindmarsh Stadium
What will be a very tough encounter, on the basis of revenge. Adelaide losing in the finals of
last season hurt, and will be out to challenge for the title this year. Adelaide so far have been
underperforming, but only just however their performances are deserving of a better placing.
I saw you Danny putting your finger up to me on the big screen.
Well i did it back louder and longer.
Robbie Kruse v Tiatto and co, great stuff. Fozzie might not have liked it, but Bozzo loved it...me
to.
Great game, particularly that first half, and great to see Danny Allsopp out of the Victory side.
SO it's been a couple of days since Perth's win over Adelaide and as a result of some other
scorelines in the other games this weekend, the Glory find themselves in third place on the
ladder.
They are now unbeaten in their last 5 games (three wins and two draws).
Most of the pundits reckon the Glory were lucky to get the 1-0 victory over the Reds, and for the
most part they'd be right - though the Glory had a number of chances, particularly in the
first-half.
An interesting article in the Courier Mail on Monday. The story was that some Roar directors
regretted not accepting FFA help at the beginning of the season. The reason given for the regret
was that the FFA would have been able to control Frank Farina via a director of football - and
stopped poor player behaviour.
Melbourne coach Ernie Merrick has described Saturday's 3-1 win over Adelaide as his team's best
90-minute performance of the year and a shining example of the depth the club has at its
disposal.Melbourne's new-look side featured two players who had never started a game for the club
before in Sutee Suksomkit and Mate Dugandzic and both played major roles as the Victory recorded an
eighth straight success over the Reds.
It will be interesting to see if (when?) the FFA ends up with interests in Adelaide and the Roar.
And if they do, whether they will be buyers or sellers of players. So far, in lead up to any new
administration, Adelaide seems to be a seller.
The Roar spent last year tieing up the loose ends so Gold Coast had to pay mega bucks if it wanted
to cash in on the local following of Roar players (Tahj).
Pity these games get so little coverage. CCM played well and the Koreans were very mediocre at
home.
The omens were bad. Foxtel lost transmission in the opening minutes and only came back as Donelison
smashed home a penalty in the opening minutes. The Korean team's Brazilian was the difference
between the two teams - on the scoreboard and in terms of overall performance.

PERTH Glory fans need to come out and support the club, said Glory coach Dave Mitchell
yesterday.
Mitchell, speaking on local radio show Let's Talk Football , praised the work of Glory owner Tony
Sage in acquring some big name players but warned that the fans needed to also support the club.
Newcastle were blown away.
Pohang's Brazilian Denilson was the best player on the park by a factor of two. Going for and
winning everything including an early penalty. His running step overs were the best and most
dangerous we have seen by or against A-League teams. Could Brisbane Roar get this guy for a guest
stint?
English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have officially revealed their new kits for the
2009-10 season today ( June 25). The new 2009-10 Spurs shirts are manufactured by Puma. The home
shirt is white in colour, and will be worn with blue shorts. Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes will wear an
all green kit for the games at White [.
The new 2009-10 kits for Italian giants Juventus have been released. The new Juve kits are
manufactured by Nike ( see logo in picture below). New Holland Fiat Group are the jersey sponsors.
Juventus came third in the Italian Serie A last season. The home shorts are white with black
stripes running down the side, while [.
A new fanzine http://pissanttown.blogspot.com/ home of Adelaide United..starting with the blog.
Now I've thought it's time to put together an A-League Fanzine, by the fans for the fans with a
perspective you just never find in the commercial mags.
Would be easy to put together some of the best bloggers, forum posters from across the country
giving their views on our league all in one spot.
We talk Aussie football, news interview with the pissant.blogspot.com, Lucy Zelic, Russ Gibbs and
myself give you all the Aussie news, and tell you why Brisbane and Adelaide will succeed or fail
this year.
And unfortunately no local show this week. Tech volunteer is sick!
Quiz, issues dedications and more.
90th minute goal to Fury, but sounds like Brisbane were well beaten. Brisbane sound like they are
carrying too many maybes and perhapses.
Adelaide said to be down 5 regulars. Dominated end of the game but couldn't score.
In recent years, Turkish Superleague teams have signed numerous players from Australia. Especially,
Genclerbirligi (located in the country's capital Ankara) has signed threes Australian youngsters,
who have been doing quite well in the league: Bruce Djite (from Adelaide United, James Troisi
(Newcastle United), and Mile Jedinak (Central Coast Mariners).
PERTH Glory marquee signing Mile Sterjovski wants to change the club's poor away record, and says
the team needs a minimum of four points from its first two games of the A-League season.
The Glory will take on Adelaide (Friday) and Wellington (August 16) in their their first two games
of the season.
In this second part to my season preview I examine the teams that will fill positions 4th –
6th.
6th – Adelaide United
It is sometimes amazing how a team's unofficial nickname can evolve from just a few misplaced
comments. The pissants have had a low profile build up this preseason.
Listen Live Perth Glory v Adelaide United
A couple of A-League club fanzines have flared briefly before dying over the last few years, but I
hope that an engaging new publication from Adelaide United fans, Because of a Pissant Town, can
build up a head of steam and flourish.
The title is, of course, a reference to Aurelio Vidmar's notorious comment towards the end of last
season, and Bill of The Spawning Salmon has been the chief driving force behind the mag.
It's always nice to start a season with a win, and Sydney FC hadn't done this since 2006/07. But
although Vitezslav Lavicka can be satisfied with some of Sydney's attacking play against North
Queensland, the defensive concerns remain.
When Kofi Danning scored that delightful second goal, the game looked all but over.

A few weeks ago, I received a pair of Nike5 Zoom T-7 FS in the mail. Receiving freebies is one of
those lovely perks of blogging, up there with waking up in the morning to find a few comments on
your latest post. I suppose it compensates for those mornings when you wake up to find an anonymous
Adelaide United supporter accusing Archie Thompson and Kevin Muscat of doing all sorts of lovely
things; or those days when you find your site's been hacked by some Viagra spammers.
Adelaide v Gold Coast United, Friday night.
Should be a cracker and a great test for both teams.
I'm expecting a fast-paced game with the Gold Coast forced onto the back foot in front of the
Hindmarsh faithful.
But will Jason Culina, Shane Smeltz and Joel Porter pounce again.
Sydney FC on top of the table after four rounds...can I stop pinching myself now?
It hasn't always been pretty (especially last week's grind against the Mariners), but Vitezslav
Lavicka can afford a grin. One gets the feeling that they have been lucky in their opposition so
far; Adelaide and North Queensland both look like they will struggle to make the final six, and
Wellington were utterly pedestrian in midfield last night, with the significant exception of Leo
Bertos.
BEFORE we get into today's juicy blog, should give a mention to the guys at Glory Football Tees and
the new shirt available from their site (left).
The joke obviously refers to the antics of Chris Coyne against Brisbane a couple of weeks ago.
These guys aren't guys who live in China, these are Perth Glory fans (the type of guys who don't
know what a bandwagon looks like) who use the profits for the creation of Glory banners and the
Perth Glory fanzine - which always gives FP a bit of a laugh.
While Barbs send off on the 8th minute was fair, Adelaide got the raw end of the poor refing show -
and still won.
The main feature was the central defending display by Colosimo and Rudan. The best in the league by
far.
Why do commentators think it fair to have a go at Scott Jamieson? I wish he played for us - he is
fantastic and more brutalised than Robbie Kruse - better player too.
