As Spurs boss Harry Redknapp looks to further strengthen his squad this summer, fans of the
North London club are approaching one of the most anticipated seasons in club history after a
brilliant end to a successful one last May.
After Tottenham open the 2010-2011 Premier League season at home v Manchester City, they've only
a few short days until their all important UEFA Champions League two leg playoff series against the
club they'll be pitted against from Champions League third round qualifying.
a target for manchester city and lyon?
I'll try and avoid writing up speculation pieces on players for the time being, as the maelstrom
that is the January transfer window starts to shift into gear. Naturally we're being linked with a
new player every day so it's hard to sort out the wheat from the chaff for the most part.

Adel Taarabt (QPR)
Signed by QPR after an impressive loan spell, the 21 year old winger was once touted as the
'next Zidane'. You could argue that the claim is a tad far-fetched now, but it was proposed with
intent – he is still a quality player, still learning his trade in a competitive division.
Connor Wickham (Ipswich Town)
Roy Keane recently said he would be 'lynched' if he let Connor leave the club after the season
he has had. But Alf-Inge Haaland's dream almost came true when an 8 million bid from Tottenham was
'seriously' considered by the club. At the tender age of 17 the Tractor Boys youngster has already
played over 30 competitive games with a return of 5 goals.

James Henry (Millwall)
High hopes were set for Henry while at Reading, but injuries plagued his chance of regular
football – although he still managed to score 5 goals in 10 league games for his first club. He
instead got more football on-loan at Bournemouth, Norwich, and most recently Millwall.

It's August 2007 and a west London football team going nowhere suddenly take a severe twist to
become the richest club in the world. A multi-billion pound takeover by Bernie Eccleston, Flavio
Briatore and Lakshmi Mittal changed the footballing landscape at QPR but translating these riches
to the playing field has taken slightly longer.
