The Manchester City website is confirming that Roberto Mancini's side have completed the signing
of Valencia winger David Silva. The statement confirms that, "The player's advisers and officials
from both clubs have finalised the details over a four-year contract, which will bring the
24-year-old to City of Manchester Stadium.
This gameweek it is doubletime for Manchester City, Stoke, Bolton and Wigan in Barclays Premier
League. And out of those four it's Manchester City who has the easiest feast. Bolton at home and
Stoke away. Emmanuel Adebayor is back from the ill-fated trip to African Cup and has scored in last
2 matches.
All of a sudden, the reason for Adebayor's sporadic form for Manchester City this season becomes
abundantly clear. Who knew?! (Getty Images/Daylife)

Wayne Rooney is heating up. In fact Wayne Rooney is on fire.
With many of the elite Premier League strikers out over the last month (including Drogba,
Torres, Adebayor, & Van Persie) there is not much doubt that Wayne Rooney has pulled away from
the rest of the pack as the best player in the league so far this year.
Hand on heart, I'll be glad when a red line is drawn under this feckin'
transfer window and we can all get on with our lives. It's the hope that kills me; the thought of
waking up every morning with want to find gold in the headlines only to discover it's rolled up
balls of horse shit painted in Airfix bronze.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) banned Togo from the next two African Nations Cup
tournaments and also imposed a $50,000 fine. "This decision is outrageous," said Togo captain and
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor to the French newspaper L'Equipe on Sunday.

Barcelona continued their quest to alienate neutrals with their behaviour last night when Carles
Puyol and Gerard Pique interrupted Spain's World Cup celebrations to publicly force a Barcelona
shirt over Cesc's head. Ignoring the fact that this was a Spanish celebration, not a Catalan one,
and that our captain would be suitably embarrassed in a moment he was supposed to be celebrating,
the pair managed to drive another wedge between the two clubs with their antics.

I do not claim to be a Manchester City fan, nor do I condone the philosophy of pouring out heaps
of cash to create a team of superstars. However I, like so many footy fans, am intrigued by what
this year's squad will do in the Prem. I think that currently the squad is talented enough to take
a Champions League spot so why have they lost their opening two friendly matches in the United
States.

ATLANTA, Georgia Con todo y titulares no pudo esta noche el equipo mexicano América triunfar sobre
el inglés Manchester City, que está en pretemporada, en encuentro amistoso desarrollado en el
Georgia Dome que terminó con empate 1-1.
Footballers are notorious for having bad hair. But why? If my hair is bad (often the case), I blame
it on the weather or the cheap hairdresser I went to. These gentlemen have no excuse though, they
have money. They also have super hot WAGs, who surely have to take some of the blame for this
modern day tragedy.
Unsurprisingly, Ghana lead the list of nominees for the African Footballer of the
Year
The short list of nominees up for the African Footballer of the Year have been making their way
into the press this morning. Not surprising that Ghana lead the list along with some other
predictable nominations .
If you follow this blog at all you should know that I love finding different YouTube channels. Of
all people who have their own YouTube channel I would have never guessed it would be Emmanuel
Adebayor from Manchester City. It is worth checking out and you will even get a good laugh. You
can follow Adebayor driving around town, at practice, and even talking about constantly being

Lots of news has occured lately, and with a weekend of action coming up, five Premiership matches

Togo National Team Attacked on way to ANC Cup
The Togo National team bus was attacked by gunmen on their way to the African Nations Cup, the
driver was killed, and two players were hit by bullets, goalkeeper Obilale Kossi, and Serge Akakpo.
The news started coming through early on Saturday morning and as the information became clearer,
it was soon apparent that the whole African Cup Of Nations would now be tainted. When the dust had
settled, 3 members of the Togo party were dead and several were seriously injured. Angolan rebels
had attacked the team bus as it drove through the dangerous territory of Cabinda.
Scott over at Republik of Mancunia has an excellent comparative analysis of Adebayor
(ex-Arsenal) and Tevez (ex-Manchester United) and their actions since joining Manchester City.
As Scott rightly points out, many players have less than pleasant exits from their clubs, but if
the departed player makes it a point to taunt / talk about his old club again and again and again,
then that player's head is not screwed on right.
You don't look cool, Wayne, but you are a hell of a footballer
After a great
mid-week of Champions League action, we are back to our bread and butter this weekend - the Premier
League. Hope you guys took our advice last week and captained N'Zogbia and to those of you who were
brave enough (or crazy enough) to include Landon Donovan in your teams despite his tough match
against Chelsea as we did - congrats on the assist and Donovan's 2 bonus points.
Last night, Inter Milan's Mariga MacDonald Wanyama became the first player from his country to
compete in the UEFA Champions League. The 22 year old midfielder came on as a substitute for Wesley
Sneijder in the dying moments of Inter Milan's 1-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Work permit
issues came in the way of [.
No matter whether you're a fan of a particular Premier League club, the league itself or soccer
in general, the above two videos should be required viewing so you can get a taste of how English
soccer has changed as well as how the TV production of the beautiful game has changed considerably
over the years.
This week, unlike last week, is one of those weeks where you look at your fantasy team and you say,
"man I wish I could start everyone." All 15 players. The matchups just look so tasty. So, who will
you sit and who will you start? The pundit is here to help...
I. Manchester United @ Manchester City: Tottenham / Chelsea is big, but this one is the
big one.
The highly anticipated Manchester Derby took place Saturday with frustrating and mixed results.
Both teams seemed satisfied to sit back and not risk over-committing attacking players while each
team was still able to enjoy decent spells of possession, but minimal quality attempts on goal.
"I know Drogba is a world-class player, but he could play world-class volleyball on that
evidence."
Bolton boss Owen Coyle gives a verbal volley to Didier Drogba, after the Chelsea striker's
handball went unpunished.
Then there's the second one, when John Terry handles it.
Good morning from London. I'd love to tell you I had a wonderful night's sleep and I feel fresh and
ready for the day ahead but that would be a lie, and I'm not going to start lying to you now.
It was one of those nights where sleep just wouldn't come, my roommate was snoring like a sinus
affected rhino and the longer it went on the more I convinced myself I was never going to get any
sleep at all.
Another legend and former captain returns to the Grove today, the second one that we've had after
Thierry Henry with Barcelona. From 1997 to 2005, he was the best midfielder in the league with
probably only Roy Keane the only other player that is the same level as him. Those were glorious
years for Arsenal.
It's a well known fact within the game that many players believe that clubs will pay them whatever
they demand for their services, or at least their own agents lead them to think that way.
Granted,...

He only shaves every third day because, well, he's Dimitar Berbatov
We looked at
the age old strikers quandary yesterday - a classic fantasy football issue that has shaped and
influenced our thinking for years now, and today let's take a brief look at a striker floating
between the "affordable" and "expensive" buckets for the first time ever, yup, it's "Dimitar
Dimitar Berbatov.
I have to admit I have had my doubts this summer over AW's transfer movements. The sheer lack of
numbers that have come in to the club being out weighed by the numbers leaving, as well as the
unproven quality of certain players Wenger has signed, left me scratching my head and wondering
if the great man was starting to lose it.
The wonderful and ever-loved ex-Arsenal icon Emmanuel Adebayor has finally caught on that MoneyBags
Man City have decided to swap the agressive, over-rated and over-emotional idiot for, well, a
younger agressive, over-rated and over-emotional idiot lol! Mario Balotelli is expected to arrive

Joe Hart was a blur - diving, parrying, punching, tipping and in general, frustrating the heck
out of Spurs. Outstanding stuff from the City goalie. I wish we could have him at Arsenal but that
will never happen now.
A few impressions: The first half saw a crackling display by Spurs as that overactive left
channel with Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou Ekotto pounded City.
So many goals, 38 goals to be exact. With so many teams thrashing others, the Premier League is
really beginning to get exciting. Along with this, Chelsea have achieved the best start in Premier
League history, two wins and a goal difference of 12 goals. And now, let's see how many teams got
thrashed, starting with Liverpool.
Manchester City's victory over Liverpool was, in the end, convincing.
Whilst it is a patently obvious statement that an early goal settled them – it would do any team
in the world – the game turned when Gareth Barry calmly passed the ball into the net.
Before that Liverpool had actually started brightly, buoyed by being sent out by Roy Hodgson in
a much more attacking vain than his predecessor would ever have dared.
Deadline day is normally quite good for an interesting signing or two, Berba signing at
United, Robinho landing in Manchester and West Ham signing Argentinian duo Mascherano and Tevez.
So far there is just one big signing that has been banded about, Adebayor to Spurs!!!!
It seems Harry has no respect for the North London rivalry and is looking to follow up
on his signing of Willy Gallas, with Badebayor.
There's not much happening in the world of Arsenal. Even a comment from Fabregas that had enough
juice to launch a thousand headlines didn't really get much attention (and I don't have words to
describe how delighted I am by that). One rag did conjure an amazing headline about how Arsenal
kept El Capitan against his wishes but it seems most other hacks are busy with the Cricket scandal
or the Rooney scoop.
After weeks of speculation, Sir Alex has come out and confirmed rumors that Wayne Rooney is no
longer happy at Old Trafford.
Talks with David Gill about renewing the Rooneys contract at United stalled back in August and
with only one year remaining on his contract the 24-year-old has made it clear he wants to
leave.
Eighty games in the books, a cool 300 to go! The 81st and 90th look like the best this weekend
with ESPN2 back with Everton visiting a loud White Hart Lane for the early Saturday kickoff. Can
Spurs provide 10 additional men to join superstar Gareth Bale? And the one I won't miss is the
Sunday tea time match up in the Eastlands with Arsenal visiting their old friend Adebayor in this
battle for second in the EPL.
Instead of doing the usual wrap up where I tediously go mention every score of every game in the
Champions and Europa League, of which there are 40 in total every midweek. I've decided that when
there's midweek action in European tournaments, I'll be mentioning the most influential players
which played in the tournaments.
