Despite having scored the most goals of any team in the Premiership so far this season, Arsenal
coach Arsene Wenger seems to be in hot pursuit of another striker or two.
21 year-old Congo striker Tresor Mputu is currently on trial with the Gunners, and Wenger looks set
upon recalling teenage striking sensation Carlos Vela from his loan at Osasuna now that work permit
restrictions have been worked out.
Arsenal came from behind twice to secure a vital point at home to Manchester United in one of the
most dramatic finishes of this Premier League season.
A Wayne Rooney goal in first half added-time (deflected in by William Gallas) gave United the lead
going into half time, but Cesc Fabregas equalized after only three minutes in the forty-eighth.
You can see Gareth Bale's nasty free kick here. The last two goals by Fabregas and Adebayor are
just ridiculous.
The first one is a header by Adebayor from a Fabregas free kick.
Fabregas' stunner.
Not to be undone, Adebayor with a superb blast.
Diaby's stellar strike from outside of the box to make it 1-0.

Here's a different view of it. First goal of the day and probably the goal of the day.
Arsenal 1 0 Derby County Diaby

Adebayor is set up deep in Derby territory by Fabregas.
Arsenal are, without a doubt, one of the offensive powerhouses of English football, despite having
lost talismanic striker Thierry Henry to Barcelona during the Summer.
The Gunners are currently on top of the Premiership and its goalscoring charts, having scored 27
goals in 12 Premier League matches. Outside of the Premier League Arsenal have scored 19 goals in 7
outings, including a 7-0 drubbing of Slavia Prague at the Emirates.
Arsenal will look to extend their 9 game winning streak even further this Sunday as they take on
newly-promoted Sunderland at the Emirates. Roy Keane's fifteenth place team will be lucky to get
any points out of this game, and will likely play with many men behind the ball.
Arsenal's physio room had a nice day on Wednesday as nobody was injured in the 1-0 win over Steau
Bucharest, and only the long term injury sufferers are still out.
So here we have it. League leaders Arsenal are ready to take on Derby, a team that has been labeled
as the worst ever to play in the Premiership. They have been living up to this label, losing 4-0 to
Tottenham and 6-0 to Liverpool and 1-0 to Manchester City in their first three away games this
season. They were admittedly given a tough opening schedule, and a visit to the Emirates will not
do
Group H leaders Arsenal take on third-placed Slavia Prague at the Emirates this coming Tuesday.
Arsenal will be confident coming into this match, having won eleven straight games in all
competitions. A 2-0 win over Bolton Wanderers this past Saturday will do nothing to ruin their
morale.
Arsenal would do well not to underestimate the Czech team though.
Arsenal's leading goalscorer last season Robin van Persie should return to fitness in time for the
Gunner's match against Wigan on November 24th. Philippe Senderos, an Arsenal center-back, should
also be back in time for the match, although he is unlikely to start ahead of the likes of William
Gallas and Kolo Toure.
Van Persie's return is a great boost for the Gunners, as we have lacked a confident striker in the
past few matches, despite Emmanuel Adebayor's early brilliance this season.
Arsene Wenger's top of the table Gunners will take on Steve Coppell's 12th placed Royals in the
English Premier League this Monday.
Arsenal are unbeaten in 26 games, but their progress has been halted recently thanks to a 1-1 draw
at Liverpool, a 2-2 draw with Manchester United, and a 0-0 draw at Slavia Prague. The Gunners will
be looking to get back on track with a win at the Madejski.
Here's a video of Arsenal's top 10 goals this season, courtesy of www.footytube.com
Goals number eight and six are pure Arsenal class, while Adebayor's cracker for number one is
probably the finest strike ever by the lanky Togolese striker.
Another thing to note is that last season a similar video would have been dominated by Robin van
Persie and Thierry Henry.
League leaders Arsenal take on 12th place Tottenham in the second North London derby of the season
as the Gunners try to stay clear of Manchester United.
Arsenal beat Spurs 3-1 at White Heart Lane after coming back from a goal deficit. Tottenham will be
trying to get revenge this time around at the Emirates, but will have a tough time, with the
Gunners on a fine run of form.
Arsenal's young Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner could be on his way out of the club. The 6 ft. 4
in. front man performed admirably in Arsenal's preseason fixtures after returning from a season
long loan to Birmingham.
The few games that he played during the Summer prompted me to write an article comparing the
talents of Bendtner and the prodigal Englishman Theo Walcott.
Gael Clichy, Abou Diaby, Mathieu Flamini, William Gallas, Bacary Sagna - Five Arsenal players have
been selected to play for France in important qualifying fixtures against the Faroe Islands on
October 13th and Lithuania on October 17th. Flamini received his first call-up to the national
side, thanks in large part to his impressive club form of late.
League leaders Arsenal are to take on 7th placed Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Boxing Day.
The Gunners, who sport a clean bill of health, will be looking for six points out of six in their
next two matches to go into the new year as leaders, but they will have to work hard as they face
quality opposition in Portsmouth and Everton.
First-placed Arsenal will take on struggling Bolton Wanderers this Saturday, only three days after
Sammy Lee parted ways with the club. Bolton, who finished sixth in the Premiership last season,
find themselves in an early relegation battle, having picked up only five points from nine games
this season. Arsenal on the other hand are riding a wave of ten consecutive wins in all
competitions and will hope that their brilliant form continues despite the international break last
weekend.

An undermanned Arsenal side managed to break down a resolute Wigan in the last ten minutes to go
clear at the top of the Premier League table as Manchester United faltered at Bolton.
Wigan showed some real character in their compact defense, but a goal from William Gallas opened
the game up in the 83rd minute and Tomas Rosicky insured the win with a second only two minutes
later.
Premier League leaders Arsenal travel to Spain this Tuesday to face off against struggling Sevilla.
The two teams lead Champions League Group H after four games, with Arsenal already qualified on ten
points and Sevilla one point behind. Slavia Prague and Steaua Bucharest close up the group with
four and zero points respectively.
Arsenal jumped back from a 3-1 midweek loss at Sevilla and a 1-0 deficit to beat Aston Villa 2-1 at
Villa Park. The Gunners, who are still undefeated in the Premier League, allowed an early goal, but
came back with two of their own before halftime to go five points clear of Chelsea with a game in
hand, and six clear of last season's champions Manchester United.
Here it is, Arsenal's first real testing match of the Premier League season. We are currently on
top of the league following a run of great form. With only two points dropped this season (at home
to Blackburn after a Jens Lehmann clanger) we will be going to Anfield with plenty of confidence.
Rafa Benitez's Liverpool side will not have the same morale though.
The Premier League's top two title challengers are set to battle it out at the Emirates this
Saturday in what is sure to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the season. Arsene Wenger's
first-placed Arsenal team is even on points and goal differential with Alex Ferguson's Manchester
United, and both teams are in fine veins of form.
The winner of this game (if there is one) will go clear at the top of the Premier League, and this
game could be one of the biggest factors in Arsenal's title aspirations.
Arsenal won away at Reading to reclaim the top spot in the Premiership on goals scored.
Mathieu Flamini, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Alex Hleb made it 3-0 to the Gunners before Nicky Shorey
pulled one back for Reading near the end of normal time to wrap up a comfortable win for
Arsenal.
Lineups:
Reading: Marcus Hahnemann; Nicky Shorey, Ivar Ingimarsson, Graeme Murty, Ibrahima Sonko; Bobby
Convey, Brynjar Gunnarsson, James Harper, Stephen Hunt; Kevin Doyle, Dave Kitson
Arsenal: Manuel Almunia; Bacary Sagna, William Gallas, Kolo Toure, Gael Clichy; Emmanuel Eboue,
Cesc Fabregas, Mathieu Flamini, Tomas Rosicky; Alex Hleb; Emmanuel Adebayor
Arsenal started brightly, with Adebayor hitting the post in the fourth minute of play.
Arsenal travel to Villa Park this Saturday to face Martin O'Neill's on-form Aston Villa.
The Gunners will be looking to get back on track after losing to Sevilla on Tuesday, their first
loss in any competition since April. Still, Arsene Wenger's squad will be confident, as the loss
came on foreign soil with a depleted squad.
High-flying Arsenal travel to the Riverside to face Gareth Southgate's struggling Middlesbrough
this Sunday.
Arsenal drew 1-1 with Newcastle midweek, and will face a stiffer challenge this weekend due to the
absence of many key players.
However, a Middlesbrough team sitting in the relegation zone shouldn't trouble the Gunners too
much.
Two stunning goals from Cesc Fabregas and Emanuel Adebayor helped Arsenal to overcome a 1-0 deficit
and beat Tottenham 3-1 at White Heart Lane. Arsene Wenger opted for a different line-up than I
expected, opting to play Abou Diaby and Mathieu Flamini in the midfield alongside Fabregas and Alex
Hleb. The defense was as expected, Kolo Toure and Gilberto at centre-back, with Gael Clichy on the

Well, I thought that I was perhaps being too harsh on Derby by predicting a 4-0 Arsenal win, but
the young guns proved me wrong, emphatically winning the game 5-0. Arsenal remain at the top of the
table thanks to a hat-trick from Emmanuel Adebayor and goals from Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby.
Lineups: Arsenal: Manuel Almunia; Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure, Philippe Senderos, Gael Clichy; Abou

Match Preview Arsenal remained at the top of the table today as they beat West Ham thanks to a 13th
minute header from Robin van Persie. Manchester United have yet to play, but even if they win
Arsenal will be 2 points ahead with a game in hand. Currently, our closest rivals are Manchester
City who 3 points behind, having played one more game. Arsene Wenger's gunners finally broke their

Arsenal became the first team to beat Steaua Bucharest in Romania today, thanks to a left-footed
goal from Robin van Persie. The gunners kept their top spot in Group H on six points, three points
ahead of nearest rivals Sevilla (who we beat 3-0 at the Emirates) and Slavia Prague. Steaua are on
the bottom now, having yet to win any points.

Arsenal went back on top of the Premier League table, beating Sunderland 3-0 to make it 10 straight

Sunderland side.

first minute.

Archie Knox lost his first match as Bolton's caretaker as his side fell 2-0 to Arsene Wenger's
first-placed team. The result keeps Arsenal at least two points clear of Manchester United (who
play Aston Villa later today) with a game in hand. Bolton are not faring nearly as well, as the
loss puts them rock-bottom in the Premiership, after Derby held Fulham to a goalless draw today.
This Saturday a depleted Arsenal side face off against second from bottom Wigan as the Gunners look
to retain the top spot in the Premier League.
After three straight draws (against Liverpool, Manchester United, and Slavia Prague), the Gunners
were just beginning to regain their form with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Reading before the
international break.
Arsenal travel to St. James' Park this Wednesday as they finally play their game in hand against
Newcastle United. Depending on Manchester United's result tomorrow, a win at Newcastle could see
Arsenal go as many as eight points clear of their nearest competition.
A Gunners win could also see Sam Allardyce fired from his new club.
Newcastle came back from an early goal down to win a point against Premier League leaders Arsenal,
who failed to capitalize on a game in hand but nonetheless went four points clear of second-placed
Manchester United.
Arsenal were 1-0 up after only four minutes, after Emmanuel Adebayor drilled a fabulous volley into
the back of Shay Given's net.
Steaua Bucharest travel to London this Wednesday as English giants Arsenal try to regain their
winning form on home soil.
The Gunners lost their first match of the season in their last Champions League match away to
Sevilla. Soon after, the squad lost their first Premier League game in a shock 2-1 defeat at
Middlesbrough.
Avram Grant's Chelsea travel to the Emirates to face cross-town rivals Arsenal this Sunday. The
day's fixtures, which also see Manchester United face off against Liverpool, could very well decide
which team is at the top of the table at the halfway point of the season.
Arsenal are in a bit of a rough patch of form right now, but a win over Steaua Bucharest in the
midweek, in conjunction with the return of Abou Diaby and Robin van Persie, will ensure that the
Gunners are confident coming in to this match.
Arsenal stayed at the top of the Premier League after defeating Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates.
The Premier League return of Cesc Fabregas, Alex Hleb, Mathieu Flamini, and Robin van Persie saw a
dynamic Arsenal team boss possession in the high tension game which saw 10 yellow cards awarded.
The Blues put up a good fight, but a mistake from Chelsea keeper Petr Cech led to the only goal of
the match in first-half stoppage time.
Alexander Hleb is set to miss Tuesday's Champions League match against Steaua Bucharest after
suffering an injury in yesterday's 1-0 victory over West Ham. The victory kept Arsenal two points
clear at the top of the table, but was marred by injuries to Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor. It was a
Mark Noble tackle which took out Hleb, and Arsene Wenger was not very happy with it.
This Tuesday Premier League table-toppers Arsenal face off with Romania's second place team Steaua
Bucuresti. Arsene Wenger's young guns will go into the match full of confidence, riding a streak of
8 straight wins in all competitions. The Gunners are first in Group H, following a convincing 3-0
victory over Spanish side Sevilla. Steaua are on the other side of the table, having lost their

Liverpool brought an end to Arsenal's 12 game winning streak today, as the Gunners came back from a
1-0 deficit to draw 1-1. Cesc Fabregas' eightieth minute equalizer was enough to put Arsenal back
on top of the Premier League with a game in hand, but next Saturday's fixture with Manchester
United could see them fall off the top.
Premier League leaders Arsenal take on the Championships nineteenth placed team, Sheffield United,
this Wednesday in the fourth round of the Carling Cup. The Premiership giants were lucky to avoid
drawing against the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, but the Blades will not be nearly so happy to
have to face Arsenal.
Arsenal played twice against United during the Blades brief one season stint in the Premiership,
and while Arsenal demolished United 3-0 at the Emirates, the Blades will take some solace in the
fact that they were able to defeat Arsenal 1-0 at Bramall Lane - the locale of Wednesday's fixture.
