Burnley were one of the founder members of the original Football League, way back in 1888. The club
hasn't been in the top flight in England for 33 years, but after beating Sheffield United 1-0 at
Wembley in the Championship play-off final yesterday, Burnley are back.
All well and good.
The 2010 MLS SuperDraft is quickly approaching. On January 14, 2010, the 15 teams will select 60
players through 4 selection rounds. Of course not all teams have the same number of picks. Several
trades by the Houston Dynamo has resulted in a very poor draft position, a position the Dynamo
should be accustomed to.

MLS Transfers of the Week is a brand new column posted every sunday or monday(just depending). It
shows the best players to be transfered in and out in MLS and trades from 1(being the best)-however
many transfers went down(being the not so best). It explains the pros and cons of the best
transfers and tells supporters what they can expect.
OVERVIEW
If there is one team in Major League Soccer that can relate to a let down start to the season,
it is the Houston Dynamo. Perennial contenders, the Orange Attack came into the season with fairly
high hopes, and, much like the Red Bulls, their face has been rubbed in the mud.
After taking a few weeks of the 2009 Major League Soccer season to get going, Houston Dynamo
rose to the top of the table last weekend as their remarkable run of good form continued. Chivas
USA, Toronto FC and Chicago Fire have all impressed for periods, but Dynamo have quietly put
together a superb run and put themselves in a position to fly past the stumbling pace-setters.
After swimming to work this morning I was checking the Dynamo news and came across this
interesting article. It's one of the Orange faithful updating Burnley FC on the progress of Ade
Akinbiyi. Give it a read.
Also, this photo is of Burnley's mascot. Isn't it odd to have a person as a mascot?
The Dynamo defeated the Austin Aztex last night 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinal round of the
U.S. Open Cup Tournament. The roster was dominated by seldom used players; Tally Hall, Julius
James, John Michael Hayden, Erik Ustruck, Danny Cruz, Ade Akinbiyi. Despite the roster overhaul,
the Orange still managed to post two goals.
div style="text-align: justify;"It was rumoured that Burnley's 34 year-old England-born Nigerian
striker Ade Akinbiyi was a target of the Houston Dynamo. It turns out, a

Before the season, I examined the average age of each MLS team in league history. That's done by
taking the average age of all the players for the season (using July 1st birthdates) and
multiplying it by minutes played. It's then divided by the total team minutes. I think it was one
of the more interesting posts I've ever had on this blog.
On Thursday, the Houston Dynamo unveiled their first ever designated player, announcing they have
signed 24 year-old Mexican striker Luis Angel Landin on loan from Cruz Azul. In signing Landin, the
Dynamo had to release Ade Akinbiyi, who joined the team earlier this summer.
This is a good signing.

known for his span style="font-style: italic;"Cogeco Cable bloopers-show cameo/span as "sitter

fill as well, with no depth up front behind Brian Ching and Kei Kamara.
NEWS: A day after coach Dominic Kinnear said Ade Akinbiyi would be involved in Saturday's match
should he get here from the U.K. in time comes word that the forward cannot yet suit up. Akinbiyi
is headed to Houston, but...
Would you believe me if I told you Ade Akinbiyi was not at practice Friday? Or that it is highly
unlikely he will get to play Sunday, when the Dynamo host the Colorado Rapids? Crazy but true.
Turns out Akinbiyi...
Your Houston Dynamo and rival New England Dance Revolution are both trying to climb from the
depths of their respective divisions. Last week, the Revs suffered a 6-0 drumming in Salt Lake
while the Orange roughed up some kids from Laredo. Despite the positive outlook for the Dynamo
given this recent history, there are other factors to consider.
The Houston Dynamo have bolstered their stable of forwards, acquiring Ghanaian striker Dominic
Oduro from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for a pair of draft picks, the team announced in a
press release this afternoon. In return, the Red Bulls will receive Houston's first-round pick in
the 2010 MLS SuperDraft along with a second-round selection in 2011.
The twelfth week of MLS action kicks off in its semi-normal Thursday night time slot, with ESPN
carrying its game of the week from Washington, D.C. The New York Red Bull return to the scene of
their 5-3 humiliation in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game, eager to prove themselves on the road. On
Friday night, an interesting match up in Chicago takes place, with the Fire hosting the surging
Houston Dynamo.

It was a bad week for weather, and a bad week to be a Crew supporter. The Crew played on Thursday
and Sunday, losing both times. Both Chivas and Seattle remained perfect on the year, while Kansas
City got its first win. FC Dallas fell victim to a second half comeback by the Revolution to fall
to 0-3-0 on the year.
No points were awarded in the standings, but still a meaningful match for the Dynamo as they
defeated the Laredo Heat 4-0 on Saturday. The only dark spot seemed to be a broken nose suffered by
Danny Cruz.
Read the details here and here.
With that, who do you think is the Dynamo's most dangerous offensive weapon besides Brian
Ching?

The Houston Dynamo has added yet another forward, bringing in Cam Weaver from the San Jose
Earthquakes in a trade completed Tuesday that sends Chris Wondolowski to the Earthquakes, along
with a conditional draft pick.
The contents of Michael Owen's sale brochure must have been more potent than we could ever have
imagined, if the rumours doing the rounds are correct. In a move that has dropped jaws to the
ground across Europe, the club most interested in signing him are... Manchester United. According
to a report in "The Guardian" tonight, Owen only has to get through a medical - which in itself
means that there is nothing guaranteed about this move yet - and, if the press are willing to be
believed, Ickle Mike could be on his way to Old Trafford.
Heading into tomorrow's Dynamo v. Sounders match in the Emerald Rain Forest, let's take a look at
this team and you tell me what you notice (aside from the fact that's it's a nine-person side with
six defenders)

What I am seeing is, if you were to plug another midfielder there and a relatively stout keeper,
you'd have a side that could challenge just about any MLS team on any day.
Nate Jaqua took a vicious elbow to the head early in the first half of Tuesday night's U.S. Open
Cup semifinal against the Houston Dynamo.
Bloodied and battered -- sporting a bandage wrapped around his head -- Jaqua fired back against his
former team at the perfect time.
The 89th minute.
If you thought the Dynamo were meant to win Tuesday night's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup semifinal -
and why not? Ade Akinbiyi scored one, after all - I'm pretty sure that all changed as you watched
the second half...

A rumor we have been talking about for months has finally come true as Canadian U-23 defender
Andrew Hainault has signed with the Houston Dynamo.

Well, it's finally happened. Canadian defender Andrew Hainault is now the newest member of the

As you should know, your beloved Orange will seek revenge this weekend against last season's
playoff foe, the New York Red Bulls. This match features two winless teams, one of which has yet to
score goal (aside from an own-goal contributed by New England.) So here's the deal, this game will
be played with a backdrop of international intrigue with the potential appearance of one Ade
Akinbiyi.
I wish I'd had a camera to capture it. It was Saturday night after the match, and the Dynamo locker
room had just been opened to the media (after the usual 10-minute cooling-off period). And MLS
newbie Ade Akinbiyi couldn't...
Houston Dynamo new acquisition Ade Akinbiyi finally completes his first training session.

impressed with the strength of his new forward.
