Weird!
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR'S feud with Robin van Persie began last season when he walked off with
his strike partner's boots.
And the disgraced Adebayor will add insult to injury by dragging Van Persie into his battle with
the FA.
The City striker was banned for three matches for raking Dutchman Van Persie's face with his
studs during last week's explosive clash with Arsenal.
I have managed to get hold of one Arsenal fan that was in the stands, directly at the front when
everything kicked off against City after Adebayor's goal celebrations.
As it turns out, the 'Elephant' song, as it is being coined in the press, was not sung in the
stands at all. It was the 'Arshavin version'.
Manchester City are fretting over potential racist chants being directed at Emmanuel Adebayor
during the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sept 20. Despite the fact that City have Ade's
former club as their next game, they're more worried about the Manchester derby, where fans are
expected to sing the racist chant towards the Togolese frontman.
by CARL ELDRIDGE April 24, 2010. A date for your diary. A date for Emmanuel Adebayor's diary.
Yes, you guessed correctly. It is the day when Manchester City and Mr Adebayor pay a visit to the
home of football.
His indefensible actions yesterday in front of the travelling Gooners in the 4-2 defeat at
Eastlands are sure to have an impact on the kind of reception the Togo tosser can expect, wouldn't
you say?
Well, that wasn't very much fun. I haven't found a good "highlights" video yet, but will post it
when I do.
I guess my thought is this let's not overreact. Yes, this is a bad result for us. Yes, I thought
the match was pretty evenly matched, so to come out of it with 0 points. Yes, it sucks to watch
Adebayor stomp a player in the face, get away with it, then score a goal and celebrate in front of
Arsenal's fans (stay classy, Ade.
Thanks to Studs Up for coming up with their usual brilliant take on a topical
issue. Perhaps if RVP and Ade see this they will laugh off their collective anger and the world
will be a better place, well probably not. CLICK HERE to see the comic sketch.

I don't have anything against City fans. These guys have suffered a lot over the last two decades.
Newcastle fans may lay a claim to have suffered more but atleast they didn't have a city rival
winning Premier league after league besides seeing their own club struggle to compete at the
highest level themselves.
Adebayor decided to remind us all of why we sold him today ahead of the game by saying that any
fans who booed him during his tenure with Arsenal are "not real fans" and "tomorrow they will
support Liverpool." He just doesn't get it, does he? The relationship between supporters and
players is just that a relationship.
After scoring an unnecessary goal in Man City's eventual 4-2 win over Arsenal on Saturday,
Emmanual Adebayor, who has been publicly stewing over how Arsenal fans stopped liking him when he
started expressing interest in other clubs' money, ran the length of the pitch in order to
tauntingly celebrate in front of the visiting Arsenal supporters section.
A three match ban at the least should settle the fact that Ade came to City to play in their
best interest. No, its about him. A personal score to settle with fans which spills over to the
players that were his former team mates. A fat paycheck.
Here he shows why he still lives in a bubble.
I have to give Mark Hughes his due, Arsene Wenger couldn't get Adebayor to play like he did on
Saturday even though he doubled his wages, as Johnny Lydon once wrote "Anger is an Energy" and
it obviously motivated Ade into the best game he has ever played.
I was angry at first at his goal celebration, mainly because he should not have been on the pitch
to score a goal, but now I think it is quite funny to think that us Arsenal fans caused him so much
pain that he tried so hard to get one over on us.
By STUART WATSON Well what a weekend and another game full of incident
and drama to keep us talking all through the week.

Despite the pathetic attempts of mark Hughes to distract people from the main point of issue,
and in an effort to draw a line under the incident on the Manchester City Website, the authorities
have taken a stance which indicates they will be making an example of Adebayor.
Mark Hughes said:
"There has been much discussion over the weekend regarding the various incidents in
Saturday's game which is understandable, Emmanuel Adebayor sustained a tremendous amount of
personal abuse from the kick-off but strongly maintains that there was no malice intended in the
challenge on Robin Van Persie and apologised to him when he hugged him on leaving the field of play
at the end of the game.
Someone with an awful lot of time on their hands has created something of a monster... a game
where you can be Adebayor.
You basically have to run, stamp on van Persie's head and then slide to your knees in-front of
the Arsenal fans, give it a try, for some reason I didn't seem to do very well.

The international break is finally at an end, and football returns tomorrow as we travel up to
the City of Manchester Stadium to play Manchester City.
Above is the photographic evidence of Adebayor's malice. As if there was any more reason needed
why he is not missed at Arsenal. Also, to make sure, he left because he was getting more money, so
to slag Arsenal fans for his move is pure projection. But that was not the extent of Ade's imprint
as he went after Cesc in the first half.
Well that was a bit of a kick in the teeth, wasn't it?
I felt sure, so sure (to quote Take That) that the universe would be aligned in our favour for the
game on Saturday. That we would hold the moral high ground with our system of breeding young talent
against city's collection of hideously over-paid egomaniacs.
I went to the game on Saturday and decided to post some thoughts on the game as a travelling
Gooner; there is only one place to start. Adebayor has now become the most hated figure amongst
Arsenal fans, even more so than Ashley Cole. When Adebayor turned towards the Arsenal fans before
his 90 yard gallop, he made himself enemy no.
Well deserved. There is also the improper conduct charge which is still pending. Adebayor did
not contest the violent conduct charge. He is expected to defend himself on the improper conduct
charge by putting the onus on the fans.
Cesc Fabregas also reveals that Adebayor gashed him on the calf.
Hear ye! Hear ye! The court is in session, Judge Longshot presiding.
A fortnight back, the right honorable Mickey Marbles told you how outraged he was that that poor
Paddy Kenny was getting 9 months without football for forgetting to read the ingredients on some
medicine.
Well, I wonder if anyone will be handing out 9 months for Ade's stamp on Van Persie, Diouf's
racist faux Pas or Bellamys doh-boy on a supporter, the greatest ever example of the sh*t hitting
the fan.
Lot of American/MLS influence today:
- Ade Akinbiyi to Notts County?
- Speaking of which, did New York pass on Sol Campbell?
- Is Roy Keane and Ipswich also interested in the waffling veteran?
- De Rosario to get a new deal?
- Houston gave Brian Ching one?
The battle for the Premiership trophy recommences in earnest on Saturday as the Gunners return
to Manchester. Unlike the red half, this visit should be a little easier and despite the millions
of pounds spent on Mark Hughes team, I cannot see that a bunch of mercenaries will triumph over
quality.
.....because he was obviously dropped on his head as a baby.
I often wonder if over the years he has developed a form of dementia. He seems to be very very
deluded. I'm sorry if I offend anyone with dementia. Being compared with Adebayor may seem
insulting but it is the only way I can describe his ramblings, especially his attempt at an
apology.
Hit with violent conduct has a nice "violent" feel to it, doesn't it? Kind of an eye for an
eye.
Anyways, this is the first part of the FA investigation and the most appropriate one in my mind.
Its an open and shut case. The other is the instigation of the Gunner fans with his over the top
celebration.

What a week it's been! We've seen UEFA give the green light for players to dive, Emmanuel
Adebayor do his best to cause a riot, Chelsea supremo Peter Kenyon finally doing the honourable
thing, all 4 English clubs producing narrow Champions League victories and radical new Premier
League and UEFA rulebooks have been revealed.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed the Gunners were close to sign Marouane Chamakh last
summer and he may make a new offer in January, if required.
The Frenchman said:
He is a player we were close to signing. But at the moment we have lost a little bit of touch
with him because there is no transfer period now.
