Soccerlens has brought you extensive transfer window coverage for several years now - and this
year we're asking you to join us in compiling the most comprehensive transfer news database on the
Internet.
Like before you'll have Eddie's excellent daily roundup of the latest transfer rumours and
confirmed transfers plus regular updates to our transfer lists for 9 European leagues from

With Rafa's 5th season at Anfield at a close, the summer ahead looks to be a crucial one in the
eyes of many of our fans. So many times I've seen ‘Rafa's Revolution' splattered across the pages
of the press, but this summer needs to be about evolution over revolution.
The departure of Sami Hyypia is more than just a farewell to a legend; he is the last signing of
the Houllier era to leave the club.
Wishful thinking!
Whilst most clubs are fawning over the internet in search of stories relating to brand spanking
new signings us Liverpool fans will just have to make do with what we have, which is a very capable
squad that is not nearly large or deep enough to withstand injury or loss of form from our big
names.
Yanks-Abroad is a great site. I read it near religiously. You should too.
The name alone, however, suggests its latent bias – one toward a preference for US players
that are playing abroad, and a (general) disinterest in MLS. That made Brent Latham's new
Yanks Abroad piece "PHILLY.
As originally reported here (in The Offside's First official scoop), Bill Hamid, Annandale
native and academy product, has signed with MLS and will be on DCU's roster as the third
goalkeeper. As a result of this and other additions like Shipalane, Habarugira, and James, someone
on the current roster will have to be cut.
Portsmouth's season is on the verge of collapse.
Liverpool's new Academy director Frank McParland has outlined plans for the overhaul of the club's
youth set-up.
Manager Rafael Benitez appointed McParland to conduct a review of the Academy earlier this year and
the changes required continue apace.
As reported in the Daily Post yesterday John McMahon has taken over from Gary Ablett as reserve
team coach, while several other changes to the coaching staff are expected over the coming weeks.
Well according to the article on World Soccer's website Bayern Munich look to continue adding
players and not selling anyone, including Franck Ribery. It appears that the next player Bayern are
after is Jose Boswinga, which would be a surprise considering that he did have a relatively
successful first season with Chelsea.
According to Rob Beasley at News of the World, Tottenham boss Harry
Redknapp wants £30 million so that he can go after three players. Redknapp said,
"I really want to try get this club back to how it was, put us back to where we think we
should be. And if I can get the three players I want in the summer I think we will have a terrific
team that can really push on next season.
Instead of bringing up some more MLS guys looking for their first shot with the Nats or some
guys in need of finding their form again, Bob Bradley has called on seven Confederation Cup players
to fill out the additional seven roster spots for his Gold Cup roster.
Here is the list:
Jozy Altidore
Jonathan Bornstein
Conor Casey
Ricardo Clark
Benny Feilhaber
Brad Guzan
Sacha Kljestan
These seven players will not be traveling with the 23-man U.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta came out with the most idiotic phrase ever yesterday as the
saga of Fabregas leaving continues. BORING.
Anyway this is what he had to say with the bold line showing his total stupidity:
"If they are interested in selling, we are interested in buying but if not, then we will look to
Fabregas.
"It's not easy to say no to a club like Barcelona. They are European champions, they're
in a lovely city and I like Spain a lot. I have always wanted to play at clubs like Barcelona. It's
a great club, any player would be happy for them to show an interest. I'm happy that Barcelona have
taken notice of me.
Good times lay ahead, we know that anyway. But.... Good times could be 99% assured this
season should we sign two players this January. I know it is a while off January at this time
but I'm sure Wenger is already looking ahead so shy shouldn't we. I'm not gonna mention the papers
because as soon as the window shuts they are looking for the next window moves, but anyway.
The Nerazzurri are working hard on a plan to bring in the Portuguese stopper Ricardo Carvalho to
the San Siro. Inter and Jose Mourinho are pushing for Chelsea defender Ricardo Carvalho as the
Nerazzurri continue their mission to strengthen. Having already made additions to the midfield and
attack, Mourinho, who coached Carvalho at Chelsea, is thinking about [.
According to Sky Sports News, Arsenal are not in a hurry to replace striker
Emmanuel Adebayor. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said,
"We're not on the verge of signing anybody but I'm able to spend the money if we find the
right players ... We're not in a hurry because we have a big squad.
Whilst Arsene Wenger has been quiet in the transfer market with regards the first team, the same
cannot be said with the youth recruitment programme.
Arsenal have signed Jamie Edge a centre half from Cheltenham Town. The youngster is 15 years old
and will be one of many additions to the youth set up this summer.
A few more additions to the list over the past few days while I continue to work on the definitive
Les Rosbifs directory. Most of the activity has centred around Scotland, with the big money being
spent by Celtic on Daniel Fox. The left-back was purchased from Coventry City for a fee of around
£1.5million [.
The run down to the closure of the transfer window has seen Boro heavily involved in transfer
activity, sadly it is with news of imminent departures rather than squad additions.
Sky are reporting that Robert Huth and Tuncay Sanli are undergoing medicals ahead of a move to
Stoke City for a reported joint fee of around £11M.
Sneijder was evidently in The Zone back in his Ajax days. By comparison, his best-of reel from
Real Madrid are closer in and more on the cheeky side. Yet this is an index of the quality in store
for Internazionale.
At Inter now, Mourinho was looking for a trequartista, but Sneijder brings also a
discerning nose for goal.
Mark Hughes heaped on the praise following last night's 2-1 victory over Fulham:
"It was a difficult night. Fulham scoring first was exactly what they wanted. They were
very well organised, with plenty of players behind the ball and difficult to break down.
"We had to be patient, keep the ball moving and create things, because with Craig, Carlos and
Shaun up front knocking high balls into their penalty box isn't an option.
Real Madrid's Kaka has been one of the most significant additions to the clubs
lineup. His near $110 million newly inked contract proves that he is one of the top stars in the
game. But we already knew that right.
Kaka - SEPTEMBER 20, 2009 - Football : Spanish 'Liga Espanola' match between Real Madrid 5-0
Xerez at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Madrid, Spain.
I coulda swore this guy was adamant about playing for a contender and in the Champions League.
Liverpool was the destination we all expected.
Regardless, it's a great get for City.
"There is great potential here, and I'm sure there will be more additions to the squad
this summer," said Barry.
Another outstanding La Liga season has come to a close and all the speculation for the 2009/2010
season has begun with the exciting time of the off-season. So let's take a look back at all the
First Division La Liga clubs this year from worst to first. Over the next month we will review
every La Liga squad, look back at the club's top performers this season, their season's highest
highs and lowest lows, and hopefully give you some insight into what your team might be doing to
get ready for next year.
The major success story of the past decade at the club has undoubtedly been the emergence of the
Academy, and the procession of players brought through to senior leve, which shows no sign of
abating.
The club today announced plans to expand the Academy on a global scale, with an initial Academy in
Abu Dhabi, followed by a venture into America.
To all of our USA audience, a happy fourth of July to each and every one of you. For those
inhabiting other countries, have a holiday in honor of the good ol' US of A. Even with the hustle
and bustle of the holiday, there's time to talk some Arsenal.
There's something of a story brewing with the Viola namely a rumored move of Felipe Melo to
Arsenal, brought up by some in the previous post.
Carlos Tevez is already accustomed to wearing light blue while on national team duty with
Argentina. It appears he is ready to wear the color full-time as he is on the verge of signing with
Manchester City.
The former Manchester United striker is set to join United's cross-town rival in a deal sure to
anger United fans who grew to love the mercurial striker.
Real Madrid coach Manuel Pellegrini is adamant the Spanish giants will cope if they cannot bring in
Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.
Although they have already spent close to £200million on Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema
and Raul Albiol this summer, Madrid are still looking to bring in more new faces and Alonso is near
the top of their wanted list.
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez
admitted that he is not going after Valencia striker David Villa.
He said,
"David Villa, he is not our target ... We have already signed Johnson, an
international for England.
The 2009-10 La Liga season is nearly upon us and we here at Mad About Fútbol will breakdown the
chances and player movement of all 20 teams in Spain's 1st division for the 2009-10 season. This
time we will breakdown Getafe Club de Fútbol, the Madrid side known as Azulones
LAST SEASON (2008-09):
Getafe barely stayed up in the 1st division last year.
#20: Gijon
Gijon needed to get much tougher on defense this off-season and to the club's credit they
brought in some young transfers from strong organizations reserve benches. Alberto Botia and Joni
Lopez join the squad. Botia was on transfer with Barca's reserve team and Lopez is on transfer
from the same club.

As the playoffs approach, late season additions can add that extra edge to equal playoff
success. For the Chicago Fire, the return of Brian McBride from shoulder surgery, perhaps as soon
as this weekend, could be just what the Fire need to push them over the top.
Alex Ferguson is known to rest his senior players to give the talented Manchester United
youngsters a shot at first team football. At the Toon, with a decimated squad, we have no choice
but to rest the senior players and give our youngsters a chance. They got that chance tonight in a
game against Peterboro.
If you were Harry, what would you do?
Portsmouth Vs Tottenham Tickets Still Available!
As we come ever nearer to the January transfer window and Harry Redknapp is linked with a never
ending list of potential signings, who would you ideally like to see Tottenham sign?
We here at Black Cloud Brigade headquarters feel it's important for potential recruits to
understand exactly what it means to be a part of the BCB. So to help further educate our potential
recruits, we offer this short mission statement to outline the goals and views of this elite
group.
The BCB reserves the right edit this mission statement as it sees fit.
For most folks out there the Coach of the Year debate is a three person race. Depending on the
how the final week goes we could include one or two others into the discussion.
Some coaches have lead their clubs from loads of draws early to the top of their conferences,
one has lead an expansion club to the playoffs for the second time in league history, while others
have just done what they always do.
TORONTO - Talented sweeper Rocco Picheca confirmed his return in 2010 as the sweeper of Pistolas
FC.
Plagued by injury for most of the 2009, the team knows exactly what he can produce when he's
healthy, and the lengthy off season should help.
More importantly, the additions of new players on defence not only adds depth to the team, but
relieves the demands and strains felt by Rocco, Luch, and Matt Dookie.
This is a big game. I don't care that it's April. I don't care that we're not fully healthy. We
need three points, this weekend. That's it. End of story. Houston is not considered to be a
contender this year, with losing DeRo, and not many more additions. The team [...]
Three games, a total of 270 minutes and zero goals scored by a New York Red Bulls player. Those
are the stats that stand out for the winless New York Red Bulls as they head to Houston this
weekend in search of their first goal and their first win of the season.
What has been the problem exactly?
Major League Soccer has seen tremendous growth over the past few seasons and has welcomed
Houston, Salt Lake, Seattle, and San Jose (again) but the additions are far from over. Next year we
will see Philadelphia added to the mix and two more teams the following year with expansion to
Portland and Vancouver.
This guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite additions to the site. If you aren't aware of
the antics, here is the last installment
The following is just a sampling of the philosophical discourse found on this vid, that can only
be attributable to the Red Bull Lunatic:
"Give it to Jeremy for Christ sake!
