additional seats the Impact will break the 30 year-old attendance record ,of 58,542, for a soccer

Much had been said about the revitalizing of the local football scene with talks of plans, ideas,
etc. that kept coming from the pipeline which finally saw the first LEGO block laid in the
foundation for such rebuilding.
Been a few weeks since our last look at stadium building, addition and renovation around Major
League Soccer. We'll start in Vancouver, where renovations continue at BC Place, with an expected
Fall 2011 re-opening. Until then, the Whitecaps will continue to play their games at Empire
Field, a 20k seat venue.
I know we're a year away from seeing the Montreal Impact enter Major League Soccer but it isn't
too soon to talk about their on-going stadium expansion. The club posted these photos today on
their website, showing off the latest renderings and models of the expanded Saputo Stadium.
According to the club, more than 7,000 seats will be added to the current stadium: 3,500 seats
in a new West grandstand, 1,250 additional seats in the Southeast and Southwest grandstands
(corners), as well as 1,000 additional seats in the East grandstand.
