After two straight losses, the Colorado School of Mines squad made sure that senior night
included a win to remember.
Five players scored as the Orediggers pounded the Adams State Grizzlies 8-1 on Friday night in
Golden. Tesho Akindele led the assault, scoring his first goal in the fifth minute, en route to his
sixth career hat trick.
Fort Lewis scored three times in a 56-second span to establish a new NCAA Division II record for
fastest three consecutive goals by one team in a 6-1 victory over Adams State Friday at Dirks
Field.
"It's something that we've been threatening to do all year, to start that way," coach Oige
Kennedy said.
Kaylee Smith scored her first goal of the 2011 season on Wednesday night as the Grizzlies won
their first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game of the season 1-0 over the New Mexico Highlands
University Cowgirls.
Smith's goal, which came in the 61st minute, came on one of her six shots she had during the
contest.
No. 11 Metro State opened Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play with a 5-1 victory over Adams
State at home on Friday.
The Roadrunners improved to 5-0-0 overall, while ASC fell to 3-2-0.
The Grizzlies came out on fire, with Autumn Boyer giving Adams State a 1-0 lead at 3:18.
Metro State rallied to take a 2-1 lead at halftime, tying the game at 38:19 on an own goal after
Nicole Pollack's shot from the top of the box was deflected into the net by an ASC defender.
Jessica Hellweg tallied her fourth and fifth goals of the young season on Sunday as she lead the
Grizzlies to their third victory of the 2011 season as they defeated the Angelo State University
Rambelles 2-1 in double overtime at the Rawlings Soccer Complex on the campus of CSU-Pueblo.
The Grizzlies, who won their second neutral-site game of the season in overtime, were led by
Hellweg who took five shots of the Grizzlies 15 shots.

Adams State College men's soccer has marked a lot of firsts in the team's brief history. On
Friday night, the Grizzlies grabbed several firsts as the team recorded its most goals, largest
margin of victory, first shutout and first visit to a .500 record.

as the Grizzlies dominated the UT-Permian Basin Falcons, 4-0, at ASC Soccer Field.
CSU-Pueblo and Adams State made the most of the Labor Day Weekend, playing the latest game of
the weekend and giving fans of both sides caused to cheer on Monday night.
In the end, however, it was the Thunderwolves with the most to celebrate as the side from Pueblo
beat the Grizzlies 2-1.
The Thunderwolves appeared to be in command, as CSU-Pueblo scored once in each half to take a
commanding lead.
