Sunday's men's soccer match at Mountain Lion Stadium in Colorado Springs made a lot of sense.

On the field, Robert Kinsey had a hat trick and added an assist to lift Colorado State-Pueblo to a 5-3 victory over Colorado-Colorado Springs.

But what made sense is that there was a match at all.

The Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team won its fourth straight match, posting a 2-0 victory over Colorado Christian on Sunday afternoon in Golden. The win helped the Orediggers secure the No. 2 seed in the RMAC tournament, the highest seed Mines has ever earned.

Dani Hering gave Mines a lead in the 10th minute of the match.

Kayla Mitchell scored four goals, including her conference-leading 26th of the season, as the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer team posted its 12th shutout, a 4-0 victory against CSU-Pueblo on Friday in Golden.

The Orediggers have shut out seven of their past eight opponents.

Mitchell gave Mines a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, when Liz Oba chipped a ball over the CSU-Pueblo defense.

Euan Purcell's treble and Byron Cephers' brace led the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team as it recorded an 11-0 victory against Colorado Christian University on Sunday in Lakewood.

Fort Lewis, ranked No. 6 in the nation, recorded 49 shots in the victory to improve to 13-1 overall, 10-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Jeff Nelson of the Colorado School of Mines' men's soccer team was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.

Nelson, a senior forward from Laramie, scored four goals and tallied two assists to help Mines to a pair of victories last weekend. In Mines' 4-3 win at CSU-Pueblo on Friday, Nelson scored a pair of goals, including the winner, and added an assist.

Sophomore midfielder Riley Gallagher scored his first goal of the season and junior goalkeeper Adam Liszewski increased his shutout string to 276-plus minutes as the Colorado-Colorado Springs men's soccer team claimed a 1-0 victory over visiting Adams State College on Tuesday night at Mountain Lion Stadium.

James Copeland scored as the Regis University men's soccer team tied the 15th-ranked Colorado School of Mines on Friday in Denver.

Regis remained unbeaten in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Rangers' record is 4-2-3 overall, 2-0-3 in conference.

"Whenever you play Mines, it is going to be a tough match, especially when they are ranked in the Top 15," Regis coach Tony McCall said.

Santa Clara 1, Colorado 0 OT: At Palo Alto, Calif., the Buffaloes dropped their second contest in the Stanford?Nike Invitational. Linder would be tested two more times in a one-minute span, coming up with the saves on both attempts, however with less than two minutes to play in the first overtime period, Santa Clara would seal the deal and finally sneak past Linder for the win.

Colorado College 4, New Hampshire 0: The Tigers cashed in on a pair of corner kicks early in the match and never looked back. Sophomore defender Beth Wright scored a goal and assisted on another in the opening 13 minutes of play at Stewart Field in Colorado Springs.

A record crowd of 878 at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs saw the Mountain Lions drop a 1-0 match to No. 15 Rockhurst on Friday night.

Walter Moskop scored in the 53rd minute to disappoint a crowd that staged a march to Mountain Lion Stadium before the match.

More than 400 UCCS students gathered at the campus' housing village then walked down Austin Bluffs Parkway and up North Nevada Avenue to the stadium.
