Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici has pledged his immediate future to the Royals after reports
linked him with a move to Liverpool.
The Australian goalkeeper impressed in both FA Cup games against the Premier League side but
Federici is adamant his future lies at Madejski Stadium.
"I have worked so hard to be number one, why would I want to go up there, sit on the bench and
start over?
Steven Gerrard rescued Liverpool again with an equaliser at the Madejski Stadium to earn an FA Cup
third-round replay against Reading and avoid an embarrassing defeat.
It was hardly the most influential performance from Gerrard but the Liverpool skipper produced a
goal when his side needed it most, as he does so often, meaning the two clubs will meet again at
Anfield.
We have a new entry into the rumours of interest from Liverpool today as Adam Federici is thrown
into the hat.
The Reading goalkeeper is believed to have impressed Rafa during the recent FA Cup match at the
Madejski Stadium with the Reds Boss ready to watch him again in the replay at Anfield next week.
Reading insist they have had no contact from Liverpool over Adam Federici despite reports last week
linking the keeper with a £2million move to Anfield.
Royals' caretaker manager Brian McDermott said that his 24-year-old keeper won't be affected by the
speculation when the two teams meet in an FA Cup third-round replay tonight.
UPDATE: According to Anthony Smith at The Reading Chronicle,
Liverpool have not made any contact with Federici. Federici
said,
"It's been quite interesting to read about the stuff but I've had no contact from anyone ...But
he obviously knew what he was doing and I've had no contact from any club .
