News broke over the weekend that Tottenham Hotspur's club secretary, John Alexander, would be replacing Ken Ramsden when he retires at the end of the season.

Alexander is becoming just the fifth post-war secretary and has been chosen very carefully. He is known as one of the best in the business and Spurs were understandably keen to hold on to their secretary, who had spent almost ten years at the club.
