Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard were both forced out of Liverpool's FA Cup match with Reading
today due to injury.

According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United are ready to make F.C Porto's centre
back Jorge Rolandotheir first acquisition of the transfer window

The Portland Timbers announced the club has appointed USL Division II head coach Gavin
Wilkinson as the Technical Director for the Timbers' Major League Soccer franchise, which is slated
to begin play in 2011.

The Chicago Fire have announced the acquisition of defender Krzysztof Krol (second from right) on
loan from Polish club Jagiellonia Bialystok. He will be added to the Fire's roster pending receipt
of his P-1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate.
"Krzysztof is a solid defender who will make an immediate impact on the team with his style of
play," said Fire technical director Frank Klopas.
It's been a while since I last spoke with Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas so we had a few
things to catch up on when we talked today. First on the list was the Fire's newest player,
defender Krzysztof Krol. The 22-year-old Krol, who the Fire officially acquired on loan from Polish
team Jagiellonia Bialystok, will likely fill the void left by Gonzalo Segares at left back.
The Philadelphia Union has announced the signing of U.S. youth international defender Michael
Orozco on loan from San Luis FC of the Mexican first division. In order to make the signing,
Philadelphia needed to move up to the #1 spot in the MLS allocation order; they accomplished this
by arranging a trade with the team that held the coveted spot, the New York Red Bulls.
