It's been quite the journey for Sal Zizzo.
From the 2007 U-20 World Cup, where he showed enough promise to earn a contract with Hannover 96
to an injury-marred stay in Germany that saw him earn eight first-team appearances in three
seasons.
And now, he's coming to MLS.
Per Jeff Carlisle at ESPN, U.S. international midfielder Sal Zizzo is coming home, to Major
League Soccer. The former U20 and U23 international recently saw his contract with German side
Hannover 96 end which made way for this move back to this side of the pond with MLS.
According to Carlisle and his sources, Zizzo will be placed in a weighted lottery on Wednesday
with Kansas City and D.

From injuries to transferring between schools to dark nights away from the game that he loves,
one goal has kept Sam Garza from the brink.
His dream of representing the United States in a major international competition.
Unfortunately, knee injuries are all to commonplace in the sport of soccer. In particular girls
suffer anterior cruciate injuries at a rate that is 4-8 times higher than their male counterparts.
The reasons for this increased risk are somewhat debatable but most researchers suggest that
deficiencies in strength, balance, agility and technique play key roles.
Last week, U.S. defender Heather Mitts invited anyone on the WNT who was interested, to attend a
free Yoga session at the Green Yogi in Manhattan Beach. Seems that Mitts made friends with an
instructor there (who like Mitts, happens to be from Cincinnati) and she offered to lead the U.S.
WNT through a session of vinyasa yoga.

Boy that didn't last long. As the financial issues continue to mount in St. Louis for Jeff
Cooper's club some players are already leaving the club including longtime MLS veteran Steve
Ralston. Reports this morning say Ralston is now headed back to MLS to play with the New England
Revolution once again.

One thing we've heard all winter long out of Denver is that Gary Smith would be re-doing a good
portion of his roster. Currently we are waiting on one trade to finalize between the Rapids and New
England Revolution but for now we can discuss one trade that is final.

As the transfer window is about to close on April 15th (see, that day is kind of important) it
should be noted that many teams are still adding players. This includes the soon to visit Kansas
City Wizards who just added Indian (sub-continent) Forward Sunil Chhetri to their squad. Yes, they
lost Zoltan to an ACL injury, but Chhetri has been in camp for a while, so this was an intended
move for some time.

After the Atlanta Braves lost Chipper Jones to an ACL injury, they needed to make a move if they
hoped to stay in front of the streaking Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East. By trading with the
Chicago Cubs and acquiring Derrek Lee, the Braves did just that. If Lee stays healthy and continues
to swing the bat well, he could more than make up for the loss of Chipper Jones.
Emmanuel Frimpong whose Arsenal trajectory was just taking off suffered an ACL injury during
training that will keep him out for the next six to nine months. At the time Frimpong was in Dublin
training with the reserves to play friendlies against Man Utd's reserves and Shamrock Rovers.
Arsenal fans who had hopes that the highly rated holding midfielder would see first squad action

The Comeback Player of the Year.
In some years the CPY is truly someone that had a great year after coming back from a big
injury.
