Barcelona defender Gabriel Milito could see his career in jeopardy as he has not been allowed to
run recover appropriately from his ACL tear back on May 5th. The timetable for his recovery
was scheduled at about six months, but things look like he will return probably in February.

It ruled me out for five-plus months of play just four years ago. Now it's taken The Bison off
the field for at least six.
Sky Sports obviously had some bum news over the weekend when it reported Michael Essien had
suffered an ankle injury and would miss around four weeks. Now, the club's official website,
reveals Essien, in fact, ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the best part of a
year.
Tonight I saw history repeated. I saw a real warrior knocked down. In the final USWNT game before
departing for China and the Olympics, Abby Wambach broke her leg while trying to score her 100th
goal for the USWNT.
She managed to force a smile and showed amazing inner strength and fortitude while being treated on
the field.
Sexism can be simple and obvious (e.g. the FA ban on the women's game, or Man U's Christmas 'Rape'
party). More often, it's subtle, complex, and really hard to tackle. Take, for example, the impact
of poor medical understanding of women in general on women athletes in particular. We see this in
the alarming frequency with which women athletes who play especially soccer and basketball suffer
ACL
The anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, which is found in the knee, is very, very small.
Yet, it can be so big at times. Especially for sports clubs. Like, say, for the New England
Patriots or Chelsea. Today, athletes seem to be tearing their ACLs at an alarming rate. In the
last few days, two of sport's most exciting athletes, Tom Brady [.

I recently spent some time with Ron Prenger and Dr Russell Bond at Cox Health being introduced
to a new community program they have launched to help prevent ACL injuries in female soccer
players. The Glendale Soccer website first pointed to the issue last September when webmaster Bob
Jordan linked to a story in USA Today about the PEP Program.
AFTER his recent exploits in the ACL and at last year's Asian Cup, a little guttered there'll be no
Yasuhito Endo at the Olympic Games. But for those of you who have been following the exploits of
Uzbekistan's Kuruvchi in the ACL due to the quality of the likes of Djeparov and Kapadze, the news
that they've been linked with Samuel Eto'o sure will have grabbed your attention.
Sad, he's like the only guy I can stand on Chelsea.
He'd always be in my best XI.
But he torn his ACL playing for Ghana and now he's done for the year.
With all the offensive weapons the Blues have, they probably won't notice. But this could
definitely ruin the balance on the team.

The biggest surprise in this game might be that Lawndale's Kei Kamara actually found the net for
Houston. The second biggest surprise: so did Houston's Nate Jaqua, the former goal-averse Galaxy
forward.
The attendance without any Mexican teams involved in the final: just 9,232
*From the (edited) Galaxy press release:
reserve goalkeeper Charles Alamo and midfielder Michael Gavin each suffered serious
injuries in Sunday night's reserve game in San Jose (a 1-0 loss) and will miss extended periods of
time.
A very big truck from SAKAI.
The other codes said Aussies didn't care about the Asian Champions League.
Well here's evidence to show they do.
Adelaide United just 900 tickets left for tonights Quater Final against Kashima Antlers. What code
wouldn't like a midweek sell-out!
I'd be curious to know more about this. ACL injuries happen but are they is 1500 women a large
enough of a group for this sort of a study? After all, ACL's don't happen all that often, do they?
And why didn't they have a picture of Heather Mitts?
US News And World Report:
The ACL is an important knee ligament.
Getafe will not be able to even use his one of their signings and the big Spanish teams will now
have more reason as to not letting their players go when London 2012 rolls around. Argentine
international Oscar Ustari will be out of action after he tore his ACL in the quarterfinal match
against the Netherlands.
Adelaide United made history as they became the first Australian team to progress to the knock-out
stages of the Asian Champions League. One word describes the performance of Adelaide:
Resolute. The performance of the players was nothing short of immense. Resolute & Immense While all
the players put in notable performances, the stand-outs were undoubtedly the central [.

It's been an emotional couple of weeks of Adelaide's Robbie Cornthwaite.
The club's foundation defender has not only found himself unwittingly dragged into a spitting storm
but he's also been the target of abuse from his own supporters for scoring a horror own goal in the
away leg of the AFC Champions League quarter-final against Kashima Antlers
But on Wednesday night in Adelaide, Cornthwaite banished all those demons with a tie-winning headed
goal which secured a 2-1 aggregate win over the 10-time Japanese champions and a passage into the
final four.
