The 2009-10 English Football Association Cup or FA Cup is now in the third round. It's been
around for over a 100 years and allows any club in England a chance to win the cup. Recently, it
has been dominated by the Premiership but notable upsets have occurred with League One and Two
clubs. The third round draw has been released and contains some very interesting fixtures
including Manchester United v Leeds United, West Ham v Arsenal, Aston Villa v Blackburn Rovers,
Wigan Athletic v Hull City, and Reading v Liverpool.

game for Rangers vs. Dundee United on Tuesday. The midfielder once again had a stellar outing,

The English Football League Trophy or Johnstone's Paint Trophy (JPT) had its Northern and
Souther sections semifinals on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. The matches included Leeds United v
Accrington Stanley, Carlisle United v Bradford City, Hereford United v Milton Keynes Dons, and
Southampton v Norwich City.
Winter has suddenly and not entirely expectedly descended on England this week and, predictably,
it is playing merry havoc with the football schedules on the last Saturday before Christmas. At the
time of writing, thirteen matches in the Football League have already been postponed, and it is
likely that more will follow.
Leeds United have extended the loan deal of Liverpool goalkeeper David Martin until the end of
January.
Martin joined the League One leaders at the end of November and was due to return to Anfield after
Monday's game against Stockport County.
However, Whites boss Simon Grayson is keen to ensure he has sufficient cover after Shane Higgs
encountered a setback in his recovery from injury.
