Victoria won the U13 National Championships which was held in Canberra this week.
With the accent truly on creative football, touch and individual skilled meshed into a passing,
movement game Victoria - perhaps with some of the smallest players - came and conquered all before
them.
Few could match them.
Al Gore invented the internet for a number of reasons; none of them were more important than
broadcasting Jamie Carragher's accent to the world, especially when impersonated by others.
The gent on the left, Darren Farley, has obtained immense notoriety for his Liverpool
impersonations in the YouTube era, and rightly so.
Ah, there's nothing like celebrating a comeback goal like a
five-year-old, is there?! Just ask Thomas Vermaelen, who scored
the winner in stoppage time for Arsenal in their thrilling 2-1 win over Newcastle last night.
Vermaelen's goal sealed the deal with a SNAP because no other team has
trailed from a goal down (each time) to win four consecutive Premier League games.
The U.S. team has proved quite popular with the Canadian media so far (and thanks also to the
several American journalists in town!). Of course, the U.S. playes obliged with many interviews
which of course serve to promote the game, the team and the tournament. Above, Becky Sauerbrunn
gives her thoughts on various soccer topics.

During the friendly against Uruguay, it was not only the style of play expectorated out by our boys
in blue that caught the eye, nor simply Riccardo Montolivo's pale, cold, and bewitching face, and
more than just Cesare Prandelli's jacket, it was the dazzling new blue shirts worn by the Azzurri
that truly slapped the mind of this restless footballing warrior (apologies to Elton John for that
metaphor) with the cold hand of seduction, perfumed on the wrist with a heady glamour tinged with
the unearthly fumes of nostalgia, all the while softly intoning in a luscious Pisan accent a call
for it's soft, azure fabric to be worn in sickness and in health, an irresistible siren's call from
an antique realm.
In the twenty-first century, few things are sacred. For many football supporters, traditions are
being ripped up at such a dizzying pace that it can feel impossible to keep up with what is
current. In some corners of the culture of the game, though, traditions are kept alive and one of
the most enduring is that, at five o'clock on a Saturday afternoon, the BBC will cut away to a
supremely jaunty piece of military music called "Out Of The Blue", which will be followed by some
brief headlines and the classified results.
Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi confessed that the English language was not a major problem in London
although the accent of some was a surprise. Speaking to Arsenal's official website earlier this
month, the Japanese opted not ...
An Interview With a Professional Scouser: Part 1
We all know one, unfortunately. Someone who truly believes that their geographical location –
their accent – automatically elevates them to a ‘holier than thou' status in the context of
being a Liverpool supporter.
One of our first football manager games had Gianluca Vialli on the cover, and
it wasn't the best one around but the former Chelsea (player-manager), Juventus and Sampdoria man
is still quite a character. For starters, Vialli's English-Italiano accent remains quite sexy
thanks to his wife!
I'm just going to put this bit of ignorance out there to start the day: every town in Italy looks
exactly the same. Or at least my never-been-to-Italy ass thinks so. Seriously, this looks like an
interview sequence from the current, Florence-filmed season of Jersey Shore; I half-expected to see
a cut of Sammi drunk & crying and a coked-out Situation making "that face" as he looks out over the
top of his sunglasses before the whole thing was over.
Chips, hats and alcohol free Amiens 0-1 Le Havre (12:08:11) Reporting on the first leg of a
three-part French and Belgian European Football Weekend, Andy Hudson of Gannin' Away... The coach
turned onto Buckingham Palace Road. "Thank fuck we're here" came the mackem accent from behind me,
"I'm never doing that again" it continued before morphing into a yawn.
Cesc Fabregas returns to his boyhood club
From the FCB website:
Arsenal FC and FC Barcelona have reached the beginnings of an agreement for the transfer of Cesc
F bregas with the documents to be signed and the medical to take place on Monday.
The website also details his return to Barcelona after eight seasons with the Gunners where he
established himself as one of the world's foremost midfielders.
One of our favourite USMNT hotties turns a year older today, and we kindly request all Kickettes
to put your thinking caps on try to help us hastily rearrange our originally planned birthday
celebrations for Bolton Wanderers 'baller of the year.
Although Holden's been out of action due to injury since March, as he informs us on Twitter,
he's just resumed training on grass today.
ESPN's Major League Soccer fantasy league is broken into segments, and the first of those is
over. Your rosters in our league are BLANK. Go adjust them, but not until you read
the rest of this post. Because there are some things that segment one should have taught you, and
some traps that segment two has for you.

The Los Angeles Galaxy media team did a couple of videos while the players were in pre-season
training in Arizona. In one they focus on some of the rookies and their new experience as
professionals in their first weeks with the team. In another they focus on the 'keepers and on the
long-time relationship between new Galaxy assistant coach Curt Onalfo and Head
Coach Bruce Arena.
Chicago, IL On January 20, 2011, the Chicago Fire reported that Nery Castillo would be joining
Greek club Aris FC. Apparently, Castillo wasn't all that Aris received from the Fire. The
Fire also provided Aris with a memorandum containing sample press conference responses.
According to team sources, the Fire received this memorandum from officials at Manchester City
and they apparently received a copy from Shaktar Donetsk and paid to translate it into
English.

Mad Tony Cassano gives team-mate Rodney Strasser a friendly squeeze in the sphincter zone, just
seconds after Cassano had set up Strasser for Milan's winner at Cagliari.
Bum love is the only language Cassano can speak that Strasser understands, apparently.

Having mastered the Dutch/English crossover accent, McClaren's at it again and this time he's
giving us his best impression of a German man speaking English, or should that be an Englishman, in
Germany, speaking English, with a German accent? You decide.
