A nice little media event took place earlier today in the Gateway City with Jeff Cooper and the
rest of the St. Louis United bunch to reveal the club's name and crest.
The club is going to be called AC St. Louis. The logo as you see is pretty basic and I
definitely like the colors (I'm a sucker for anything green and yellow).
Looks like AC St Louis has some more work to do before they'll be playing in a sanctioned
league. With the decision below, any player that signs with AC St Louis will not be allowed to play
in a USSF sanctioned league, including MLS.
CHICAGO (Dec. 30, 2009) – The U.S. Soccer Board of Directors voted unanimously on Tuesday to not
sanction either the USL or the NASL to operate a Division II professional league in 2010.
Jeff Cooper finally has his men's soccer club, and the outdoor professional game has returned to
St. Louis after a long absence. Sure, we don't even know if the league AC St. Louis intends to
play...
The new St. Louis team name, logo, coach and the director of player development were all introduced
yesterday. AC St Louis is the name. The logo you can see to the side. The coach is Claude Anelka,
brother of Nicolas Anelka.The director of player development is Francisco Filho, who worked with
Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United and at the French national academy for almost 30 years.

Louis University hosted a panel called Sport Business & Soccer.
