Manager Massimiliano Allegri was gracious in defeat after last night's game in the San Siro but
he was also defiant, claiming that the loss was undeserved.
Speaking on Sky Sports Italia he said: "We are paying the price for the mistake we made on the
counter-attack. We were looking for the goal against Tottenham, who defended very well and it was
difficult to find space.
You might remember that when we beat Inter Milan 3-1 earlier this season, that a video was soon
doing the rounds, featuring the hysterical reaction to the defeat, from the Italian version of
Sky's Soccer Saturday.
The video featured a fanatical Inter supporter going nuts, as his team capitulated.
Only one place to start today and that's with Spurs' historic win in the San Siro. Milan coach
Masimiliano Allegri had identified Aaron Lennon and Peter Crouch as the main dangers yesterday and
so it proved as the two combined to seal the 80th minute winner.
Speaking on the club website, Harry Redknapp said: "It was a fantastic performance and the lads
were absolutely brilliant.
AC Milan aren't without their injury problems for tonight and coach Massimiliano Allegri has
named a 19-man squad for the tie.
Allegri is without Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Ambrosini, Andrea Pirlo and Filippo Inzaghi,
while former Spur Kevin Prince-Boateng will also miss out.
The Milan chief has stated that he respects Spurs and is wary of the threat that they pose:
"Aaron Lennon is a very quick and intelligent player, Peter Crouch is a good player too so we will
need to be careful.
Nearly 39 years ago, Spurs squared up to AC Milan in the semi final of the UEFA Cup. Tottenham
had largely breezed through the 1971/72 tournament, starting with a demolition of Keflavik and
taking out Nantes, Rapid Bucarest and UT Arad along the way.
Milan were likely to prove a tougher test if Spurs were to progress and contest the first ever
UEFA Cup final.
The club website has confirmed that Gareth Bale has not travelled with the squad to Milan and
will therefore take no part in this evening's clash.
Some brighter news appeared to be the presence of Luka Modric, but Harry Redknapp feels it's a
little too soon for him to get involved.
"He joined in yesterday and will do a little bit tonight, but at the moment I wouldn't see him
starting the game.
AC Milan may be without three key players for the first leg of the Champions League tie against
Spurs on February the 15th.
Alessandro Nesta, Clarence Seedorf and Gennaro Gattuso all picked up knocks on Sunday in the
club's 2-0 win over Cesena and look set to miss a minimum of three weeks action.
