According to the Barcelona website Miami will be graced with a wonderful soccer game that will
involve Barcelona of Spain versus A.C. Milan! Game is said to be scheduled for August 3, 2011.
Two of the best teams in the world in our backyard!
A.C. Milan's current roster includes
Italians Massimo Ambrosini,Gennaro Iván Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Alessandro Nesta, Filippo Inzaghi,
German Kevin-Prince Boateng, Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, American Oguchi Onyewu Brazilians
Alexandre Pato, Robinho, Ronaldinho, Dutch star Clarence Seedorf and Colombian Mario Yepes just to
name a few.
On the move???After a World Cup campaign filled with headline grabbing drama, some U.S. internationals are being
linked to interesting transfers. Here are a few that have (Gerard) Piqued my interest.
Clint Dempsey to a big European club (maybe Milan??). A move away from Fulham could take a cheap
but productive FPL player off the table.
While America had what is surely a solid run in South Africa, they have, as we all know, long
since been knocked out. Yet, while the tournament still rages on in preparation for Sunday's final,
Americans are showing a newfound interest in the sport; one that is not entirely built around the
hype of a world event but reflects a deeper enjoyment of the game.

Do MLS coaches know better than Sir Alex Ferguson when it comes to length of preseason camps?
Not likely.

Why Major League Soccer teams should shorten preseason camps
Major League Soccer has certainly reached its dog days.

The royal penis is clean, er, perhaps not as big as those ads had led us to believe...
If your Italian is not so good, the story is as follows: Elena Di Cioccio, a reporter for Silvio
Berlusconi's Uno station (yes, Berlusconi also owns AC Milan, Beckham's current home), wanted to
see if Becks was really packing Dirk Diggler-heat downstairs, as all those pants ads suggest.
I ask myself that question two or three times a year and rarely come up with a discernible
answer. Is it the language, the culture, the food? Maybe it's the pop music? Whatever the answer
is, I wish it wasn't so. I wish I could see English footballers deputizing or leading an attack
for Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Roma, Lyon, Bordeaux or any of the clubs in the fantastic
Bundesliga.

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has a black belt in taekwondo (no word of a
lie), and was seen putting his skills to use by punting his new Rossoneri teammate
Rodney Strasser square in the ribs during a training sessions t'other day.
Once the greatest player in the world, it's obvious that Ronaldinho's best days are behind him.
Of course, you never lose talent, only fitness, and when he's in the mood to play he's still one of
the best players in the world. Sure, he spends most of his time in Milan checking out the
nightclubs and hanging out on the left wing of the pitch waiting for the ball to be fed to him, but
the guy still has some gas left in him.
Rafa surely ready to reject massive bids!

Inter Milan are preparing a bid for Steven Gerrard should Liverpool fail to qualify for
the Champions League.
One of the things about the World Cup is that it puts the sport into perspective. With 64 games
in one month, it's easy to get a cross-section of where a country is. How well it's doing relative
to the other teams in the tournament. What the level of officiating is. And what improvements are
necessary.
AC Milan fans get the Armani ad live-show AC Milan are certainly getting their money's-worth out of
David Beckham. Just his second match for the club and he is already performing an on-pitch
striptease. Away from the underwear department, it was another fine display from Becks as he
grabbed an assist in a 3-0 win over Juventus.
So Landon Donovan wants to stay at Everton FC.
The 27-year old LA Galaxy forward has been on loan at Goodison Park since January. He's done
very well, better than just about anybody had anticipated. He now wants to extend the loan, perhaps
permanently.
This makes Donovan a hypocrite in the eyes of many, because he criticized David Beckham for wanting
to do essentially the same thing one year ago.
Rio Ferdinand has claimed that the dressing room atmosphere didn't match what someone might
perceive a dressing room to look like after beating AC Milan 4-0.
He says the mentality at United requires you to always look forward to the next game and how
this attitude is different to that of other clubs he's played for.
This week's Ultimate 11's is transfers that shook the world. Who can remember David Jack's
controversial £10,890 move from Bolton to Arsenal back in 1928? Not even Mickey Marbles remembers
that one! Or how about the rather unfortunate Gianluigi Lentini who signed for AC Milan in a world
record fee of £13m, only to be involved in a serious car crash a year after signing, the extent of
the injuries he received were a fractured skull and damaged eye socket and he spent approximately 2
days in a light coma.
Remember where you heard this information first...
Ronaldinho to sign for Los Angeles Galaxy
AC Milan's Ronaldinho is in talks to sign for MLS team Los Angeles Galaxy! His agent and
brother, Roberto De Assis was in LA to watch them win 4-1 against my favorite MLS team, Houston
Dynamo.
This is a shot of AC Milan's Marco Boriello's girlfriend Belen Rodriguez. Our advice: Look but
don't touch. Why? Read the story below...
Rodriguez got famous from dating Boriello... but not just because he is a professional soccer
player. Boriello tested positive for steroids.

A little something to brighten this grey Monday...
Model Belen Rodriguez used to date Milan striker Marco Borriello. She once gave him an STD. True

Steven Gerrard is ready to quit Liverpool in his desperate search for trophies.
The Kop captain is considering leaving this summer for a £30m move – with Real Madrid the likely
destination – as the team struggles under Rafa Benitez.
Steven Gerrard is increasingly concerned at the direction his club is moving and is worried they
are losing touch with major clubs at home and abroad.
Arsene Wenger considers bringing a hugely talented young striker to the Emirates.

Romelu Lukaku: Arsenal to Seal Late £9.
Sports Illustrated has released the list of 29 players that Italy Coach Marcello Lippi will
invite to training camp for the national team. The forwards list looks something like this:
Strikers: Marco Borriello (AC Milan), Antonio Di Natale (Udinese), Alberto Gilardino
(Fiorentina), Vincenzo Iaquinta (Juventus), Giampaolo Pazzini (Sampdoria), Fabio Quagliarella
(Napoli).
I suppose Major League Soccer has really evolved because now for once clubs are directly
involved with the silly season or transfer season. Believe what you will during this time too as
some rumors are crazy ones.
This one however may not be so crazy. Then again at this point I don't know what to believe when
it comes to Brazilian Ronaldinho and where he will go or if he will indeed stay with AC Milan.
Aaah, so that's maybe why he left Inter and Barcelona This is the moment when Ibra casually
introduced himself to teammate Rodney Strasser during a training session with his new side AC
Milan. It looks like a cross between playground bullying and dreadful karate classes as a kid.
Whatever the reason, Zlat has forged a [.
As we discussed in last week's podcast, the USA has 23 roster spots to fill for the coming World
Cup. No one (including, it seems, Bob Bradley) is set on the number of players we're taking for
each position or the overall look of the squad. Compounding the issue is that even the most
hardcore supporters of the US Men's National Team have difficulty keeping track of all of the
players currently listed on the website's Player Pool.
For those lacking the context AC Milan is in DC for a post-Serie A friendly with DC United.
From the Washington Post's Paul Tenorio on Twitter:
Quote: Media: How difficult is it to stay motivated for this tour after a long season?
Seedorf: We're not motivated.
Last week Daryl offered up his 10 Footballers Who Defined The Decade you may remember it as the
post featuring that stunningly cinematic photo of Figo, Zidane and Ronaldo 1.0 looking back on the
oh-oh's and the footballers who made it what it was. They weren't all the best players of the
decade [.
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) today announced Brazil's preliminary squad for the
World Cup in South Africa. 23 players have made the provisional squad. The CBF will also release
details of a further seven ‘reserves' over the next day or so. Brazil will begin training in
Curitiba on the 21st of this month and Dunga has until June 1st to finalize the 23 players he'll be
taking to the World Cup.
Season is over, and now the fun stuff can begin... First, a bit of self-advertisement, just wrote
an article on Serie A Talk to check out on Parma and Guidolin, check that awesome stuff out here.
Second, a bit of MLS migration news, it's interesting to see recent comments by Juventus midfielder
Diego who said this about the MLS,
"I find Major League Soccer quite interesting and I could compete in it one
day.
On behalf of the Italy Offside, I'd like to congratulate Ronaldinho on his pregnancy. He looks
about 4 months in. Can't wait to see him walking around the pitches of Serie A come August.
Various Serie A news from the day:
- Happy Birthday Antonio Cassano! Fantantonio turns 28 today.
Interest is mounting for Brazilian hot property Hernanes who is strongly linked with a move to
Italy but has also attracted the interest of a number of Premier League sides. Liverpool are the
latest club to be linked with the playmaker in the Brazilian press with claims that Roy Hodgson
will step up his chase for the talented South American by financing the move with the sale of a
number of fringe players and Javier Mascherano.
If this were an journalistic enterprise, and believe it or not I do have a few standards, I'm not
sure I could get away with posting this bit of "news."
Luckily, this is just a blog, so I'm going to post it anyway while making sure to frame it with
serious amounts of skepticism.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid are training at UCLA ahead of the game against the Galaxy
Saturday in Pasadena (AFP/Getty Images).
Regular readers know I'm not a big fan of the innumerable international exhibition games we've
seen this summer, but for everything there is an exception and in Southern California that
exception is Real Madrid.
Amid all the tributes being paid to Wayne Rooney after another virtuoso performance on Tuesday
evening against AC Milan took his goals tally for the season to 25, it was easy to forget that
Dimitar Berbatov was even at San Siro.
He's been a superb fantasy footie selection this year as well as Manchester City's number one
player on their quest for Champions League football, but it looks like Carlos Tevez is set to leave
City in the summer after a falling out with manager Roberto Mancini.
The 26 year old Argentine is in the prime of his career and has already scored 29 goals for
Manchester City this season, but it has been reported that the scar-faced striker does not
appreciate Mancini's training methods and is looking for a move.
Tipped by Grant Wahl on Twitter this morning, it appears that Oguchi Onyewu will spend at least
another year with AC Milan after he renewed his contract with the Rossoneri. But here's the
kicker:...
Alecko Eskandarian's career as a professional soccer player has had its ups and downs. After
coming out of high school with 154 goals and being named an All- American, New Jersey State Player
of the Year, and Gatorade's 1999-2000 National Athlete of the Year, he went onto UVA, where he
scored 50 goals in 60 games and was named ACC Rookie of the Year, Soccer America's College Player
of the Year, and was awarded the Hermann Trophy.
Clearly AC Milan couldn't hack it in MLS ;-). So, I guess the first question to ask is: was it
worth losing Barklage (a squad role-player), probably for the season, in order to get our strikers
some confidence by having them score against some...

First of all picking the best La Liga transfer of the 2009/2010 season is like being the judge
of a swimsuit competition. There are so many wonderful choices that could be potentially made
and such great "assets" for each talented contestant. But what would be the fun in not picking
anyone at all?
If I told you Rino Gattuso opened a shop near Milan and asked you to guess what kind of shop it
is, the smart guess would be one that sells various weapons, torture devices, and rabies
medication.
Well, Rino actually did have a grand opening for his new shop in the town of Gallarate, which
was attended by thousands of people including Davey Becks and Ronaldinho.
While the jury is out on whether or not Charlie Davies will make the World Cup roster, Oguchi
Onyewu is almost certainly a lock.
Back in October, Onyewu suffered a serious knee injury that looked like it might keep the
hulking central defender out of the World Cup. News this week from Carson, Calif.
