The transfer window is open, and that means the rumors and news items are going to be flying off
the wire with blistering speed for the next month. The Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea rumors are heating
up now that both parties have admitted their undying lust for one another. Anelka, a man of
ambition, wants [.
If at first you don't succeed, pull out the checkbook and try again. That's the situation Chelsea
are in right now, after having their offer for Nicolas Anelka rejected by Bolton. As for what the
offer was, the reports don't say, but I can confirm, without a shadow of a doubt, that whatever
[...]
I'll get today's transfer roundup started by getting your obligatory Berbatov tidbit out of the way
first. Juande Ramos has slapped a 31 million GBP price tag on his prized asset. So, if you want to
get him, you'll have to pay an arm and a leg to get him, or, if you're [...]
Things are incredibly quiet today. Where are the Shocking!Transfers? And what was Amauri's agent
doing while his client was saying he wouldn't move this winter? Apparently Amauri has learned less
than we thought about teasing.
Really, the most interesting stories in the news are two really sketchy ones.
Didier Drogba will leave Chelsea for AC Milan for around £40million. But only once the "Special
One" Jose Mourinho takes the reigns at the Rossoneri. (People) ...Meanwhile the Ginger Mourinho
Gary Megson is trailing Javier Saviola and will attempt to take the Real Madrid striker to Bolton.
(People) Blackburn and Sunderland are both after Chelsea's Steve Sidwell [.
Ronaldinho appears to hit the headlines all over again and as always for the wrong reason. With AC
Milan President Silvio Berlusconi seemingly pulling out of the bid to sign the Brazilian ace in the
summer, Chelsea appear to have hit the button. Goal.com has quoted a report in DairioSport stating
that Super Agent Ernesto Bronzetti [.
Fabio Capello doesn't have much of an experience watching football matches from the stands but now
that he is the national coach of the England football team, he may well get used to it. If his
first experience of watching from the stands in England is anything to go by, then the 61 year old

Quick update about Alexandre Pato's long awaited debut against Napoli this evening for AC
Milan.
He didn't disappoint.
Pato started upfront alongside fellow Brazilian international - and the player he has been so
heavily compared with - Ronaldo.
The 18-year-old's first few touches were crisp and sharp as his teammates looked to pass into his
feet.
AC Milan beat Genoa last night, 2-0 with both goals coming from wonder kid, Pato. The 18 year old
placed a well cushioned header in the back of the net for his first goal and the second was pure
class. Displaying his incredible pace, he left his marker for dead and although the first shot was
[...]
God, it just goes from bad to worse for Milan.
First there was that David Suazo debacle last summer, when they totally signed
a useful goal-scorer, only to have him turn around and join their city rivals for less, just
because he'd said yes to them first. Then, they very nearly signed Theirry
Henry!
Destiny's Child. The Savior. The Messiah. The One. These are just some of the names that 18 year
old Brazilian teen sensation Alexandre Pato have gone by. Whatever you think of him, there can be
no denying that on Sunday, all eyes were on AC Milan and Pato. And the most pressing question that
was on [.
Alexandre Pato is barely 18 years of age but he is already being touted as the Savior of AC Milan
this season. The Brazilian international youth team player was signed by the Italian giants in the
summer for £15.4million from Internacional but couldn't assimilate the player till now since
Italian football regulations bar non-EU players [.
After the World's Top Goalscorer of 2007, the IFFHS (International Federation of Football History &
Statistics) has done the impossible: make yet another controversial ranking, and make some more
thousand-something fans pissed off about it. This time, it's the All-Time Club Rankings. So where's
the catch?
They are both know as the devils, but the mascots at Manchester United and AC Milan might be
separated at birth.
Manchester United's Fred the Red
AC Milan's Milanello
I'm not saying that one used the other as a base, but there look very similar.
Could Clarence Seedorf return to his beloved Ajax, the famous Dutch institution where his
trajectory originates? No, at the moment there appears no chance but as the player himself admits
he could well end his playing career at the club that engendered him more than 10 years ago. Sky
Sports has reported that the 31-year AC [.
Ronaldo scored a brace with Kaka, Seedorf and Pato completing the 5-2 romp agaisnt Napoli, it's
great to see Three-time World Player of the Year Ronaldo on the scoresheet and it was also a great
debut by wonderkid Pato, quite possibly another contender for World Player of the Year in the
future.
Ronaldo's shot deflected up into the air and goalbound off goalkeeper Gennaro Iezzo, and as
defender Andrea Cupi scrambled back to hack the ball off the line, Pato jumped in to try and head
it in from point-blank range.
STARBUCKS FC: No, I'm not talking about the possibility of Seattle's expansion squad being named
after the biggest coffee chain in the country. I am, however, implying that Starbucks is looking
into (and take this with a Daily Mail grain of salt) an EPL club to invest in. Who may that be you
ask? Who [.
What is it about Italy that foreigners love and ruminate even when they have moved across to other
lands? Whatever it may be, Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko makes no mistake in underlining that
he still loves Italy. Goal.com quotes the Ukrainian international telling The Sun: I feel nostalgic
for Italy.
Catania are fighting against relegation in the Italian Serie A this season and are desperate to
hold onto the one huge hope that they have in Peruvian defender Juan Manuel Vargas. Although the
Italian minnows have confirmed that Vargas wouldn't be leaving the side this January, Goal.com
reports that the 23-year old is up for [.
Sky Sports reports that Arsenal full back Emmanuel Eboue is in high demand in Italy. Juventus and
AC Milan both have had come knocking on Arsenal's doors in January but Eboue loves the Emirates.
Eboue told Sky Sports: I didn't want to talk about that. What I can say is that many big clubs
spoke to [.
A New Year brings about new hopes, new wishes, new resolutions. A time to recollect, make new plans
and then try keeping to them. And since it is that time of the year again, I thought it will be
fitting to write a post about my beloved club - AC Milan - and what the [...]
In the most coffee spluttering claim of the day, the Daily Mail reckons that Chelsea will offer
loose talking Didier Drogba to either Barcelona or AC Milan, and in return they wont want cash
(Roman has enough of that stuff to last a lifetime - literally) - no, instead Avram Grant and co
will [...]
Adriano has already gone to Brazil trying to reignite himself and another Brazilian who looks to be
heading back to his native country is Ronaldo. Sky Sports reports that Flamengo are bracing
themselves for an official bid for the player next week and could land up the Brazilian in Brazil
this very month.
He is one of the few footballers who can be labeled as a one-club, one-woman man. Paolo Maldini has
been playing professional football with AC Milan since 1985 (two years before this writer was
born!) and, as Goal.com quotes him, he never had the desire to leave his native Italy or beloved
Milan. Paolo, son of [.
Lucky Kaka to have stepped out of the unlucky 13 mark. So far he had racked up 13 personal awards
for the year 2007 and now he has move one better. The only Croatian daily Sportske Novorsk has
named Kaka are the best player of last year as reported by Goal.com. Not that Kaka doesn't deserve
[...]
Real Madrid watch out! For long, the Spanish giants have been chasing Milan's prized asset Kaka but
it appears that it could boomerang on the Merengues. Goal.com quotes Milan great Paolo Maldini as
saying that he would love to watch Real Madrid's defender Sergio Ramos play for the Rossoneri when
he retires from football at [.
SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON: Calls for David Beckham's 100th cap. And apparently Sven is now after another
Brazilian. This time it is Heereveen's goalscorer Afonso Alves who reported could cost around $30
million. Alves would be a good candidate to replace and improve upon the wantaway Italian Rolando
Bianchi as Alves hit for 35 goals in 321 appearances [.
•Holy crap, Alberto Aquilani made it through a match! Quick, wrap him and
cotton wool and put him away until the weekend.
•As Jeremy reported this morning, Cagliari are doing their level best to convince themselves
(and anyone else who cares) that Pasquale Foggia isn't leaving the club.
Like clockwork, the Karim Benzema To Milan story has come back around, again
thanks to something the kid himself has told the press. Two months ago, Benzema included Milan on a
list of teams that he said, rather romantically, "make him dream." And, this time, the story is a
similar one: Now an old man of 20, Benzema spoke to La Gazzetta yesterday and, during the
interview, made the rather spectacular error of again combining in the words "Milan" and
"dream.
Jose Mourinho is certainly the hottest managerial property in Europe. Well, look-wise the
Portuguese may not cut a Hollywood figure but is decent for his age nevertheless) but football
management-wise he is top draw. Just ask the rumour mill handlers. The former Chelsea boss has been
linked with virtually all the top clubs in Europe.
Ronaldinho is never out of the transfer rumor picture and today too he is hitting the headlines.
Goal.com reports that Inter Milan manager Roberto Mancini has publicly declared that he wants
Ronaldinho in the squad and is confident that the Brazilian ace, struggling with poor form and
apparent injuries, will settle well into his large [.
AC Milan have confirmed that they have officially lodged a bid to sign Gianluca Zambrotta from FC
Barcelona. Although the transfer is unlikely to take pace this month since Barca President Joan
Laporta has affirmed that the Italian would remain at the Camp Nou until the end of the season at
least, Milan are confident [.
Breaking news: Javier Mascherano is set to leave Anfield! The Daily Mail reports that the Argentine
international midfielder is one foot out of the exit door at Liverpool. Mascherano's loan period at
Anfield gets over at the end of the summer and for Liverpool to sign him permanently, they need to
muster up £17 million which [.
Goal.com reports that Jose Mourinho could be on his way to Valencia. The current coach of the
beleaguered Spanish club, Ronald Koeman, is under tremendous pressure after sinking the ship since
he took over way back in November and there is a massive chance that club ppresident Juan Soler
could sack the Dutchman and appoint [.
They may spend most of their time making things up, but it's hard to deny that the people at
Marca have a way with words, even when those words are fed through Google translate.
Today, they're banging on again about Milan's obsession with one Sergio Ramos,
something they seem prepared to do every two months, just to keep things interesting.
By some miracle, Ronaldinho actually made it back from Brazil in time for
Barcelona's first post-break training session (look out for flying pigs), and
Ronaldo and Milan's mass of Brazilians is on his way to Dubai, not shacked up
drunk somewhere with Flamengo and Adriano.
Sportingo.com's Mark Apostolou reviews all the ridiculous transfer rumours and brings you the picks
of the bunch. There are lies, damn lies, and football transfer rumours – but don't shoot the
messenger! I am only reporting the ridiculous stories cooked up by the press and giving my take on
these half-baked ideas, which sometimes, just sometimes, [.
•As Roswitha pointed out in the comments, it's being reported that Inter are preparing to make
Luis Jimenez's move to the club permanent by buying him from Ternana. Given
Jimenez's performances since Mancini was forced to give him a chance this seems pretty much
inevitable, but there's no indication in the press of when it's going to happen; whenever it does,
the price is said to be around €10 million.
In a slightly shocking bit of news, Brazilian and World Footballer of the Year Kaka revealed that
he thought of quitting AC Milan on the eve of their Champions League final showdown against English
Premier League struggler Liverpool last season.
Looking at how this season has unfolded, Kaka could be regretting a little that he did not consider
it further.
As Fiorentina can tell us, there's nothing like an outstanding keeper to help your team survive
the bad days intact. And, even if you can't have a game-saver like Sebastian Frey
behind your team, it's awfully nice to have one who's not a liability, as both Milan and Lazio
ruefully proved during the first half.
