The transfer hasn't even yet been finalized, the ink isn't even on the contract let alone dried,
but already the good folks of the world of Twitter have provided us with a great song, taking the
mick...

Well, that's the message from Roman Abramovich to whoever the new Chelsea manager will be this
summer and next season according to the Mirror. The article states that with no manager or director
of football in place at the club, Roman has fielding interest in Didier Drogba but his preference
is to keep Didier at Chelsea for next season.
Chelsea and Manchester United will engage in an auction for the services of Luka Modric. Not
ITK, just obvious, and something I've mentioned a couple of times since the season finished. He's
one of the top midfielders in Europe and certainly the best outside the top four, with the possible
exception of Gerrard who is welded to his club.
It's seems that with the appointment of Andres Villas-Boas at Chelsea and the continued press and
media coverage that follows there seems to be two important points that have pretty much gone
un-noticed as far as I am concerned. A battle that looks like being won already by AVB that formed
part and parcel of his negotiations with Chelsea.

Roman Abramovich has stunned the football world once again as he did over 8 years ago tonight and
has made his and Chelsea's intentions clear. There were those of us that called into question his
commitment to the Chelsea cause at some stages of this season and I am happy to admit that I was
one of them.
Frank Lampard reckons the Champions League should be Chelsea's number one aspiration for this
season. The England midfielder knows Chelsea are seemingly out of the Premier League title race
after some poor form that has seen them drop to fifth and sit 12 points behind leaders Manchester
United. Anyone looking to bet on Champions League [.
Look there are going to be all sorts of stories about us and the game Tuesday night but a story
that is doing the rounds about Abramovich being fed up with Fernando Torres is ridiculous!!
Torres has come to Chelsea to help win the Champions League but also as part of our future so all
this rubbish in the press stating that we may sell him is the press once more doing their best to
de-stabilise Chelsea ahead of the game.

The Sun in the early hours this morning is reporting that Roman Abramovich wants more "thrilling
and sexy football" and intends to bankroll another £80m this summer to bring in players to three
areas that have been identified that need bolstering. The three positions are:
- A creative midfielder
- A flying winger
- A solid right back.
In the football world there is a trend to view shareholders and directors of a club as
custodians rather than owners. Fans are considered to be the heart and soul of a football club and
it's real owners. In the past the Arsenal directors/shareholders have released statements
recognizing their role as caretakers.
Ray Wilkins is featured in The Sun this morning talking of the relationship between him and
Chelsea, the club he captained as a teenager and was employed as an assistant twice and has reveal
that's it as far as he is concerned with the club.
He said:
"My time is done with Chelsea.
Huge disappointment this morning as Robin van Persie has 'clarified' the comments he made about
Chelsea and Spain.
Crossing his fingers and trying not to break his hole laughing, he said:
I respect my colleagues of Spain and Chelsea and look forward to playing against them for many
years to come.
It appears that Guus Hiddink is now "on holiday" and according to his agent:
"I can say absolutely that he will still be in charge of Turkey in September for the
next matches, against Kazakhstan and Austria. This is what we say, this is the
position."
(Source)
I have to say if that is the case then I cannot see Hiddink coming here as Manager.
After my last post on here and the fact that Guus Hiddink's agent has said he will still be in
charge of Turkey for their two Euro 2012 qualifying games in September, I just wonder now if Roman
Abramovich will turn to Mark Hughes or Rafa Benitez?.
I mentioned about Hughes on here the other day and being an ex-Chelsea player and fan favourite, I
wonder if that will hold any sway with the board.
I was reading this article by Jason Burt in The Telegraph and it really got me thinking. The
article talks about the deal for Romelu Lukaku and others but moves onto to discuss the situation
regarding the new manager at the club.
It's believed that Guus Hiddink is he preferred choice to come back to the club, but Abramovich is
keeping two other options open to him in Jose Mourinho and Mark Hughes BUT, with a different
strategy altogether as far as a contract offer goes.

Bookies have slashed the odds on Andre Villas-Boas becoming the new Chelsea manager over the
weekend and this morning from 8/1 - 11/10 and have reportedly suspended the betting!.
After weeks of speculation about who the main man was going to be at Chelsea, it seems there could
be two arriving at Stamford Bridge with Guus Hiddink coming in as Director of Football and Andre
Villas-Boas as the new First Team Coach.
For Fernando Torres, it will be a long way back to media approval. His move to Chelsea, for a
record £50m, will lead to him always being highly scrutinised and criticised for each game where
he doesn't score.
His performance against Manchester United, which included a fine goal, a number of feats of
fleeting footwork and concluded a great week for him, which included two assists against Bayer
Leverkusen on Wednesday, will be remembered for one other incident.

Bruce Buck gives poor old John Terry a big hug
According to the Guardian, Blues bigwig Bruce Buck, in speaking about the club's failure in
their bid to buy back the freehold of Stamford Bridge, went slightly off script in relation to the
weekend's big London derby.
I think we all agree that the Chelsea job isn't exactly a bed of roses based on the levels of
expectation put on you as manager. You would imagine that only the most confident, determined and
focused managers would even entertain the idea of taking the hot seat here and a task of taking the
club out of the shadows of the Jose Mourinho era at the club.
That was the question asked on our Chelsea web site yesterday. Are Chelsea too broke to fire
Ancelotti? This is what the article said. Do you agree or disagree?
Everything Chelsea does these days seems to revolve around saving money and I wonder if the
reason that Carlo Ancelotti is still the Chelsea manager is because the club does not have the
£10m it would take to fire him?
There is this report in the Sunday People this morning that Roman Abramovich will offer Avram Grant
a return to Chelsea as Director of Football if he is sacked by West Ham.
Key points of the article state:
Israeli Grant fell out with Abramovich when he was sacked just days after Chelsea's
penalty shoot-out heartbreak in Moscow but the pair quickly patched up their differences and could
work together again.
Rumours are rife that Andriy Shevchenko could make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge as part
of the coaching staff or backroom team as Roman Abramovich continues to shake things up to freshen
things up at the club.
Sheva has strong links with both Abramovich and Carlo Ancelotti and is seen as an ideal person to
bring into the club.
Now it may be complete rubbish and just word of mouth that has turned into Chinese Whispers, but
there is a rumour that is going around that Roman Abramovich will cut his ties with Chelsea and
sell up at the end of the season and look to re-invest his money in Zenit St Petersburg in
Russia.
Well all know and have seen Roman's commitment and joy at Russia being awarded the World Cup, and
it would make sense for him to look to be far more involved there but I just wonder if this really
is the case and he will sell.
Carlo has spoken of Roman Abramovich and the fact that he isn't happy with Chelsea's run of form,
but still has his total support. He said:
"I spoke with Roman. He is not happy. He knows the difficulty of the results and has
asked us to look forward and try to beat Blackburn. I spoke with him over the phone.
This article in the Star this morning quoted a "source" close to the player himself more or less
confirms what we all have been thinking about Chelsea's transfer policy as it stands these days.
Carlo doesn't really have a say.
This so called "source" is quoted as saying:
When Steven met Ancelotti he said very little and did not seem that bothered if he
signed or not.
Ladies, gentlemen, those not of this realm,
I'd like to take this time to make an introduction, a most triumphant one. No, unfortunately
he's not from San Dimas. He does, however, hail from California the City of Angels, in fact.
Jack. Devin.
This fine man has been following The CO on the hush for a while.
I nearly actually spluttered my cornflakes all over the screen this morning when I can across the
most ridiculous Arsenal rumour ever invented. Of course it's from the News of the World... The
story goes that Andrei Arshavin is very unhappy at Arsenal, and his form has dropped even further
since he has been relegated to [.
As reported here last night we all became immediately aware of Chelsea's second attempt to sign
Fernando Torres. A reported bid (although at the time of writing this article not confirmed by
Chelsea) of around £40m has been turned down by Liverpool.
As you will imagine the press, media sites and blog sites (including mine of course) were quick to
cover the story and have their own individual take on things, but there is one article tonight that
appears here in the Telegraph that has got me thinking as they state that our new bid for the
Spaniard is an "Act of desperation!

We all have had our opinions on Carlo Ancelotti at some stage of the season and I have aired my
view on here. I have also aired my view on what looked like the club's transfer policies and you
the Chelsea fans have also argued your point of view as it looked like Carlo's hands were tied.
One thing is for sure, the actions of Roman Abramovich and the club has signalled their intent for
this season and beyond but most importantly of all, is a sign for Carlo Ancelotti that they are
prepared to back him to the hilt and stand by the man we all have grown to love.
The Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov has knocked Roman Abramovich out of the Top Three in the
list of Russia's richest people. Abramovich has never been below third before, and although he
raised the value of his assets to £10.6 billion he slipped down to seventh. Usmanov has
leapfrogged into the number three position him with [.
A man in a difficult position, Carlo Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti was a made man. He sat at the top of the Premier League having seen his side score
more than 100 goals in a season – the first time since the great Spurs side of the 60's –, a
£9 million contract in the bag, and the promise of a serious assault on the Champions League in
the 2010/11 season.
Tonight this story has caught my attention. Apparently Roman Abramovich and Carlo Ancelotti have
"agreed" to part company in the summer!. The replacement at Chelsea will be one of two Dutchmen,
Marco Van Basten or Frank Rijkaard.
First of all I think it's rubbish. Secondly, Carlo Ancelotti has already gone on record the other
week that he has and will never quit or walk away from a club he is the manager of and finally, the
players are right behind him.
It's being reported today following Frank Arnesen's decision to leave Chelsea at the end of the
season, that head of Senior Scouting, Lee Congerton has been placed on gardening leave at the club
after he has agreed to join Arnesen in Hamburg as Technical Director.
Abramovich is reported to have told Congerton not to come back to Chelsea and has been placed on
gardening leave which to me seems like a good move as Chelsea plan for the summer.

I'm a very big fan of the Guardian's football section, mainly because they offer excellent insight
into soccer/football from around all of Europe. Of course, being an English newspaper they tend to
focus a bit more regarding English clubs. Here's a short video of Kevin McCarra, the Guardian's
chief football writer talking about the UEFA Champions League quarter-final draw along with
Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Jose Mourinho.
Petr Cech is featured in The Sun today speaking of a couple of things but has been quick to point
out to everyone that Roman Abramovich is as committed to Chelsea now as he has ever been which is
great to hear. We all know that there was a spell recently when we never saw Roman at the games as
he was "away" which sparked all sorts of rumours about him selling up etc etc.
