We're prepared to admit we occasionally (and by ‘occasionally, we mean ‘every week') tend to
waffle more about the EPL than other European leagues in the Weekend Results post. We don't mean
to, but it's like opening a bottle of fine wine, y'see.

Seldom have I seen a football player like Abou Diaby. On the one hand he oozes class and
potential, a beautiful athlete: a modern day gladiator. On the other hand he seems to struggle
badly at times with being able to focus on the field, and achieving consistency in his
performance.
Arsène Wenger appeals for calm after Liverpool defeat | Paul Hayward
The Arsenal manager needs to dispel the mounting sense that the club are in for the toughest
season of his reign Appealing for calm, Arsène Wenger said: "We live in circumstances where every
defeat is absolutely a disgrace – an earthquake.

Arsene Wenger finally chose his first choice custodian for the club and it's not surprise that a
Polish national is the incumbent. The only surprise is that it is not Lukasz Fabianski but Wojciech
Szczesny. It is a really big statement for the manager to make.
Dare to speak up
Jack Wilshere has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the aftermath of the Arsenal-Newcastle game
on Saturday. If you do not know yet, Wilshere tweeted after the game about how the referee was not
consistent in his actions during the game. Pointing particularly to the incident in which Kevin
Nolan grabbed the neck of Wojciech Szczesny but received no card whereas Abou Diaby saw red when he
did the same to Joey Barton.
We love you Robin.. We really do!
And then there were two. It looks like Arsenal and Manchester United will fight it out for the
Premier League crown after a pivotal day in the title race.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side beat third-place Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime to pour pressure
on Arsène Wenger's outfit before they faced Wolves at Emirates Stadium.
After our loss at Manchester United, I found myself harbouring murderous thoughts towards Abou
Diaby.
He was our worst player by quite a stretch (despite stiff competition from Gibbs and, later,
Rosicky).
Every time the ball went to him he either killed the momentum of an Arsenal attack or lost the
ball.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes Theo Walcott, Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song and Abou Diaby could
all be back for the home game against Blackburn, on April 2. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the

Yes, that's right: a quiet beach a million miles away from the hurly burly of Premiership
football and the unforgiving scrutiny of the media.
A blue sky, a blazing sun and a long, golden beach as empty as Abou Diaby's head.
Obviously Arsene shouldn't go there right now that would be rude.
North London Diaby Abou Diaby has risked putting himself in the bad books of the Arsenal faithful
by freely confessing to knocking around the house in a Spurs shirt. The 25-year-old said he
received the shirt as a gift from friend and Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul, and regularly wore
it in the comfort of his [.
I had an interesting interaction with a reporter/writer that I was not familiar with until
yesterday. His name is Tom Williams and he can be found on Twitter at @Tomwfootball). His original
Tweeted premise, on the occasion of Patrick Vieira's retirement as an active player, was spot on.
There is an entire generation of lanky midfielders - mostly French or French-speaking West African

Often compared to former Arsene captain Patrick Vieira, midfielder Abou Diaby believes there's
still a long way to go to reach the level of his compatriot but once there, he would hopefully go
on and ...
Nothing repeat nothing in football would make me happier than for Arsenal to win the title this
season, if one could add the relegation of a Mick McCarthy team life would be even more rosy. Add
in the relegation of a Pulis team and my cup would runneth over (is that a naughty
expression?)
Like millions of Gooners I was down-hearted at 5 p.
In looking at the Manchester United 2-0 defeat of Arsenal in the FA Cup quarterfinals, there were a
number of heroes for United on the day - Edwin van der Sar stood on his head in goal; Nemanja Vidic
and Chris Smalling were a presence in United's backline; Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez were
constant pests to Arsenal's backline.

Many of us had hopes that we were going to do some significant house cleaning this summer, with a
number of players leaving, as well as many coming in. I think it's safe to say at this point, we're
not headed for a very big turnover. The fact that we're likely to hang on to a lot of the so-called
"dead weight" on the team has been driven home to me in a number of ways this week.
Tomorrow is the first day of the traditional Emirates Cup, a two-day pre-season tournament held
in London, featuring Arsenal and three fairly big sides. This year we'll play Boca Juniors and
Thierry Henry's Red Bull New York; Paris St. Germain will also take part.

Match Preview: Arsenal vs Liverpool
Liverpool will travel to the Emirates tomorrow in an attempt to rub salt into the Gunners'
wounds. Arsenal will be without several of their first team regulars, most notably Cesc Fabregas
and Samir Nasri who went in search of greener pastures, which makes this the perfect time to play
the London outfit as the club goes through a stage of sheer turmoil.
Limbering up for the next challenge
Normally that would mean that the team is flying. Not necessarily in a physical form but in
terms of form, confidence and results. A good continuous run of positive results would probably
equate to a team in flying condition. In this instance, I'm referring "full flight" to the numbers
and quantity.
The injury-curse blighting Arsenal's season struck again on Monday when goalkeeper Wojciech
Szczesny pulled out of the Poland squad for two upcoming friendlies against South Korea and
Belarus with a bad back.
Szczesny, 21, who has played six time for Poland, was due to meet up with his international team
mates this week but the official Polish FA website (www.
There was something poignant about the moment, mid way through the second half, when Arsène
Wenger made his first two substitutions.
Gervinho and Abou Diaby were bouncing on the touchline: primed, eager and ready while the fourth
official fiddled with his number board.
Three yards away from them, on the pitch, a small Russian man was standing on his own, looking
downcast and waiting for the inevitable appearance of the number 23 on the official's board.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed that midfielder Abou Diaby is again injured and will be out

The Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby was hailed as the "new Patrick Vieira" when he arrived at Arsenal
five years ago, but he immediately broke an ankle which it would appear has never fully healed. He

than Frank [.

Afternoon all, another dull, grey and cold one.
The news coming out of the club regarding the injury to Thomas Vermaelen isn't good at all, nor
is the news that Sebastian Squillaci will be back so soon has been ruled out for at least two weeks
with a grade one pull of the hamstring. I joke, of course.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirmed on Monday that midfielder Abou Diaby will be the first one
to make his comeback from injury. Speaking to Arsenal TV Online, the Frenchman confessed he is

Nike announced its partnership with the French Football Federation today at the Espace Cambon,

Morning all,
busy day today, and it's Friday, and it's the end of the so-called working week and it's the end
of so-called January (mostly) which means that the month on the dry is over. I'm a little scared to
be honest. What if beer has found somebody else? Rum might have the hump with me? Oh bourbon, I
didn't mean to hurt you, cups of tea are no match for your special warmth.

We're going to Wembley, again!
After the heroics of Tuesday night where Arsenal reached Wembley in the Carling Cup final, the
Gunners' focus on Saturday will be on trying to reach Wembley once again in the FA Cup, where they
face Huddersfield at the Emirates in the Fourth Round.
Big Nick had another good game
We like to make things difficult for ourselves, don't we? Huddersfield came to town with the
intention to try and stifle us by working that little bit harder and perhaps with a much bigger
desire than Arsenal. Yes, we did triumph at the end but that is down more to our higher quality
than our performance.
Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is finally back and after recovering from yet another injury, he is
ready to play his part as the Gunners enter the last months of the season. Speaking to the Official
Matchday ...
We need the good Diaby tonight
Arsenal visits Newcastle today with revenge on our minds. I'm sure we could all remember the 1-0
reverse at the Grove earlier in the season. That defeat came in the middle of a good run of results
for us. We are on a similar good run of games now, undefeated in 7 league games with 5
victories.
On an exciting day of Premier League action, perhaps the most one-sided game has been the
fixture between Newcastle United and Arsenal. With the Gunners leading 4-0 at the end of the first
half, little was expected from the hosts at St. James' Park following the interval.
However, the second period has already began on a positive note for the Magpies.
As if the failure of winning a game they were leading by four goals was not enough, Arsenal also
have to suffer a three-game ban for midfielder Abou Diaby and fresh injuries worries in the ...
For the Gunners, a tale of two halves. Or more to the point, a tale of two Arsenals. Unstoppable
in the first and scoring at will to take a four to nothing lead. The game signed and sealed.
Walcott after 47 seconds, Van Persie with two goals, and Johan Djourou with his maiden goal. Or so
anyone sane would think.
The one that changed the game
If the midweek win against Everton can be one of the season defining ones then likewise, this
match at St James Park is another one of those games. For this is where we let slip an unassailable
lead to only gather a point. I say that because Arsenal has just became the first team ever in the
Premier League history to not win after going 4 up.
Hmmmm where to start with this one? Do I focus on the first half; do I focus on the embarrassing
Phil Dowd or do I focus on the much maligned Diaby?
Well, the title works anyway, the first forty five minutes were not just good they were great
and certainly the best we have seen since Blackpool at the beginning of the season.
