Feb 23rd 2008 - Eduardo has his left fibula fractured and sustains an open dislocation of his ankle joint after Martin Taylor's tackle.

Feb 27th 2010 - Aaron Ramsey has his fibia and tibia broken, his leg left hanging in the air, by Ryan Shawcross.

Whilst still marvelling at the eloquence of yesterday's post by charybdis1966, I have to disagree with what I think is its central theme, namely that Chelski and Man IOU sit back in the belief that we can't really hurt them.

The game on Sunday kicked off in a very end to end fashion, with both teams attacking with abandon.

Firstly, a disclaimer: I know modern Premier League teams have big squads which they rotate, and I know there's quite a difference between the team you pick for a home match and an away match. Just so we're clear on that.

I've been a fan of the Bleus since 1998, ever since the team's infamous World Cup win in Paris – I became a passionate fan of the Bleus after their infamous first round exit in the 2002 World Cup.

All the talk surrounding this match involved the return of Alexander Hleb (CM) to The Emirates Stadium, the rumored return to fitness of Theo Walcott (RW) and the non-rumored return of Nickolas Bendtner (S) for The Gunners.

This summer sees South Africa host the most prestigious footballing trophy there is: The World Cup. The competition hosts the most talented footballers in the world with the likes of Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo (although we hate to admit it!) and Kaka all playing for their respective countries.

Before the start of the season Arsene Wenger insists his squad is talented, hungry and ready. During the season Arsene Wenger declares the players are now mature enough to maintain the title challenge until the end. Towards the end of the season Arsene Wenger laments his squads inability to finish off teams, grind out results and failure to display their maturity.

The World Cup in 2010 will go down in history for a few things. Vuvuzela's, The first World Cup in Africa, England's abysmal showing, Germany's bright future, Netherlands awful tactics and the Spanish proving they are the best side in the world. Yet one other event for me outshone them all.

The midfielder has been out since injuring his ankle against Bolton a fortnight ago and will have a fitness test on Friday. Tomas Rosicky (ankle) and Emmanuel Eboue (knee) also face examinations.

Arsene Wenger is a man of many talents but modesty is not among them judging from his most recent outburst. In the aftermath of the announcement that Arsenal had made a record profit in the last financial year Wenger took time out to draw attention to his record for developing young players.

Just a quick update today, and it looks like we may well have a fully fit squad shortly after the conclusion of the international break.

Theo Walcott, Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Vermaelen, Almunia, Nicklas Bendtner and Abou Diaby are all expected to be 100% fit after the international break, giving us a nice boost to hopefully kick-start another run at Chelsea after we slipped even further behind on Sunday afternoon.

The 30-man preliminary rosters from each national team federation were due to FIFA today. While rosters still have to be pared down from 30 to 23 before the tournament itself starts, that will almost certainly be done from the 30 men on each preliminary roster, so if you're not on one of those rosters, it's pretty safe to say you're not going to the World Cup.

Young 21 years old Carlos Vela has sent a message to his home country Mexico today, as he converted calmly and with great composure a lovely Cesc Fabregas delivery to make it 4:1 for the Gunners against the Trotters.

The Mexican has received really bad treating by his fellow natives as well as the Mexican press in the last week , especially the latter ones have produced stories which are really far from reality.
