All you need to know about the last time these two teams met at Anfield.
This time, however, the circumstances surrounding the fixture are a bit different.
After what turned out to be quite a day for the Premier League table, Arsenal are poised to
signal their title intent. Chelsea, United, Tottenham, and City all dropped points, and tomorrow
presents Arsenal with the chance to start to distance themselves from the rest of the fourth
through eighth-place jumble.
The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already voiced his displeasure at his players playing
meaningless friendlies for their countries, especially after the recent problems with Robin Van
Persie and Abou Diaby, and now it looks like he will be heading for another showdown with
Catalonia. Cesc Fabregas has been named in a Catalonia team to play [.
Yes, Arsenal had beat Aston Villa 3-0. An impressive scoreline which had largely been down to Cesc
Febregas individual brilliance.Contrary to how Wenger feels (or an optimistic Gunner fan feels) ,

Hello all, and welcome to the not unsurprising news that our spiritual leader has succumbed to
the lure of Barcelona. Not entirely surprising, given his previous with the city. It was only a
matter of time before he answered the call. I expect his Friday night will be spent chatting to the
Barcelona players in their favourite restaurant come nightclub, CDLC.
Time to shine. Better late than never
Today is a very different and special day. While we don't normally fret ourselves over the visit
of the likes of Stoke but today isin't any normal day. Today is the day we came off 2 consecutive
league defeats and also the end of our 100% winning record at Ashburton Grove.
Arsenal's injured duo of Eduardo da Silva and Abou Diaby are likely to return for Sunday's Premier
League match against Liverpool, according to Arsene Wenger.
Think back to October when Liverpool deservedly beat Manchester United. Think back to the
circumstances leading up to that game.
Rafael Benítez's side had just lost four on the trot, including the beach ball game at Sunderland
and a home defeat to Lyon, which left their Champions League chances hanging by a thread.
A repeat of this please
The last time we won at Anfield in the Premier League was when Arsenal embarked on the greatest
achievement in recent history of world football. It was the season which Arsenal were the
Invincibles. The match saw the mercurial Robert Pires curled home the winner from just
outside the penalty box.
If you ever wonder why Arsene Wenger persist with playing Abou Diaby, this match would be a
wonderful example of why the boss has immaculate faith in his French ally. If Diaby consistently
plays like he did in today's game, there will be no more doubters of his capabilities anymore.
Played in his favoured midfield [.
Arsenal remained third in the Premier League with a 3-0 victory over Hull City at the Emirates
Stadium here on Saturday. Goals from Denilson, Eduardo and Abou Diaby allowed Arsene Wenger's side
to move within two points of second-placed reigning champions Manchester United. The Londoners, who
also have a game in hand, were helped, however, by a [.

A 3 nil win over Hull City took Arsenal back to the 3rd spot. The first goal came off a sublime
free kick from Denilson. The second was a wonderful goal from Eduardo which came at the end of
series of brilliant short passes that Arsenal are so good at and which generally break down just
before scoring.
While I haven't blogged, we've beaten Liverpool 2-1, drawn 1-1 with Burnley and then beat Hull 3-0
yesterday afternoon.
Lets be honest: Liverpool away is always a difficult game. Pre-match, the papers were full of how
Liverpool had only lost 1 out of 37 home games in the League; post-match, having beaten them, the
media were full of how Liverpool were on a downward slope.
I have been through a number of blogs and reports on the Hull City match and the range of
opinion has been fascinating. For me, I think this is a quality result and, despite dropping two
points at Burnley in mid-week, I think we come out of the past eight days in good shape. If the
table held today and we won our game-in-hand, we would be in second place ahead of United on goal
differential.
The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger thinks his team will be stronger now that he has Denilson and Abou
Diaby back from injury, and praised the teams bouncebackability after losing badly to Chelsea.
"Diaby was out for a while, Denilson was out for a while too so we were a bit shorter physically in
midfield but now [.

Arsenal made a statement on Sunday afternoon. This club just will not fade away or go crawl
under a rock like many expected after the disappointing home defeat to Chelsea. They refused to
believe that the 2009-10 Premier League season had become a two-horse race, if it already wasn't
before.
The Arsenal FC midfielder Abou Diaby was slated by all and sundry in the early part of this season,
but the Arsenal fans are now starting to warm to him after a couple of brilliant performances over
Christmas, and the Frenchman believes that is now "blossoming" after a difficult start to his
career at Arsenal.
The Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger is not too worried about losing his captain Cesc Fabregas for a few
weeks at the moment, as he has confidence that Abou Diaby can fulfill the attacking midfielder role
normally held by Fabregas. Wenger kept faith with Diaby earlier on in the season, when he was
getting severe criticism from [.
Hello hello, lots to be getting on with this morning so no hanging about.
Starting with team news and there's some good news, possibly, and some unexpected and rather bad
news. Tomas Rosicky may well be back for tonight's game against Portsmouth, which is good, although
he may not make his comeback until the West Ham game on Sunday.
