Charlize Theron continues to embarrass herself, Ireland and FIFA throughout the World Cup Draw
(alright, maybe FIFA doesn't need help in that department). Her longtime partner, Stuart Townsend,
is Irish..but is that really an excuse for her complete lack of professionalism?
- Interesting article from ESPN on the reactions to the French WC Qualification.
The final step of Barca's qualification to the Champions League last sixteen has them up against
Dynamo Kiev, with a simple draw being sufficient to ensure that the Blaugrana go on to the next
round. And we're more than certain that the boys will come off with an even score at the very
least!
Pep comes into this match with a nineteen man squad that includes Chygrynskiy even though he's not
allowed to participate in Cl matches with Barca this season; it seems he's along to celebrate with
the boys upon their qualification.

FC Barcelona will be looking to preserve their five point advantage against Real Madrid by the end
of this week. Even though Real has a match on hand the five point lead could assert enormous
pressure on them. Gerrard Pique and Busquets has been included in the squad after their last match
absence.
If FC Barcelona manage tp avoid a defeat by two goals or more against Dynamo Kiev, they will
qualify for the knockout stage of this year's Champions league. With the victory against Inter,
Barca leads the group by two points. But that will count for nothing if they lose at Kiev by two
goals or more.
- First and foremost: congrats to Leo Messi for officially recieving his well-deserved Ballon D'or,
and looking hot doing it! More pictures at the bottom.
- Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is dreaming of signing Bojan come the winter transfer period. And
he'll continue to do just that: dream. In more agreeable transfer reports, the club is said to be
after David Silva.
FC Barcelona topped Group F after a 2-1 comeback victory against Dynamo Kiev. Barca went down a
goal down in the 2nd minute of play but goals from Xavi and Messi saw Barca registering a well
deserved victory at Kiev. Inter meanwhile beat Rubin Kazan 2-0 at San Siro and qualified along with
Barca for the knowckout stage.
The score line may have read one zip to the home side, but this was one game where even though
we ended up second best, I still ended up with a broad smile on my face at 5 in the morning. (And
no it was not because Liverpool lost AGAIN. At least not just because of that). An inconsequential
game in a tournament of great consequence against an opponent who had everything to play for with
us already having won the group in some style; perfect setting for a Wenger Experiment.
FC Barcelona would eying to capture their sixth trophy in a near perfect season. This is one
Championship which Barca hasn't won in its history. On the previous occassion we have lost in the
final - In 1992 when the cup was called Intercontinental Cup, Sao Paulo beat us 2-1 and in 2006 we
were done in by another Brazilian club, Internacional.
FC Barcelona booked their place in the finals of 2009 World Club Cup by beating CONCAAF Champions
Atlante 3-1. Barca went down a goal down as early in the fifth minute but strikes from busquest,
Messi and Pedro helped Barca to a more than comfortable win. We will now meet South American
Champions Estudiantes in the final.
FC Barcelona won the 2009 World Club Cup by defeating South American Champions, Estudiantes by two
goals to one. Estudiantes went ahead in the first half through Bosselli's goal, Barca left it late
to grab an equaliser. Actually the equaliser came in the 88th minute from Pedro's header and Lionel
Messi scored a rather beautiful goal with his chest in the second half of second half, to gift
Barca their first triump at World stage.
