While we all wait eagerly to see who else will be added to Arsenal's squad this summer, it's
worth pointing out that the two most important signings have already been made.
Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere were signed to long term contracts in June and November last year
respectively.
Given the near certainty that we will start the new season without either or both of Cesc
Fabregas and Samir Nasri, it is tempting to feel downhearted.

Arsène won't replace Gael Clichy. He believes he has a ready-made replacement in Gibbs. Similar
to the transfer of Cashley in 2006, Arsène thinks he has a player-in-waiting.
I like Kieran Gibbs. I like his desire to get forward and his determination.
One of Arsenal's most promising youngsters, midfielder Aaron Ramsey is finally back, fully
recovered from the horrible injury suffered at Stoke and ready to take full advantage of his second
loan spell this season. Loaned out ...
After working relentlessly to create changes for his teammates throughout the night, Arsenal's
deadline day signing Mikel Arteta was understandably very much a part of Aaron Ramsey's dramatic
celebration as the Gunners left it late to win 1-0 away to Marseille.
The result guided Arsene Wenger's men to the top of Group F with seven points but Arteta is not
getting carried away, citing a strange feeling about the remainder of the Group Stage fixtures.
Wales captain and Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has joined compatriot Gareth Bale in posing in
the new Team Great Britain adidas London Olympics 2012 commemorative soccer jersey. Along with
Bale, Ramsey has indicated that he would be open to being part of the first Great Britain football
team since 1971.
Work rate to go with the acrobatics?
FA Cup returns to the menu as Arsenal kick off their campaign against Leeds United. The
opposition may only be a Championship team but their history means that we have to treat this match
seriously. Since their glory days of getting in the Champions League semifinal, Leeds have plummet
down the ranks of English football.
We do get many hilarious comments from footballers the world over ranging from funny to sheer
deluded. Still, if it features on In The Stands' BS of the Day, rest assured it is latter. The BS
of Day comes from Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey who caused many eyebrows to raise with his
comments suggesting that [.

A lot of people have got it in for Aaron Ramsey right now.
Following our victory over Bolton I read several comments on AA and elsewhere to the effect that
our young Welshie had a bad game and should be dropped to the stiffs.
Before the match someone even said he was turning into the new Denilson – always passing
backwards and sideways as if, having grown up in a rugby-loving country, he was unaware that, with
a round ball, you're allowed to pass forwards.

Since April 10th we have lost 5 and drawn 3 games away from home, a dismal and painful run of
games that has seen our defence and confidence take knock after knock.
The abject display in August at Old Trafford saw a very humbling score line result in cries for
Wenger to walk now, before we fell apart at the seams was the cry of the naysayer's.
It's getting a bit boring and quiet around here during international break. That must be why I
started a giant argument on twitter yesterday. Checking the twitter timeline from last night, I
also see that Martin has safely landed in Las Vegas for a few days of debauchery completely
unrelated to the Arsenal.

Not an ex commando out for revenge going mano-a-mano with a chirpy painter and decorator from
south London, nor is he taking on a resurrected white gloved moonwalker.
It is instead a reason to watch an International involving England for the first time in as long
as I can remember.
Here's a quick round-up of yesterday's international matches, featuring 2 Gunner captains:
*All matches below were part of UEFA Euro 2012 Qualifying
Hungary 0 Netherlands 4: Pretty routine win for the Oranje. RvP played a full
90 minutes and got himself a goal and an assist on Kuyt's goal.
Morning all, bank holiday festitivies over (until next month), 3 day weeks a thing of the past,
back to the grind this morning. Feels good, eh?
Two players who represent the most promising side of our future on the agenda this morning,
starting with Aaron Ramsey who spoke about his goal against United:
Scoring the goal was a special moment for me.
Right then. A quick Saturday round-up for you.
The team news ahead of tomorrow's game is that Cesc, Nasri and Diaby are all out, which means
Aaron Ramsey will continue. We all know what that means but the manager was playing with a straight
bat at yesterday's press conference. The annoying Scottish bloke from Sky was trying, and I mean
really trying, to stir things up because of what happened last season.
Arsenal played a team of Malaysia's best today on their pre-season tour in SE Asia, and
predictably won in convincing fashion, 4-0.
The match was streamed for free on arsenal.com, so look at the schedule for coming games. Our
next match is this Saturday in China.
I didn't catch the first half, so instead of a match report and player rating I'm going to go
over our four goals and some other chances we had.
Very late with this I know but my couch has missed me these past week and I can't go on ignoring
it any more. After 2 days of following them everywhere, my body failed me on this final day. Only
time I got out of the house was to go to the stadium to attend the long awaited friendly match.
I know the staple matchday food and beverage for those going to Ashburton Grove involves plenty
of alcohol but here in Malaysia, that is not our culture.
Right then,
yesterday we had an actual new signing, yesterday we had, in Arsene's words, news about a player
who becomes "almost like a new signing". ALANS. Isn't that ironic?
Ryo Miyachi was granted a work permit under the 'exceptional talent' clause yesterday, causing
much happiness for the manager as he gets to add to his collection of young, but exceptionally
speedy, wide forwards.
You know, I don't hate this team... yet. I'm looking to move my premium pick from Nani to Robin van
Persie but I'm afraid that's too many eggs in the Arsenal basket. They have most players away for
internationals today, then at Newcastle a the weekend with a tough but oh so vital Champions League
qualification match against Udinese on Tuesday.
Limbering up for the next challenge
Normally that would mean that the team is flying. Not necessarily in a physical form but in
terms of form, confidence and results. A good continuous run of positive results would probably
equate to a team in flying condition. In this instance, I'm referring "full flight" to the numbers
and quantity.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has warned Olympiakos that breaking the Gunners' long-standing
unbeaten streak at home will be an uphill task for the Greek giants.
Arsene Wenger has led the Gunners through a brilliant spell during which they have gone
undefeated at home during the Group Stage since 2003 and Ramsey believes that the squad can take
tremendous confidence from playing at the Emirates.
Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey believes the Gunners are still in time to turn things around in the
English Premier League. Speaking to Sky Sports News, the Wales International explained that the

Who wants to give me a helping hand?
Arsenal heads to the south of France to continue our Champions League adventure. This is the
first of 2 back-to-back matches against Marseille. Stade Velodrome will provide the backdrop for
this encounter and this is the same pitch where Dennis Bergkamp scored that immaculate goal for
Holland against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup.
Aaron Ramsey came off the bench to strike an injury-time winner that guided Arsenal to a famous
1-0 victory over Olympique Marseille at Stade Velodrome.
Earlier in the match, a blatant handball from Marseille's Souleymane Diawara went unnoticed as
the Gunners were denied an easy penalty decision.
Aaron Ramsey struck two minutes into added time to give Arsenal an important 1-0 win at
Marseille's Stade Velodrome that puts them in control of Champions League Group F.
After a largely dispiriting 90 minutes in which both sides struggled to create clear-cut
chances, substitute Ramsey controlled an accidental flick-on from Gervinho and placed his shot
low past Steve Mandanda to give Arsene Wenger's side a fifth win in six games in all
competitions.

Capturing the best performers
It probably wasn't easy for the players. Some team lives on the high of the magnificent victory
from the previous game and goes on a rampage in the next few weeks/games. Some teams clings on to
that magnificent victory and thought they didn't have to do much to win the following games.
Yes boss, I can run more now
Premier League returns again. West Brom are the opponents for today and it will be the last one
before yet another international break. The last break was something that we looked forward too,
having only just lost in the local derby. This time however, the break couldn't come at a more
inopportune time.
After getting the offer of some tickets late Friday, I went to the Emirates expecting a win,
confidence in the team is getting stronger, especially with WBA not quite been the attacking enigma
that they were last season when we managed to lose 2-3.
Robin "Assists from the lads were Insane"
Pre-match, Robin "One Man Team" Van Persie received his awards for a spectacular October, which
was capped off in devastating fashion at the Bridge as Arsenal swept Chelsea aside.
RvP numbers shows he might crash
With the weekend's Premiership action ended, things at the top of the table remains almost
status quo. Along with us; Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle all achieved
similar 1-1 draws. The only benefactors in that section of the table are Chelsea and Tottenham who
both won their respective fixtures.
Morning all. Back at work? Long Christmas break over? Boss giving you a hard time already? Wish
I could help. Have you thought about smashing him on the top of the head with a mallet? A bit of
personal satisfaction plus the classic comedy you can only get by smashing someone on the top of
the head with a mallet.
No Toure, your team is shite
That should really be the headline of the day. The Welsh midfielder will be named for the first
time in almost 1 year (11 months to be correct) in an Arsenal official competitive match day squad.
He had just returned from a loan stint with Nottingham Forest in the Championship.
Right so, FA Cup action this early afternoon against Leeds.
I needn't go into the details of why I dislike Leeds so much again, suffice to say I really,
really, really want us to win this. We know there are going to be a raft of changes to the Arsenal
team. The manager has been cautious with Djourou so he's unlikely to play and he said he'd rest
Koscielny who had played a lot recently, so there's a question over who might partner Squillaci at
the centre of the defence.
Let's start back in the late 60's and early 70's. The mere mention of Leeds was certain to cause
fear in all but the hardest of Gooners. Leeds were as hard as their fans. Bremner, Giles, Charlton,
Hunter etc were without question the dirtiest side I have ever seen, but let there be no doubt,
that side could play great football before they kicked two colours out of the opposition.
The boss was at pains to point out that nobody will be leaving the club in the January transfer
window in his press conference yesterday. He was asked a range of questions on a range of players,
the first one was about Aaron Ramsey's short-term future and the question of him going out on loan

Morning all and welcome to a brand new week. Yesterday's 0-0 between United and Sp*rs was
probably the best result for us, meaning both teams have dropped two points. Gap closed at the top,
widened at the other end. All in all a good weekend as we got back to business in the league. Next
up for us is Wigan at home but between now and then there's the FA Cup replay at Elland Road to
contend with.
It's a beautiful day today, isn't it? The sun is out, the birds are chirping....ok so there are
no birds. And it's pretty damn cold right now. Who cares? We just won an FA Cup tie and we're back
to winning ways. On top of that, we're scoring plenty of goals, just as Bergkamp intended. Shall we
make it 3 trips to Wembley this season?
