Professional soccer has returned to Tampa Bay. Saturday evening's home opener witness the rebirth of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, and gave fans a taste of the USSF Division 2 League, as the home side drew 2-2 against the Austin Aztex.

A sold out crowd of 8,082 was on hand in what turned out to be an entertaining and back-and-forth encounter.

A busy weekend of Division 2 soccer saw a new team jump to the top of the table.

The red-hot Rochester Rhinos won their fourth straight game, defeating the Montreal Impact by a 2-1 margin, taking over top spot in the league in the process. Isaac Kissi scored a late second-half goal, breaking a 1-1 tie and securing all three points for the Rhinos.

The Portland Timbers must have hoped a new month would bring sweeping changes to their league form. Winless in May, they took an early lead over the Carolina Railhawks Saturday night on a Ryan Pore goal at PGE Park.
