This man is saying "Hallelujah" all the way out the MLS door to the Danish league.
According to Greg Lalas at Goal.com (click here for the original article and all the details),
Chris Rolfe has signed a pre-deal to head to Aalborg in the January transfer window with a three
year deal.
Yes Fire fans, Mr. ESPN is leaving the Fire in the January transfer window. So for those of you
who hate soap operas, I'm sorry. As the Chicago Fire World Turns will continue on and I'm
sure that the drama will be top notch.
As my colleague Matthew, has punctually stated in his recent article "I Wish I Had A Crystal
Ball," the Fire are on the verge of a possible exodus of players with the question marks and
explanation points surrounding the exits and of Blanco, McBride, Rolfe, Pappa, Soumare, Prideaux,
Segares, Conde and even Dennis Hamlett.
The Chicago Fire will now lose another player to Europe, but in this case will get to wait until
the offseason. Striker Chris Rolfe has agreed to join Danish club Aalborg in the January transfer
window. He'll remain with the club through the end of the year, including any possible playoff
action.
According to a Goal.com report, Fire forward Chris Rolfe is set to leave Chicago in January to
join Danish Club Aalborg (or Aab, as they are more commonly known) on a free transfer. "I'm very
excited, as I think Aalborg is as well," Rolfe told Goal.com. "It's a new opportunity and something
I've always wanted to do.
Chris Rolfe of the Chicago Fire and US National Team has been on MontzTV before but now he is
going to talk to us on the Jared Montz Soccer Podcast this Thursday! The JMS Podcast has been on
vacation the past month or two due to my wedding and move from Chicago to Louisiana, but I am back
now and ready to get on the Internet airwaves again!
This move could very well be the start of a long winter for the Chicago Fire. Goal.com is
reporting that striker Chris Rolfe has agreed to sign with Danish side Aalborg and will come on a
free-transfer this winter to the club.
"I'm very excited, as I think Aalborg is as well," Rolfe told Goal.
Chicago Fire and US National Team forward Chris Rolfe will be joining Danish SuperLiga club Aalborg
when the transfer window reopens in January. "This is a good time for this, because we are in a
good position for the playoffs, and I know Chris wants to win a championship with us," Fire
technical director Frankie Klopas said.
At first glance, one would guess that Chris Rolfe's impending move from the Fire to Danish club
Aalborg was motivated by a couple of things: 1) the motivation to play in a league with more
exposure/higher quality of play and 2) the desire to earn a little more money in a career in which
players have a short earning lifespan.

This week's guest on the Jared Montz Soccer Podcast is Chris Rolfe of the Chicago Fire. Chris
recently scored a great goal that is up for MLS Goal of the Week, his team is pushing to win the
MLS Supporter's Shield, and a few weeks ago it was announced he has signed and will be transferring
to Danish Superliga side Aalborg at the end of the year.
With just 3 regular season games remaining before he leaves MLS to join Danish club Aalborg,
Fire midfielder/forward Chris Rolfe is taking in every moment of his last few weeks with Chicago.
"Knowing that my games at Toyota Park are numbered for now makes it something that I definitely
want to take full advantage of," said the 26-year-old Rolfe prior to Saturday's game against
Toronto FC.
