Feel my pain, and witness Dave Van den Bergh, wearing similar colors to the Red
Bulls training outfit, but somehow, representing a different team. This seems wrong.
*Thanks to the folks over at FC Dallas TV for the link. Much appreciated.
All Stars for Hope is a charity organization that features some of World Footballs most
recognizable athletes, led by Mikael Silvestre of Arsenal. In an attempt to raise
money for schools around the world, Silvestre has enlisted Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney,
Didier Drogba, Thierry Henry and a host of other luminaries to take on the Red Bulls

Good Morning,
Does anyone else feel like this is the absolutely worst and most boring transfer season, post
Becks era? Wow. Talk about a snoozer. Anyone who thought that the signing of Golden Balls would
mean an influx of better, older talent (the Figo's and Zidane's of the world),
sorry.
Before I attempt writing this post, I am going to have to break out my keys and dip into my
military arsenal to prepare for the ensuing onslaught . . . .
- Life Vest? Check. Hey, you may want to drown me.
- Bullet proof vest? Check. Because bullets are everywhere in Jersey and New York.
Well, Red Bull definitely felt the way I felt about the lack of anything talent worthy over in
LaLa Land, as they decided not to pick up any of their players and, instead, they will take a crap
shoot in the draft with a conditional Los Angeles second round pick, so reports SBI.
Here is me being candid: Mike Magee was always one of my favorite players.
The Red Bulls have been one of the teams most speculated of making moves not named Toronto FC.
So instead of having to write 982672398763275237 posts, I will instead keep updates of todays
happenings, linking everyone to the news of interest.
Feel free to comment on all the latest happenings, and dealings.
Steve Goff recently reported Red Bulls keeper Caleb Patterson-Sewell was
training with Aarhus of Denmark. Since then, speculation has run rampant as to
whether or not this was simply training or a trial with the Danish club.
We recently spoke to Caleb to put any speculation to rest:
DAVE: You are currently training at the Danish Club Aarhus.
El Universal reports Venezuelan club team Mineros de Guayana are looking to finalize a deal with
the Red Bulls to bring Jorge Rojas on board through March. This would allow Red
Bull to have Rojas back just in time for the new campaign. And according to the article, all
details are hammered out, and they are only waiting to fulfill some basic requirements for the Red
Bulls as an insurance policy.
* Thanks to the boys at Red Bulls Reader *
January transfers are coming to a close, but we have till Mid March to get the house in order,
and then some.
With that said, what do you feel is Red Bulls most pressing need the remainder of the offseason.
Discuss.

This goes to show that a ground breaking ceremony means absolutely nothing.
Various sources are reporting on the prospects of a complete financial collapse, and
consequently, the scrapping of the planned 16th franchise to the MLS, namely Philadelphia. Straight
from the horses mouth, Nick Sakiewicz, CEO and operating partner of Keystone
Sports, stated,"If the markets tank next month, then we won't build this thing.
Carlos Mendes resigned yesterday with the Red Bulls, and it is a good thing; he
is a veteran of the team, who has become an all purpose defensive styled player, solid on the ball
and a definite boost to the Bulls depth. Yup. I'm with it.
With Mendes secured into the fold, the Bulls have added to their CB options, which also include
Kevin Goldthwaite, Andrew Boyens and Mike Petke.
Dave Van Den Bergh requested to be traded from the Bulls due to an undisclosed
illness to his son. How does that work? Well, his wife is from Dallas, and, as we all know, it
takes a village to raise a child. And that is just another example of the man DVB is. God Bless you
and your family, Dave.
Wondering what the coaches do during the offseason doldrums? With the preseason already underway
for rookies and invitees, Coach Osorio is fitting in some time for scouting. And
Bruce Arena decided to tag along!
Well, not exactly. Both coaches, along with Chivas coach Preki, and some DC
United scouts, took a trip down to Florida to take in the best of the Honduran
Nationals, including MLS players like Ivan Guerrero, training in the US this month.
What more can be said other than the Arena will not be built in time?! Honestly, do I have to
post anything else? Do the details matter?
All you need to know is that, once again, big government has laid down its wonderful red tape in
the home of red tape - New Jersey. Any details as to why?
This is an interesting year. We are in the midst of an economic downturn, yet the Red Bulls are
freshly coming off of their most successful postseason run in franchise history. They have achieved
a place in the CONCACAF Club Tourney, are in better bargaining positions with potential players and
have the beginnings of an Arena already up (even if it is delayed).
Rarely do I find out about an Argie player, with a serious scoring touch, and not know who the
hell he is. Especially since he was put through the ringer at Boca. This is one such instance.
Meet Luis Miguel Escalada, forward, from Argentina, currently at Gimnasia. This guy tore up the
Equadorian Serie A with 45 goals in 78 appearances.
Hey all,
I have been writing on this blog for over a year now, and it has been some of the most fruitful,
fun writing I have ever done in my life. So to start off the New Year, I would have to publicly
acknowledge all the readers here for their continuous support and love. Hell, I even got a
Christmas card from Martha this year!
Do I really need to do a write up for this one?
I opened up a new facebook account two days ago, and have started collecting footy friends. I
have a few of you already on, but I can use a few more.
I've got a bunch of pics up already, and will be adding links to interviews and favorite write
ups and such.
Mike Magee's name has been ballied about as potential trade bait to an interested Los Angeles
Galaxy. Magee's roots with Bruce Arena run deep, so the speculation has alot more weight than the
usual offseason madness.

3rdDegree out of Dallas is reporting the imminent trade of Dave Van Den Bergh
for long time Coach Osorio target, Dominic Oduro, and up to two first round draft
picks.
I guess I will have to go back to the artillary arsenal and suit up again.

Here are some morning links to wet your appetite and start the conversation moving.

OVERVIEW:
We are going to work on the assumption that Coach Osorio is looking for a
starting pair up top, considering his desire to run a 4-4-2 / 3-5-2 formations (if a 4-3-3 is
established, I would do back flips).
Quick observations as I am swamped in paper work:
- 2 trips to Toronto! Great town to visit!
- Home opener v. the Sounders should be a blast, much like the debut of RSL's Rio Tinto was last
year, just magnified by 10.
- I need to clear my weekends for May, what with all the home games.
