GolUSA reports Juan Carlos Osorio would leave the Red Bulls for the Green of
Cali. Someone ask John Guppy if he is having a flashback.
To some, this is no surprise. It seems that this was the familiar cry of 2007 as well. But this
time, it is coming from the horses mouth.
After a long day of watching the snowball effect from our earlier story, I think its a fair time
to summarize the facts into nice, chewable pieces.
#1 - Apparently, GolUSA did not seem to misquote Osorio, just misrepresent
him!
The quotes by Osorio seem accurate, but GolUSA's deduction of what was meant was clearly
off.
His name is 120 Kid on the MetroFanatics boards, but in my view, the guy is
Steven Spielberg. This is so well put together. Great f'n job!
Everyone, this is for the supporters of this great club. Take it in. Enjoy.
MLS has released some details on the first three weeks of the MLS season, and the Red Bulls have
alot on their plate to start the season.
New York will be making their charge into the 2009 season with a visit to Seattle for the
Sounders inaugural bash March 19th! With thousands of season tickets already sold in the Washington
area, I wouldn't be surprised to see 25,000 plus chanting as one sea of green.
The news is so dry, so boring, so deplete of real meat that I am forced to update you all on
news that simply 2 days ago, I considered unimportant.
For instance . . . .
GABE CICHERO FINDS A NEW JOB
I found this nugget out before it made the US Blogosphere - and I skipped out on reporting it,
since I figured no one would care.
I love hearing the offseason quotes of MLS new comers. Depending on the person, the critique
usually falls within three categories; glowing approval, dismal disappointment or vast ambiguity.
So, while I was trolling the spanish news outlets, I picked this Jorge Rojas
interview up from Correo Del Caroni out of Venezuela.
Another season has passed, and here we are in the wonderful world of the offseason. The thing I
like best about the time off is the ability to let your imagination run friggin' wild. And this
offseason, Red Bull fans everywhere have the ability to do just that, and justifiably may I
add!
#1 - The Bulls have more senior spots to play with.
It was an interesting weekend poll, with the question being: How do you feel about Juan
Pietravallo returning for the 2009 season? It has been part of the ripple effect of
questions that has developed since Juan Carlos Osorio did his mini press
conference last week.
From the artists that bought you the Lider Marmol saga comes a new season of
"he said she said, I saw him first" action! Thats right - MLS is on the road to
discovery. And it is a murky hell to navigate.
One is left to ponder - is this season more Christopher Columbus or Somali Pirating in
nature?
The weekend poll has quickly become a favorite of mine; it keeps my finger on the readers pulse,
and is an easy way to put up content without all that much effort! This week, you guys spoke loud
and clear; give Amado a chance!
Now, to assume TFC is looking to move the Honduran stand out is a stretch.
Before I put up this weekends poll (which is a goodie), I have to stray off the world of soccer
and into one of my other loves in life - music.
Guns n' Roses, as previously constituted, was an incredibley formative force in
my childhood. Axl, Slash, Duff and the gang were icons in my mind.
Here is a bit of news I didn't want to wake up to the day after Christmas: Brian Lewis reports
Diego Jimenez is gone. Another little surprise; he was on a 6 month loan. Wack.
A complete steal at 17k, Jimenez has taken advantage of being the anchor of the Red Bulls
defense for the playoff push and translated it into a contract with Mexican first division squad,
Tecos.
RONALDO IS LINKED TO THE RED BULLS. AGAIN.
I don't know if I am posting this because of that hilarious picture supplied by Englands
"Independent" (that poverty jersey is f'n classic!), or just laziness, but yes. Ronaldo
is already being linked to the Red Bulls and their Portuguese rich neighborhood.
Hello again,
Well, the anesthesia has somewhat worn off, and I enjoyed a great nights sleep. If you ever have
to "go under," the nervousness will be well worth it once the first shot of goodness is
injected into the saline. I tried to count to 100 and try to fight the effects; instead, I woke up
and asked "When are we getting started?
Dear Santa,
I have been a very good blogger this year. Just ask NLR, Martha in Miami, cg, BMatt or any one
of my other readers!
I have interviewed players, done game reports, covered every event imaginable from a Barcelona
scrimmage to the Red Bulls Iron Chef! I think I am a bit deserving.
Got to love SBI.
A day after we put Red Bull fans into a panic, Ives comes in to sooth the minds of the already
paranoid and depressed.
Juan Carlos Osorio affirmed his return next season. So much so that he claims
to have turned down over a dozen job offers to stay on.
Hey y'all,
Its Endoscopy Day! For me anyway. I haven't eaten since 12am last night and my appointment is at
12 in the afternoon. I can't eat for a period of time after that either. Worst of all? I am
allergic to the knockout juice so I am sure to puke up a lung shortly after the procedure.
As Ives so eloquently detailed, Van Den Bergh's salary was partially paid for
by the KC Wizards since the time he was traded over in 2006. If the Bulls are to re-sign Van Den
Bergh, they must pay the full salary, which would equal to roughly a 110k hit on the salary cap.
With the cap as constrictive as it is, a 100k salary cap investment can be the difference between a
quality player and a risky one.
