Leave it to the Seattle Sounders, winners of three straight U.S. Open Cups, to at least
momentarily restore a semblance of order to what has been an unpredictable tournament.
A night after lower-tier teams massacred MLS sides, the Sounders dominated the NASL's Atlanta
Silverbacks in a 5-1 rout.
It was same stuff, different night for Ryan Kinne on Saturday.
Twenty-four hours after he scored two in a 6-0 romp over Boston, Kinne collected two more in
the Azul's 4-0 victory over the Voltage at Pomperaug High School on Saturday.
Kinne, who scored twice in Friday's 6-0 rout of Boston, added two more to his account against
Vermont with strikes in the 53rd and 84th minutes.

youth team.
Sporting fielded a side filled with players born in 1993 and 1994 and went ahead 1-0 in the 53rd
minute.
The starting lineup that the Seattle Sounders Women sent out onto the wet Starfire pitch this
evening was the one that we all dreamed about when the preseason flurry of world class signings
came to an end. In goal, Hope Solo. At forward, Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux. In the midfield
Keelin Winter, Megan Rapinoe, and Veronica Perez.
Real Madrid clinched the league title, Messi scored a hat trick, and Real Zaragoza kept survival
hopes alive in the Spanish Primera Division (La Liga) on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.
Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Sociedad
Both teams would scored a second half goal as Gabi made it 1-0 in the 53rd minute but Real
Sociedad equalized with a stoppage time Carlos Vela goal.
Villarreal all but clinched their survival, Getafe were held at home by Racing, and Granada edge
Espanyol in the Spanish Primera Division (La Liga) on Tuesday, May 1, 2012.

The day your under-performing opponents become over-powering, is the day you know you shouldn't
have left home at all. Yes, Lyon never ‘turned up' in the Coupe de la Ligue Final, to quote Rémi
Garde.
Round 35 of the SPANISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE concluded tonight with the Monday Night Game between
OSASUNA & MALAGA FC that ended in a 1 - 1 draw. Lost opportunity for both Clubs to jump table
positions as Osasuna aims for Europa League positions & Malaga to get off Valencia CF the prized
3º rd place.
A small group of Genoa ultras put on an incredible display of fan power during Sunday's match
against Siena. After Siena took a 4-0 lead over relegation-threatened Genoa early in the second
half, the ultras began their protest.
From Football Italia:
Genoa were losing 4-0 at the 53rd minute when the Marassi crowd halted play by throwing
fireworks and climbing on top of the tunnel.
The expected UEFA Champions League final between the two giants of La Liga looks a little
less than a racing certainty after both Barcelona and Real Madrid lost their semi-final first
legs.
Barça as usual marinated possession away at Chelsea and hit the Londoners' woodwork twice,
yet succumbed to a breakaway goal on the stroke of half-time, finished by Didier
Drogba.
Barcelona moved into the UEFA Champions League semifinals with a 3-1 second leg win (same score
on aggregate) over AC Milan.
It was another great performance from Barca as Lionel Messi scored two goals and Andres Iniesta
added one. There was a little cause of concern in the first half as Milan's Antonio Nocerino made
it 1-1 (Milan would have advanced with a draw).
The Portland Timbers reserves faced off against the San Jose Earthquakes reserves today at the
Earthquakes training facility. Despite creating a number of chances and outshooting the Earthquakes
19-12, the Timbers were unable to beat San Jose keeper David Bingham. San Jose were similarly
thwarted by some excellent saves from Joe Bendik until the 53rd minute, when San Jose midfielder
Jean-Marc Alexandre fired in a shot from distance that snuck just inside the post.
The New York Red Bulls got a lopsided win to start their home schedule, beating Colorado 4-1.
Thierry Henry was the first player on the score sheet, putting New York up in the third minute. He
had the assist on Kenny Cooper's goal three minutes later. It would be Henry again in the 53rd
minute, with Colorado pulling a goal back in the 77th through Omar Cummings.
TweetA late goal by Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave AC Milan a 2-1 win over Roma to move seven points clear
of Juventus at the top of Serie A. The big swede fired home the winner in the 83rd minute having
also shot the hosts level in the 53rd minute after Pablo Osvaldo had given Roma the [...]

West Ham hauled themselves back to the top of the Championship last night with a resounding win
over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road, despite having to play for more than half-an-hour with
midfielder Henri Lansbury betwixt the sticks.

Juventus moved four points clear at the top of Serie A after a 2-0 win over Atalanta thanks to
goals by Stephan Lichtsteiner and Emanuele Giaccherini. The visitors continued their Serie A title
push with a well deserved win although they had to wait until the 53rd minute to open the scoring
when Stephan Lichtsteiner [.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp conceded that he was frustrated with the 1-1 home draw over the
weekend while claiming that a point was better than nothing. Spurs couldn't convert their many
chances in order to add to Luka Modric's 53rd minute strike and ultimately had to settle for the
result.
The United States stay 34th for the third month in a row as we close out the 2011 FIFA
Rankings. With most teams idle during the rankings period, there isn't a lot of movement in the
table. Mexico drops to 21st, remaining first overall in CONCACAF. Spain remains the World #1, with
Holland, Germany, Uruguay, and England rounding out the top five.

Stanford's women's soccer team has completed its climb up the NCAA ladder. Finally.
After falling in the national title game in each of the last two seasons, Stanford held off Duke
to capture the 2011 title with a 1-0 victory in Kennesaw, Ga.
Sunday was a day to forget for the Revolution Youth Academy as the U-16s and U-18s were each
handed 3-0 losses by the Chicago Fire during New England's second match of the Winter Showcase.
The 18s fell into a hole two minutes into their match when Andrew Conner's goal put the Fire in
front early.

Teresa Noyola scored from point-blank range Sunday to help top-ranked Stanford beat No. 3 Duke
1-0 and give the Cardinal their first NCAA women's soccer title after three consecutive attempts.
It was the perfect finish to Stanford's unbeaten season.
Stanford seniors Noyola, Camille Levin, Kristy Zuhmehlen and Lindsay Taylor finished their
college careers with a record of 95-4-4.

The Houston Dynamo won a see-saw match against Sporting Kansas City, while the Los Angeles
Galaxy demonstrated their dominance in the league with a convincing victory over Real Salt Lake.
Galaxy will now have the good fortune of hosting the MLS Cup Final against the Dynamo on Sunday,
November 20.
Sporting 0:2 Dynamo First Half
Two of MLS' most physical teams duked it out on the rough pitch at Livestrong Sporting Park.
After a scoreless first half, the Dynamo opened up the attack with Andre Hainault and Carlo
Costly goals as Houston earned 2-0 win over Sporting K.C. at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park and a return
to the MLS Cup Final for the first time since 2007.
Hainault opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when a corralled a loose ball inside the box and
fired it through to give the guests the lead.
Salt Lake 3 - Seattle 0 Real Salt Lake came up with a huge home result, beating the higher seeded
Sounders by three goals at Rio Tinto Stadium in the opening leg of their Western Conference
semifinal two-game series. Alvaro Saborio was the hero for RSL, scoring in the 41st and 53rd
minutes. Javier Morales assisted on both goals, with Ned Grabavoy scoring the third in the 88th
minute.
Álvaro Saborío scored two for Real Salt Lake, and the Seattle Sounders reacted with
frustration to their 3-0 loss in the first leg of the Western Conference Semifinals. RSL dominated
from the early minutes, pounding eleven shots at Seattle's geriatric keeper while holding the
Flounders to exactly zero shots on target for the duration of the match.

Much was made of Real Salt Lake's regular season-ending six-match winless streak and how it
might be a sign that RSL is in trouble heading into the playoffs.
On Saturday night, Real Salt Lake put that notion to rest in emphatic fashion.
Quite possibly the worst performance that the Seattle Sounders ever occurred in the chilly, high
air of Utah as Real Salt Lake netted three goals. Only Kasey Keller prevented that scoreline from
being even greater. To list all of the mistakes that were made will take some time, but sadly it
will happen.
Quick Recap
Approximately as many people showed up to watch a playoff game at Pizza Hut Park as attended a
reserve match at Jeld Wen Field earlier this season. FC Dallas appeared to draw inspiration from
the sparse crowd as they put forth a half-empty effort against the lowest seed New York Red
Bulls.
Liverpool progress into the Carlin Cup Quarter Finals after Luis Suarez scored 2 goals in a come
from behind win.
Kenwyne Jones put Stoke ahead in the 43th minute with a great header.
Luis Suarez then went on to win the game scoring in the 53rd and 85th minute. His first goal was
some thing special and can be seen in the video bellow.
Xavi Hernández goal helped Barcelona to a 1-0 victory over nine-man Granada on Tuesday, while
Sevilla struck late to draw 2-2 with Real Racing Club.

CARSON, Calif. – Playing a game with nothing on the line, the Seattle Sounders went into their
match against Chivas USA on Saturday night looking to stay healthy and looking to keep up their
recent outstanding form heading into the MLS playoffs.
At first if you don't succeed, try, and try again.
Los Angeles Galaxy forward Chad Barrett must have been uttering those words at halftime of LA's
Superclasico matchup against Chivas USA. The Galaxy forward had numerous chances in the first half,
but it wasn't until the 53rd minute when Barrett finally broke through, as his header off an Adam
Cristman cross finally found the back of the net, and that strike was all Los Angeles needed to
hold off Chivas USA on Sunday evening at the Home Depot Center.

BRIDGEVIEW, IL -- The Chicago Fire went into Wednesday night's match against FC Dallas knowing
that anything short of a victory would all but erase their chances of reaching the playoffs. For FC
Dallas, the match was about trying snap a losing streak and poor run of form.
