The 2011/12 season is going to go down in the annuls at Liverpool as one of disappointment when
it comes to the Premier League, but Daniel Agger remains confident the Reds can get back to
challenging for the Premier League title in their next campaign.
Kenny Dalglish has guided Liverpool to the Carling Cup triumph and also the FA Cup final where
they lost out to Chelsea, but when it comes to their league campaign it has been one of displeasure
and anguish around Anfield.
Champions League final hosts Bayern Munich are favorites to beat Chelsea at their home ground,
but if they do win, their prize money will be going into the pockets of Bundesliga rivals Schalke
and Hoffenheim.
UEFA will pay Bayern a €9 million prize if they beat Chelsea, which also happens to be the
combined total due in "success" clauses written into last summer's deal to bring goalkeeper Manuel
Neuer from Schalke and the previous January's acquisition of Luiz Gustavo from Hoffenheim.
Chelsea's epic performance against Barcelona last night is a result i am sure will be talked
about for weeks even years to come. The Blues finally broke their duck against a Barcelona side
that won more titles in their last 3 years than Chelsea have in the last decade.
The man of the moment however, was their £50 million signing Fernando Torres.
Over £5 billion of conspicuous professional insider trading went down the pan when Fernando Torres
equalised for Chelsea in injury time last evening.
Now that is some way to start repaying your £50 million transfer fee!
For once Fantastic Football Fucked The Frigging Fixers.
For the longest time, they labelled Fernando the £50 million flop. "Give him a ball, they said,
"and he'll show you his mop!" But over the weeks, old Torres remained the same Till yesterday, when
football returned to the Beautiful Game Pique, Messi, Alexis and Iniesta, they all tried None could
break through when Ramires took flight And in the 81st minute, when Torres came on, Chelsea began
to hum a strange song An hour of combing his blonde mane Had left the poor Spaniard quite insane,
But who's to say what money can buy?
Andy Carroll's return to Newcastle went about as bad as he probably feared on Sunday. Not only
did Fernando Torres, the man Liverpool sold for a tidy £50 million before quickly spending the
majority of it on Carroll, score for Chelsea the day before, but Newcastle won 2-0, with their new

Imagine this: 2010. You support a club which has won the European Cup, your team has a wealthy
American owner , they are Wembley regulars and are usually in contact with the League leaders, they
are managed by one of the best PL managers (O'Neill) and have some decent players in the
squad.
Move forward a couple of years to 2012.

There was just so much sympathy and display of kindness in the
football world this weekend in support of Fabrice Muamba, who collapsed during
Bolton's FA Cup clash against Spurs on Saturday. It was a delicate situation and in the words of
Steve Bruce "quite unbelievable" -, but the support he received has been amazing.

We've made excuses for his hastiness in the past, but the time has come to lay some blame at the
feet of our impatient owner. More, after the jump:
Well Hello There
It's been, to put it bluntly, a horrible six weeks for Chelsea. Results have been hard to come
by, performances have waned, and speculation regarding the safety of Andre's job spiraled into some
black hole of will-he will-he-not get the sack.
The board of Directors at Arsenal PLC are very happy to announce their £50 million profit today
which added to their cash reserves gives them a mouth-watering £115 million in the bank to play
with, but the Board are at pains to emphasise that this is NOT cash available to Arsene Wenger to
bring in [.
Lending out Andrei Arshavin to his former club Zenit St. Petersburg of Russia while you're fighting
for fourth place and a Champions League spot next season is nothing short of a salary dump. The
Russian team is reportedly going to take over Arshavin's paycheques until the end of the season and
will hand over a cool million pounds to Arsenal for the use of the player.
Ducky's Note: A BFZ introduction is due to Chambo, our latest writer who we
presume thinks he is a combination of Chamakh and Ramsey. From that you must have figured that he's
now the 1325th Arsenal writer we have got, leading us very close to becoming

Not so long ago, in a stadium not so far away....
Arsenal have had a hard season. On the final day of the campaign they've leap-frogged their rivals
into fourth spot and secured Champions League qualification. Yet another worry has not quite
disappeared. Their captain and best player has still not signed a new contract.
There has been some very bad news for football over the last week. The fact that Glasgow Rangers
have been put into administration, by the club's owner, is an indication of the sorry state the
Beautiful Game is in both financially and in terms of management.
This latest occurrence has come about as a result of Her Majesties Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
demanding up to £50 million in unpaid taxes and National Insurance contributions due on money paid
into Employee Benefit Trusts (EBTs).
Since Chelsea bought Fernando Torres for a British record £50 million a little over a year ago.
his complete inability to score goals with any semblance of regularity has gone from the hope of
Liverpool fans to the jokes of all fans and, finally, to the befuddling expectation of everyone,
including Fernando himself.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has dismissed suggestions that the club will part ways with
either Didier Drogba or Fernando Torres in the near future, insisting that both will have roles to
play at Stamford Bridge.
Torres has struggled for goals since his £50 million move from Liverpool a year ago and his
goal return has not been improving while Drogba has been on international duty with Ivory Coast at
the African Cup of Nations.

'Twas a bit of a slow one yesterday as anyone who spent 11-and-a-bit hours 'glued' to the live
feed will tell you, with the total spending across the English leagues failing to surpass the £50
million that Chelsea spaffed on Fernando Torres this time last year let alone the ludicrous £225
million that was spent in total in January of 2011.
In December 2010, Newcastle United was making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Chris Hughton
was sacked, Mike Ashley was up to his typical tactics and a month later Andy Carroll was sold to
Liverpool for more than $50 million. ...

I initially filed this one under bullshit in my immensely well-organized mental
filing cabinet. It was first reported in the Daily Mail after all. That bummy rag may have
been on to something, though. In fact, they were probably dead-on.
Sincerest apologies, Mail.
John Nyen on Bolton's season and plight
Bolton's in the EPL "ER" right now...
There are 18 games left to save the season for Bolton Wanderers.
Saving they may need indeed, after momentarily sinking to just near the bottom of the table in
the Barclay's Premier League.
Liverpool legend Tommy Smith has urged Kenny Dalglish to add a 'proven' striker to his ranks this
month in order maintain their challenge for a top four finish.
Despite spending in excess of £50 million on the dual striker pairing of Luis Suarez and Andy
Carroll in January last year, Liverpool has toiled for goals all season.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has been handed a stern warning by his national team coach
Vicente Del Bosque to shape up or suffer missing an inclusion in his Euro 2012 squad.
Torres has struggled to replicate his Liverpool form since his record £50 million move last
January having managed to score only 3 goals in all appearances.
Reports linking Milan striker Alexandre Pato have been gaining pace in the last week. The player
himself has expressed his discontent with Max Allegri and it has been rumoured that Paris
Saint-Germain have offered €50 million for his services – with the deal already agreed in
principle between the two clubs.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres: Liverpool's owners lied to me & I don't understand why
the fans hate me
The £50 million man claims there was more to his switch to Stamford Bridge than meets the eye
and says he deserves more respect from his critics as a world and European champion

Under fire Chelsea striker Fernando Torres has gotten backing from coach Andre Villas- Boas
concerning his future with the club. The Spanish international who was bought from Liverpool in
January for £50 million, has consistently been included in Chelsea's starting 11 in spite of his
lack of goals.

Not that we're giving it much credence, but word in the Daily Mail this morning is that Chelsea
are prepared to listen to offers for Fernando Torres come January in a bid to cut their losses as
£50 million's worth of doleful Spaniard slips ever-further down the pecking order at Stamford
Bridge.
Nene was one of the biggest names in available in the NBA free agent market. On Tuesday, the
Denver Nuggets re-signed their starting center for $67 million over five years. A number of other
teams were interested in him including the Houston Rockets and New Jersey Nets.
Last season, the 29-year-old averaged 14.
Former Liverpool star Steve Staunton believes that if Andy Carroll is given time at the Merseyside
club, he will show his £35 million worth, as the striker continues to find his feet at
Anfield.
On Monday night Carroll was subbed off in the 77th minute for Dirk Kuyt, after yet another
lacklustre performance in which the Reds lost to Fulham 1-0.
AC Milan have agreed a deal with Catania to sign Maxi Lopez. The Milanese club are looking for a
new forward after Antonio Cassano underwent heart surgery earlier this month. Milan have been
heavily linked with the troublesome Carlos Tevez in recent weeks, with a loan deal their preferred
option. However, Manchester City want to recoup some of the £50 million they allegedly spent to
bring him to.
Liverpool has been linked with a somewhat surprising move for Real Madrid winger Royston Drenthe,
who is currently on loan with Everton.
The Dutchman joined the Toffees on deadline day and will remain at Goodison Park for the remainder
of the season at least.
Everton retain an option to buy Drenthe at the end of his temporary agreement, but Liverpool may
reportedly move to scupper any proposed deal.
