Liverpool ran out easy winners against West Ham last night 3-0 but instead of the result and
performance boosting the Anfield crowd, the mood in the stadium was one of despondency.
The Reds ran out easy winners with goals by Yossi Benayoun, David Ngog and an own goal by Rob
Green.
Liverpool had all the possession and all the chances and were in complete command of the game for
the full 90 mins and a bigger winning margin wouldn't have flattered the Reds.
Chelsea midfielder and England international Frank Lampard has revealed in a recent interview that
he might like to follow David Beckham to the United States one day, though fans of Major League
Soccer shouldn't be expecting to see him anytime soon. He still has three years left on his latest
contract with Chelsea, meaning he likely won't turn up in MLS until 2013 at the earliest, when he
would be 35 years old.
David Beckham: Before Victoria, Madrid, Armani and LA
Tonight, David Beckham will receive a lifetime achievement award from the BBC. There are few
people that would argue that David Beckham has not achieved a lot in his lifetime. Both on and
off the field, he has left a dent not only on the game but he has also helped to shape the broader
cultural context surrounding the sport.

Frank Lampard has played his entire club career in England, but that hasn't stopped him from
thinking of possibly joining MLS.
Yes, that's right, the beloved Number 33 has returned to the club where he was loved for years.
He's 35 years old now and certainly not getting any younger but I will always be happy to welcome
him back to our club, especially at a time when options seem limited. Hopefully we will see some
signs of the Libe we all knew and loved.
It was 35 years ago today that The Black Pearl made his NASL debut for the New York Cosmos.
Pele assisted on one goal and scored the other in a 2-2 friendly draw with the
Dallas Tornado at Downing Stadium on Randalls Island in New York.
That was the start of Pele's two-and-a-half year run in the NASL, which culminated with the 1977
Soccer Bowl title.
The U.S. Open Cup just got interesting y'all. One of my all-time favorite rivalries, the
Portland-Seattle beef, is getting trotted out one last time before the Timbers join the Sounders in
MLS next season; somewhere in downtown Portland, a Timbers ticket sales rep is dreaming of the fat
commission check this game is sure to bring him.
A Southend man, charged with murdering an elderly woman from the town, has been remanded in

88 year old Rosina Waller was found dead in Johnstone Road in Thorpe Bay on New Year's Day. A post

34 year old Hassan Salahi from Cunningham Close in Shoeburyness is also accused of attempted
murder, causing grevious bodily harm with intent and aggravated burglary.
So the move appears to be on. Although not fully confirmed by the club yet, it appears that
after coming through 45 minutes for the reserves last night, Sol Campbell is once again an Arsenal
player. It is almost as surprising as the first time he signed back in 2001, and shows a
flexibility to transfer dealings that many thought Wenger was incapable of.
Altidore, whose parents moved to the U.S. from Haiti 35 years ago, has more than a dozen family
members -- uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces -- unaccounted for.
Our Harry is praising Arsene Wenger in his column in The Sun, for having completed a good bit of
business with his re-signing of Sol Campbell.
Obviously Redknapp is a big admirer of Campbell, having worked with him at Portsmouth. He even
admitted that he would have signed him in the summer, had he been working at any other club than
Tottenham.
Japanese International, Takuya Yamada (pictured below, number 23), came on as a late substitute for
Thai Port in yesterdays friendly match against Tampines Rovers at PAT Stadium.
The 35 year old, who has won 4 caps for Japan, has been described as, 'One of the iconic players of

While I was watching the UEFA Champions League match between AC Milan and Manchester United
earlier this week, I was amazed by the way Man U evened the score in the first half against the
Italian giants. Trailing 1-0 in the 39th minute, Red Devils midfielder Paul Scholes doubled his
goal total for the year when the ball was crossed to him in the front of the net and the aging
long time Man U player stuck the cross into the corner of the net with an impressive
finish.

It's been 35 years since John Wooden was on the sidelines, but his commitment to character is as
relevant as it ever was.
Steve Jamison, author of best-selling books on John Wooden and Bill Walsh, has spent the past
fifteen years working with Wooden on various books on leadership. Jamison writes about Wooden's
leadership style, and how critical character is-

Its become a bit of a traditional for the EFW Team to treat ourselves to an annual day out to the
Wembley for the League Two play-off final each May. Some of the teams we've seen have made lasting
impressions with us and we've end up following their every move, whereas others, we've
unceremoniously tossed straight back in the sea.

Footvolley is a sport that has taken off in the past decade and become one of the fastest
growing and most popular disciplines in the world. Pretty mindboggling to see how far the game has
evolved in almost 35 years.
Although not the Mecca that Copacabana and Ipanema are for this sport, Hollywood Beach will be
buzzing with the anticipation for this event as the maximum event in this sport returns to South
Florida.
Fulham 1-2 Atletico Madrid
Fulham FC were left heartbroken as they lost the Europa League final to a late, unfortunate goal
from Diego Forlan five minutes from time, in extra time.
This was Fulham's first major cup final for 35 years, and they showed exactly why they deserved
to be there, pulling out a performance fit for European finalists.

Javier Pastore
After a good second half of the season in Italy Javier Pastore was called up to the
Argentinian national squad by Diego Maradona. During training he has impressed everybody, although
he is still unlikely to force his way into the starting line up.

Shannon Brown flirted with the New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks. In
the end, however, Brown came to his senses and re-signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a very
smart move for the athletic yet not-too-skilled guard out of Michigan State. Brown's contract is
worth $4.
OK, so if you have read Tip #1 regarding equipment and Tip #2 regarding the Warm Up, your
players should be organized, in the right gear and warmed up ready to go.
Now if you are coaching club players, high school, college etc, you will then go into the "meat"
of the practice and work on technical and/or tactical (functional) sessions.
Squad Profiles are available for each of the twenty clubs currently playing football in

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was full of praise for midfielder Paul Scholes
following yesterday's Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. At 35 years of age, Scholes still
managed to turn heads once again as he put in yet another man of the match performance en route to
his side's 3-1 victory.
David Beckham's England career, which began way back in 1996 against Moldova (call-up photo with
then England manager Glenn Hoddle is to your left) received its notice of termination from Fabio
Capello yesterday.
Not a huge surprise. Beckham is 35 years old and won't be any younger by the time Euro 2012 gets
here, and the English public, media and just plain old common sense demands an infusion of fresh
talent.
So, as you will have heard elsewhere, its all over for David Beckham in an England shirt.
Probably. A slightly cack-handed statement from Fabio Capello suggested that the former Captain was
probably a bit too old. Which is true, and we should be moving on. But first its worth pausing and
noting what a magnificent ambassador he's been for English football.
35 years old and still kicking ass!!

Given the Newcastle Jets have been saved by a Mining Magnate, Nathan Tinkler, who is said to be
worth $355 million at 35 years of age, I've been having a look around a couple of busy Canberra
streets for the City's saviour.
Lots of people with suits and ties, women on bikes with fluro tops, and students heading back and
forth to Uni but haven't spotted the one Mining Magnate from Canberra who can get us a football
team.
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has acknowledged that he is bitterly disappointed at his club's exit
from the League Cup, but feels that it is too early in the season to become too downhearted.
Hodgson accepts that he and his players must take responsibility for the League Cup exit to
Northampton Town but has urged fans not to lose faith in his regime.
Roy Hodgson has hit back at suggestions that he may not have the pedigree to manage a club like
Liverpool.
The Reds have had a stuttering start to the season, winning only one of their six Premier League
